    I was an HVAC Tech for thirty years! In the end I despised it. In Florida we have 160 degree attic's in the peak of our summers. That will kill you! When AC's slowed down in the winter I would do Appliance repair to keep busy. Most HVAC techs don't know appliance repair and vice versa. Six years ago I retired from the HVAC business and only service appliance's now. When I made that change my buddies in the field said I was losing money doing appliance repair instead of HVAC. While it's true the HVAC service tickets are higher profit, I just do a couple of calls more a day and it evens out. HVAC usually take more time as well. Thank you for the great video's!

    Just watched your video, I’ve been in the Hvacr industry for about 15 years and the company I work for now is running me ragged and I’m their top tech I work on everything from kitchen equipment hot & cold and residential havc and appliance work, I’m worn out.. a really good friend of mine had been in the appliance repair for around 25 years and I’m about to switch to 100% appliance repair. Awesome video 👍🏻

    I just had a quick question I have a Maytag and it's giving me an f3 e2 code which means pressure fault on my washer. It seems the pressure hose goes to the tub and to the top of the control board? I don't see a pressure switch like other models the hose goes right into the control board. I tried detaching it on both ends and blew through it. Wondering if you've ever heard of that before because I don't know how to just change the pressure switch do I need to switch that whole board out? It's an mvw 6230 H1

    Is appliance repair still done time and material, or is flat rate the norm now?

    • @theapplianceguy4566
      @theapplianceguy4566  2 года назад +4

      We do flare rate I’m not gonna get paid less for a job because I am fast and know what I am doing. I am also not going to charge a customer more if I send a less experienced tech out that takes longer. Flat rate is the only fair way in my opinion.

    What are some highest pay brand and appliances to repair if one wants to start and be specialized in first?
    I would imagine refrigerator repair normally cost more than washer & dryer.
    Can you talk about what you don't like?

    • @waifung3367
      @waifung3367 Год назад +1

      I know it is a bit late reply, but as a red seal appliance repair tech up here in Alberta Canada, I want to let you know that there is hard to specialized.
      simply because in this trade, it is hard to pick and choose what you want to work on, you are thrown into different types of appliances at first, and being a rookie, you do not get to choose.
      but if I were to answer your question, you want to start with dryer first, because they are the simplest form of appliance out there. just heating element, thermo switches and motor.
