Theories for Why Greg is Still in Middle School

My theory is that the first 9 books are cannon, books 10-13 are loosely based on actual events in Greg's life, and Books 14 and up are Greg's own Fan Fictions.

See I imagine that everything up until Long Haul actually happened, but after getting into high school he started just writing them as fictional stories to seem cooler

@@ArXGamerMC I think the Meltdown and Double Down take place during books 5-6 because Greg mentions his mom taking classes implying she studied during the Fall/ Winter semester at her college. He also visits it during the events of the latter.

My theory (though not perfect) is that every time Greg is about to enter high school, the timeline resets. Timeline 1 consists of the first 8 books (not including Long Haul because it introduces the Pig), and Timeline 2 consists of books 8-18 (Long Haul taking place during the summer of 6th grade due to a meta comment Greg made in Old School). Soon there’ll be a third timeline once Jeff makes more books.

In An Awesome Friendly Kid, Rowley described the lies Greg told him. One of the lies was that Greg has actually lived for 500 years and has to move to new places many times. That makes sense, because in one of the books, Greg's family would buy a new house.

My theory is that greg was normal for about 4 books in long haul he got injured and slowly went insane and everything started to get weirder and he was still in middle school because its just his insane ramblings . He and his family were beat up by the weirdos but he was the only surviver and the other books are also him pretending to still be in middle shool cause thats were his family was and when things were good, that could also be why he gets even worse of a person further into the series

My theory is that it's not in chronological order, well since book 9 and onward. My timeline shows this:
6th grade year: Diary of a Wimpy Kid, then The Long Haul's summer
7th grade year: Rodrick Rules, (happening at the same time as Old School and Double Down), then The Getaway for Christmas, The Meltdown happens during the beginning of The Last Straw. Dog Days is the summer that follows. Diper Overlode happens across this year.

probably in avengers infinity war he was one of the half people on earth which got snapped and returned 5 years later but while he was snapped he was in heaven school which looked like real life on Greg's world

I went to middle school and high school in the same building too. The only class rooms that shared both sides were the band, choir and FCS rooms; the last one at the end of the hallway on the middle school side

Isn’t it possible that time goes by slow for Greg I mean he writes basically almost anything on his diary/journal and a kid like Greg I feel like they think time is super slow for them so they just write constantly and it’s not like it’s going to take a while I mean greg relies on how long he lives to write these pages every day some of them are even past events
