I used to go along Regent Road, across the iron bridge (that was in Captain America no less), onto Crosby Road South and then left on Cambridge Road. I'll never forget when I turned that last corner and saw the sand dunes ahead of me. Sunday was the best time to go along that route as the factories were closed and there was literally no trucks or traffic, but I dunno if it's still like that.
Great video, I've no intention of doing the route but I enjoyed the video, I like how you didn't put music over it, as I was loading it I thought better turn the volume down cos I don't wanna hear the cheesy music most ppl play over them 🤣 You deserve more subscribers
Once you are on Crosby front, you can get all the way to Formby by just using cycle/footpaths...except for a short, quiet stretch from S. Hightown to the station...straight along Blundell Rd.. After that, you can pick up the path again which runs between the training camp and the railway. Further coastal and woodland paths can get you to Ainsdale then Southport. You can always get the train back.
Otterspool Prom > Albert Dock > Regents Road > Port of Liverpool > Crosby Beach. That's my usual route that i use quite often, as it's 95% cycle paths. I'll have to try this way next time though.
That bike lane on Great Georges is now complete. But they did it in black tarmac with very little visual differentiation to the road surface so it catches people out and you often see cars swinging onto it before realising the layout's changed. If they'd done it in a different colour tarmac, it would've been far safer & usable!
Nice video but would definitely not take this route. As bad as the shared cycle path after on Crosby Road South is, it's at least direct, easy to follow and avoids being on the road with cars.
I make these videos to suggest traffic free routes anyone can use. This way is still quite direct and keeps you far away from busy roads which I wouldn't feel safe cycling along.
The cycle lanes on Vauxhall Road are a disgrace. Bicycles having to give way to traffic from side roads at every single junction, the pavement for pedestrians being in between the cycle lane and the road. Sums up everything that's wrong with urban cycle planning. Hopefully the new fully segregated cycle lane on the dock road is a sign of things to come

Regent Road has a bi directional segregated cycle path now. Much better than it used to be!

Yes I went all the way up to Southport this way once, its a really scenic ride through the trees and dunes!
Thanks for sharing

Yeah I'd recommend the regent road (the dock road) route over this one. It's one straight line and there's a permanent cycle path.
Going along the canal is a lovely quiet route. I went via Pall Mall.
Brilliant. Wow, all those houses.
Looks like a pretty good ride, the water front looks lovely too.

At 2. 13 seconds, it looked like that car just missed you
Great video, can it be seen at normal speed?
Great views and all but why is the vid so fast? can't we see it in normal speed
By the way I'm originally from Oldswan
Great vid fella. As an ex Crosbyite now living in NL it's great to see at least some provision being made on UK roads for cyclists. U on Strava?

Nice weather...Can I join?😃
Enjoyed the vids but just a bit fast for me which makes it hard to focus and means all those interesting things along the way just flash past
It’s not a bit like the Netherlands for cycling. I think I only saw around 5 bikes on the whole route which is a real shame.
Mad route that , could of just turned left onto great Howard and straight down

next video probably add music cos all I'm getting is wind noise.
That's all I could hear too, it gives an authentic experience😁
