The way it works in Japan is that the class's number is their school year and they use letters to distinguish between classes. In some other anime schools, the A class are the top students while the lowest letter is filled with the dumb/problem children. I will let you know right now that UA doesn't follow this trend with it's classes (i.e. class A is not inherently better and/or stronger than class B). In case you are wondering, a first year in Japan's schools is equivalent to 10th grade (aka sophomore) in American schools.

If you wanna know why sometimes the screen dims it's because back in the day, I THINK during a Pokemon episode, it got too bright and flashy that someone watching got a seizure. So from that point on, anime started dimming their shows when it got to be too flashy. You'll notice it a lot more throughout the show.

The main character has a job where he basically tries to help decide the "next big thing" and winds up involved in a mystery involving a new type of font that causes seizures. He compares it to the "pika-pika" effect from (to paraphrase) "that episode of a popular Japanese kids show with the electric mouse where the cast gets stuck in a computer". The whole book is kinda like that. Another of his books, _Peeps_ is like that as well, but with parasites instead of pop culture.

Kyoka Jiro is my favorite girl. I love her sarcastic attitude and soft punk look. Also really like how she uses her heartbeat as a weapon! Sadly, she doesn’t get much attention in the first three seasons. I hope she gets more scenes in future episodes.
In the past two season of MHA, they were simuldubing the episodes. Funimation was given the materials to work on the episode early enough that they release the dub version on the same day as the sub, or within two weeks if they couldn't make the same release date. Assuming they will continue the simuldub process for season 4 you might not need to wait for the dub.

Soul - I Just Really Like The Sports Festival!! There’s So Much Character Development For Characters We Didn’t Get To See In The First Season, And, We Get To Meet New Characters!!
What I love about MHA is that when someone mentions "The Best Episode", you legit have to ask for clarification. There are *SO* many fantastic moments throughout the series you really have to split hairs to find a favourite.

Also, even if it was, I don't know about other people, but as long as she did her job properly (which is being a hero, saving people, and all that), one wouldn't get any negative comments from me. I mean, the girl literally put the guy who could vanish her with a touch into a handlock! Not to mention about how caring she is which those she likes. Deku, Iida, Etc. More than once she put her own well-being in peril, Aka, the black whip incident.)
Aaaahhhh I’m literally sitting here smiling from ear to ear shaking! Finally seeing the season 2 intro again and your little Ochako fangirl session at the beginning! Ah this has me so excited I can’t wait! Time to watch… Uraraka is amazing, and this season really made me love her (not saying I didn’t before 💜) She’s wants to do what she loves while also making a living to support her family. It’s the ideal goal and I respect her so much as a character and just as a person. And rewatching this, I realized I really didn’t appreciate this season as much as I should have before. Can’t wait to watch the sports festival with you, I think you’ll love it; has some of my favorite moments from the entire show. I think Iidas shtick and habit of moving is hands around every time he speaks or do anything is inspired by the old old classic power rangers.. where they pose and move around a lot as they give out their banters.. Also his costume design literally looks like a power ranger himself so thats why that idea popped into my head

I'm not sure if anyone has told you yet, but in Japanese schools, the Sports Festival is a yearly thing where they have different competitions and your class is your team and you try to win. There will be standard things like relay races, cheer competitions, bread eating contests, 100 meter dash, and such. Students choose which ones they want to compete in as some these competitions happen at the same time, so you can't be in them all at once. In MHA, they changed it up by making if the students all had super powers and how their sports festival would be now. RWBY is inspired by anime, which is why it was given a sports festival which is not that uncommon in anime to see. Another anime I can thing of that has the sports festival, but the standard version of it instead of a super power version, is Cardcaptor Sakura.

I actually love this episode. It really get you with all emotions. I like IRL, we all got a reason to live life doing what motivates us and our inspirating heroes of tomorrow from MHA. The reason the screen goes dark (which has been happening since episode 1), is to prevent seizures, and it's all because of that Pokémon episode from a while back that put like 100 Japanese kids in the hospital.
The deku scene was a forshadowing for the war arc in the manga...... Ps. The reason why deku didn't have the iron soles and the arm scars are because its only a forshadow
Back when All Might was looking at which teacher Deku got, it said Aizawa had 0 absences. He does not fuck around. But I’m sure someone else already mentioned it.
Whenever animes have lots of bright whites and rapidly moving black/darker colors, the whole screen darkens. This is because they want to minimize the chance of causing seizures, due to a large number of people having seizures during a Pokemon episode (The one with Porygon, that wasn't aired outside of Japan due to all the hospitalizations).
Dont undersell it. Government sanctions, school sponsored first fights between students with super powers that's being televised to international audiences, probably with more than a few people making bets on which minor will beat the other ones up more.
I really hope you do stick with the Dub even if it means waiting a bit for Season 4 :) Personally i just feel like its more emotional and clear. This show in subbed for me has actually felt quite anticlimactic many times, and a few of my favorite jokes in the Dubbed version weren't actually in Subbed. Just personal opinion though, glad you are enjoying the show so much! :)

I'm pretty sure MHA has a simuldub so you probably won't have a problem sticking with the Dub depending on where you watch it from (i think they air on VRV and def on the Funimation site) Dunno what that person was talking about but the voice cast has been great! You'll see in the rest of season 2 but Especially in season 3, the performances are amazing.

The festival is basically a "tournament arc", and it takes up roughly the first half of the Season, but it's pretty dang fun, though.

This is because they want to minimize the chance of causing seizures, due to a large number of people having seizures during a Pokemon episode (The one with Porygon, that wasn't aired outside of Japan due to all the hospitalizations).

I really hope you do stick with the Dub even if it means waiting a bit for Season 4 :) Personally i just feel like its more emotional and clear. This show in subbed for me has actually felt quite anticlimactic many times, and a few of my favorite jokes in the Dubbed version weren't actually in Subbed. Just personal opinion though, glad you are enjoying the show so much! :)

I'm pretty sure MHA has a simuldub so you probably won't have a problem sticking with the Dub depending on where you watch it from (i think they air on VRV and def on the Funimation site) Dunno what that person was talking about but the voice cast has been great! You'll see in the rest of season 2 but Especially in season 3, the performances are amazing.
