    Boy Blanche I miss these. When I used to cook Honey. My Siti made them so darn good. We grew Our squash in the garden. You're so right about the Aroma in the House when cooking these too!!! Ty Sweetheart for bringing these for Everyone. I really hope They try them. And the Lamb makes all the difference for the Flavor. We use part ground beef and part lamb*less expensive) and put lamb bones on bottom of pan and cooked the Khousa in w them. Omg Blanche!!! Ty ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

    One of my grown son's fav Lebanese dishes, mine too. I put plenty of lamb bones---or a couple of shanks--on the bottom of the pot. IF the shank meat is left over, it's the best, well after the marrow. Lamb marrow is delicious, don't toss it!

    • @blanchetv
      @blanchetv  Год назад +1

      The filling for the zucchinis is pretty much the same except no tomato puree added, but the yogurt sauce is completely different. Will need another video for that. ;)

    I love the idea of this dish, but traditionally it seems like a meat dish. What would you suggest as a lamb substitute to make this vegetarian? I don't use these beyond or impossible mock meats, is there a 'traditional' substitute or variation?

    • @blanchetv
      @blanchetv  Год назад +1

      HI Justin! This dish is also prepared vegetarian style during certain times of the year (like Lent) They do this by eilimating the meat all together, but they add extra herbs like parsley to the filling. You can also add roughly chopped chickpeas, or crumbled tempeh or seitan if you wish to the filling if you want extra protein. Glad you don't use the mock meats, they are so processed! What you can do is follow this recipe for stuffed cabbage rolls, but use the zucchini instead--it is one of my favorites: ruclips.net/video/v_YQoMURXBw/видео.html
