Don’t lie, the only reason why Greg did the RickRoll was just so they can at least be memeable and make everyone forget it’s terrible story and animation quality. (Which flopped so horribly)
Imagine this: It’s World War II. You’re a Soviet soldier venturing through the cold winter snow of the Winter War with Finland. All your comrades who got lost with you died. You’re trapped behind enemy lines with depleting rations. Left to disintegrate into nothingness, you lean against a tree and hope for it to be over… but it doesn’t come. And then it feels god gave you hope. You hear the boots of your comrade and then look up gently to greet your fellow Soviets. Surely they made a breakthrough through the Mannerheim Line… …instead you’re greeted by your terrifying enemy; he dawns a Nazi armband and a surprisingly light outfit for the circumstances. Could this be a hallucination? The blade that sinks into you isn’t. You feel the pained sensation as the mystery soldier walks a few steps away from you and takes out his rifle. Before he ends your suffering, you hear a demonic voice… echoing… “I’m ownny thweeeeeeeee…” *bang*
Yeah, Disney just wants to make Greg a likeable character for anyone who hasn't decided to read the books, because they practically have it in their contracts that the main character always has to either be super likeable or have a super tragic backstory, but also be super likeable. The former fits Greg in these movies, I mean, they turn the kid who common theories say might be a sociopath into a super likeable, average Middle School kid who just happens to get bullied a bunch, and is at most in the first movie just an idiot who wants to be famous (I mean, haven't we all come up with fantasies where we become super cool and crazy famous?), and turn the normally likeable character of Rowley into this dude who steals Greg's comic, doesn't support him in the slightest, and the moment that he gets the slightest touch of fame from both the comic and his cast, he just straight up ditches Greg. I mean, how bad do you have to mess up to get the two main characters roles' reversed on each other!?
My god. When a song knocks you back into the year 2000 with such force its like a PTSD flashback but of nostalgia. Every party I've ever been to that played this song just flashed through my mind, and I was helpless to stop it. Cha-Cha Slide has to be some sort of mind controlling enchantment, some powerful magic, some deep programming.
To be honest, in the right conditions, you could accidentally walk in the women's restroom. This one time, my cousin and I were driving for hours, miles, and we were smoking weed the whole time. We stopped at a Publix for a bathroom break. I was exhausted and high. I walked in the restroom, piss, and when I walked out of the stall I realized this was the women's restroom. As I walked out, and old lady noticed me. Luckily I was wearing a green polo shirt, I told her: the toilets are no longer clogged ma'am. She believed me.
unironically are bathrooms even really an issue? there have been dozens upon dozens upon dozens of times that ive gone to use the men's bathroom at the park or some shit and just found a gaggle of chicks in there. or seen dudes walk into the girl's bathroom bc the men's was free. nobody i've ever even met just in passing has really... cared about them until these last few years. is this just a florida thing???
I can confirm that it's easy to walk into the wrong bathroom when you're not thinking fully. I once accidentally walked into men's room at my school when I was pretty sick and tired, also because I have another class on the floor below that one where the layout is pretty much identical but with the men's and women's restrooms swapped.
I don’t think the movie was trying to show that all teens were emo kids or skaters or vandalizers. I think those are just the kinds of people Rodrick hangs out with. I doubt he would invite any “nerds” to a party.

when my parents leave, I'm on my laptop playing tf2, left 4 dead, and the master chief collection with da boys and my brother will drop by and drop some food off sometimes, but we got leftovers.
I agree with the 2D design thing but the movies are also incredibly rushed and leave out major parts to the story. They also change the story and the characters, it's understandable to change the movie slightly so it's not identical to the book but they changed a little too much. Also they changed the characters personalities, Frank's not the depressing deadbeat of a father he is in the books, Susan's not the embarrassing, controlling mother she is in the books (atleast not as much), Rodrick is more of an arsehole than he is in the books, heck they change the pickup truck teenagers in the first movie, changing the leader role from the one with long hair to the one with no jaw.
I saw this movie for the first time, last night, and thought it was really great. :) I find it funny, though, how they changed the story from Greg infiltrating the girls locker room at the high school to him sneaking into a bingo game and winning the grand prize. Guess the original was too inappropriate for Disney. :P
the 2D artstyle might work for short scenes but I can't imagine it working for an entire movie. It only allows for one single camera angle, which would turn really stale after a while. The translation of it to 3D is still awkward but it wouldn't've been better in 2D, the style's just not suited for that
