I was at this concert -- one of the greatest I've been too. They played Saint-Saens 3rd Symphony, this, and two encores. Mr. Jansons was an incredible conductor. RIP

Tecnicamente, muy bueno. Las orquestas le sonaban bien. Como intérprete, menos interesante.

But such a small part of his achievement. He was a musician with consummate taste and a wonderful year for orchestral balance. One of the greatest conductors of my long lifetime. He is one of the extremely few conductors that I would mention in the same breath with Carlos Kleiber.

Muito dificil esquecer a sua tecnica e a sua comunicação com o público e com os musicos das diferentes orquestra. Quando terminava o concerto a música mantinha - se no ar pairava sobre nós

He gave a few more concerts after this. At the last one I witnessed, he could barely walk. I knew the end was near, even though the press kept saying he had a schedule extending into 2022. RIP - He was a wonderful conductor.

Another concert was scheduled with the RCO, in September, this year, but he was replaced by Cristian Macelaru. In Bucharest, too (and I've been so much looking forward to listening to Maestro Jansons!). Goodbye, Sir! You spoke the language of my heart of soul as no one else did (or will ever do).
