Once you master the style and get access to Iai quickdraw you don't have to equip it to use it giving you a free slot for another ability. But if you still want to use it without equipping it you have to do R1+O at the same time as your ki pulse just like in nioh2

Im glad someone is making great videos for this game. Im about 14 hrs in and man some of the bosses are rough i started on hardest difficulty and still don't wanna switch it despite raging a few times. I have gotten better. Theres alot going on in this game with weapons and combat. Switching weapons and arts you have to relearn them all again.
Get into a veiled vow with Ryoma, the item he gives you makes it so you need 1 less matching item piece for the set bonus. For example you’ll only need 1 piece for the Commanding Champion to get the blade flash ki recovery up and the blood gauge up and only 2 for kid recovery rate.
I respect you for taking the time to explore tech in this game; the 1st time I’ve seen this game in a positive light. And no, I don’t listen to reviews, but no one has made the game appear this fluid!

GBG since you like the game so much there are hidden bosses all over the place look for a white knot on trees it indicates that a cave with a hidden boss is nearby they all give the seven military classics which gives you 1 point in everything
This Tech is very awesome I'll say, however it's extremely hard to cancel Violent Gale. Like Frame 1 hard. But this changes how you play the game entirely, especially on saving Ki!
This reminds me of flourish for the spear from nioh 2. Basically you can do any combo chain in any stance with spear but make sure mid animation you swap to high to flourish the end

If you're getting stuck at stage one, here's a relatively simple way to get it. Put on Tastumi-ryu. Press triangle. Immediately **press** R1+right to change stance And then immediately **press** R1+square To activate the vieled art. To practice this, first try to learn to change stances just by pressing R1+ analog. This will require holding R1 for a small duration and then letting it go.
Actually, you can either do R1+square to activate a veiled art or you can just do a blade flesh by pressing R1. The key is holding R1 for just a small duration.
To have a understanding of the first "immediately press", you wanna press as soon as the attack animation starts. So you can do it on a single press of the square or a triangle as well.
So essentially you’re canceling the buffered violent gale / flash attack by overriding it with another input, right? I feel like GBG didn’t really talk enough about the mechanics of how/why this works… I watched the video twice through but couldn’t pick up what he meant
@@MisterArticulate Not anymore needed as they patched in cancels, but I think the issue was that if you hold R1 and then there is a buffer before you can switch styles, but if you let go of R1 then you can switch styles immediately, provided you can give the input.
Dude it’s so funny how the terms we used to be familiar with since nioh is so confusing. Talked to my friend earlier and i accidentally said “ki-flash” which confused us even more lol “Ki pulse” was already ingrained in my brain for years. Blade flash is just annoying because we also have flash attack.

First try this: do a martial art than change stance and Blade Flash (Ki Pulse) don’t do martial arts just ki pulse this will help you understand the timing for your weapon attacks :)
Hmm not necessarily, the stance you have on may be effective when parrying a certain enemies current stance. Meaning: you will regain ki instead of lose ki when parrying that enemy. Blue arrow up next to enemy stance means you will regain ki, red arrow down means you will lose ki. Easier does not exist in this game 😭 it’s just as hard but one gives you ki and the other depletes your ki unless you get all of their attacks blocked until their final combo string!
I know bro but it kinda contradicts the point of it being called a blade flash. It should just be a Ki Pulse instead I guess the difficulty was intentional.
@@The-Legend-of-P there is only one playable stance for your character but there are a few NPCs with a different fist stance thats locked behind them but you can play as them during a mission to use it. Still dumb that so many stances are locked behind NPCs in the first place. Hopefully a DLC will save us from the Katana Supremacy.

In midnight difficulty, even after you parry all the attacks, at most you can do 1 art skill or 2 normal attack and gale before the boss hyper armor or jump backward。 Also gale only recovers ki if the attack land on or guard by the boss, so is there any point to do this technique on the highest difficulty?
Nope midnight is basically just parry simulator and if you’re fighting 2 bosses at once then good freaking luck I did the ally mission where you fight like 8-10 bosses back to back and boy did that take forever to beat not very fun had to leans just about every single fight perfectly I should have just leveled my equipment up

Like you are pretty much limited to parry and the window of dmg output is so low, you are forced to play a certain style, whereas in nioh you can still combo and do all sorts of shenanigans at highest difficulty. Feel like this technique is cool to do it on grunts unit and combo video but not practical against boss at highest difficulty
@@headpower999I wish the regular grunts didn’t have hyper armor like the big guys and bosses do really makes the player feel weak like our hits don’t do much

The way I fight is timing, parry and style. even if at a disadvantage, as long as I look cool and the #1 is there key is get low SPAM SHURIKEN !!!
I found that the Tatsumi Ryu style can flawlessly cancel into any katana stance/move set without worrying about frames and such
