- A French startup is betting that waterways will be the solution to solving some of our congestion problems around cities close to bodies of water. SeaBubbles is currently testing the Bubble, a hydrofoil water taxi that can fit up to four passengers and a pilot. The all-electric vehicle is about the size of a car and can reach speeds of up to 17 mph.
Hydrofoils lift the Bubble's hull above the water, creating a very smooth ride that could help prevent seasickness. SeaBubbles has also partnered with ABB to use the company's software, which will act as the brain of the vehicle and take in all sensor data.
The Bubble has already been tested in Geneva and Paris. SeaBubbles aims to be in 50 water-rich cities in the next 5 years.

Or go to Hong Kong where hydrofoil ferries have been running for 50 years. Much more realistic and economical than ferry-taxi to your door.
Hydrofoils are dwindling worldwide because of costs and seatbelt requirement. SeaBubbles is said to envision a top speed of 25kn, more than half that of Jetfoil and Foilcat, but may not be trouble-free yet. It's a fully submerged foil so comfort should be comparable to the Boeing 929.
nice innovation but not everywhere waterways is available
17 mph top speed. riding bike is faster than this boat.
Ahhh. But can your ride your bike on water?
Ever heard about traffic, Traffic jam?
Maximum speed at cities at rush hours?
What about comfortable ride vs stuck in the traffic jam?
Why don't use existing boats for this project? Lol
A boat can carry more ppl than that
I think safety is the big answer here
Looks like something out of interstellar
The Water Taxi. When you want to die in a car accident, but want to drown too.
You may say there is less dragg.
But you will be pressed to find that a lot of the enrgy is spent lifting the boat off of the water.
Depending on te weight of the cab, this may be significant, compared to sliding on water.
Can it be purchased for person use and whats a cost of one to buy.
They better be available in the great lakes at one point
Doubt the endurance from battery.
In an investment update report, the WGC said increased consumer demand and reversal of extreme bearish speculative positioning could help push gold prices up from their recent 1.5-year lows. The report added they see potential for a rebound even in the face of a strong U.S. dollar.
“The dollar's strength has been one of the most important drivers of gold's performance this year as confrontational trade rhetoric and sanctions has so far played in favor of the U.S.,” the analysts said. “But gold may rebound due to both technical and fundamental reasons.”
