I'm glad you liked the video. I did some editing on this video to get that halation and bloom effect. No plugins. I added an adjustment layer and channel blur for the reds to get the halation effect. Then a duplicated video layer with luma key and gausian blur to add that bloom to the highlights. 😊

Glad it was helpful. There are stronger versions that are +2, +5, all the way to +10 so you can get really close.

Glad I could help. Action cameras do be like that. This isn't a perfect fix but it does the job with the Action 4. I don't have an Action 5 but let me know if you try this setup.

To each their own. I found the ruggednes and the horizon lock more useful at thhe time. I can always use my Pocket 2 if I need the mechanical stab or the a7iii if I need footage that pulls focus. 😊

Hey. Its actual a DJI Action 4 filter adapter. It doesn't have any indicated mm. It just fits over the lens protector of the DJI, then it has a 49mm filter thread on the other end. I shpuld probably put a better video together showing how it all fits together. 😅

I've got another question. With the 49mm adaptor and lens, aren't you blocking the color temperature sensor at the bottom?

That is a very good question. It does get in the way of the sensor, but I haven't had trouble with it since I got (since this video). I'll be shooting more with it and testing it.

Hey man. I could but its something local here in the Philippines. I can't seem to find a match on amazon for the adapter.

Yup. I was playing around with the idea but wasn't sure if I should get a +1, +2, +4, or +10 filter. After a bit of looking around, I guestimated a +2 filter would work, and it did. You can't get macro shots with it as getting too close would still be out of focus, but I can now get reasonably close to the camera and still be in focus. I actually think its sharper with the filter.

Some of the b-role was shot on an a7iii. That shot wasn't on the Action 4. However is possible to add the out of focus blur in editing. 😅 I am looking into a couple of adapters to to help with the focus distance.

Its normal to feel that way. We just have to pick ourselves up when we are ready and keep pushing forward.

Some of the cafe scenes were shot using the a7iii.

Unfortunately you can't. The Action 4 has a fixed focus, with a minimum focus distance of 40cm (15 inches). If I need a closeup, what I do is shoot in 4k, then crop in as needed in editing. Or I use a different camera.

I use 4k and 2k depending on the need for horizon lock. 24 fps and auto but limited to 100-800 ISO on 4k and 100-400 ISO on 2k.

Shot on dlog then color graded. One thing to note, the DJI Action 4 has a minimum focus distance of 0.4 meters (1.3ft). Anything closer than 0.4 meters out of focus. Everything beyond 0.4 meters is in focus.

I am using the Osmo Action 4 here. The ocean park video, I was using the Osmo Pocket 2. For indoors shoot at 4k with ISO no more than 800. The noise is reasonable at ISO 800 but anymore than that, it looks terrible. Always look for the light. 😊

You can. Rocksteady+ does crop in a bit. But if you use horozin lock or horizon balance, the crop is more significant. You could also shoot in 2k or 4k and then crop when editing.

It's a solid camera. It perfect for video but also capable in taking travel photos. Pribably the best camera out there in terms value to features ratio.

Yeah sure. Shot on d-log 10 bit to make the most out of it. Applied the d-log m to rec709 lut which you can get from the DJI website. Applied a teal and orange lut which I dont remember if I made or got from somewhere. Other than that I'm just shooting eother 2k or 4k footage at 24 fps. Shutter has to be kept no lower 1/100 for the stabilization to work, and ISO is on auto but set to be no higjer than 400 at 2k and no higher than 800 at 4k.

Hey. I didn't really use any other accessories with it except for a mini tripod. Everything, even the audio for the voice over was recorded with the DJI.

Sure. 1. D-log M is in 10 bit. Thats what I used the whole time. 2. I used horizon lock for the stabilization which defaults to narrow/dewarp. 3. I do write out my script and plan which shots match it. 😊
