I watched a documentary about blitz beach once and the top of the building with the letters was once the top floor of a greenalls pub till it was bombed.. if you look really closely you will see specks of colour in it too. I think it was a greeny blue… I’ve been to visit this.. 😊
I’ve always headed out to New Brighton as a seaside favourite, never been to Crosby and I didn’t know any of that ! Will defo be going there next, cheers. 👍
last time i was in new Brighton i wondered around an old church cemetery, i was amazed at how many sea captains were buried their dating back to the early 1800's
@@MrWhothefoxthat if you go into the Pavilion, you can see pictures from Victorian times when it was one of the top holiday hotspots in the country, with its attractions and tower bigger than Blackpool’s. It’s sad to see the decline it then went through in the late 20th century, but it’s on the way back now. I love the place (but just not on bank holidays as it’s now rammed again !).
There appears to be a lot of modern stuff as well and I think that most of the pre war housing in Liverpool would have been built using lime mortar that would of washed away years ago so the sections of brickwork may be modern
Thank you for this brilliant video. Tragic part of history and so important that it’s remembered
That's really emotive. Brings it home even today.
Definitely deserved its own video. Well done.
Take care. LJ
Thanks 😊
Very moving Dean, lest we forget………..😔
Far out Dix ,this is where my people come from, Merseyside.....nice work brother
