Full Tier List for people who want it: tiermaker.com/...
This literally took so long to make because I had to order every book, and read every single one of them, and the movies, and the Rowley books. This is singlehandedly my biggest project ever, and I hope you all enjoy.
Fun Fact: I was supposed to also rank Big Shot, (The newest book in the series) but it didn't come out yet for where I lived so I couldn't buy it.

Its funny because you realize that Jeff makes a reference of himself running out of ideas. In hard luck, Greg mentions reading a book series called the slumber party pals, mentioning that the writer may have been running out of ideas.
I don't think it is a reference.
I always thought it was a jab at that horrible girl version of wimpy kid

One thing I also like about the diary of a wimpy kid books is that all of the books, or at least the first 10 that I have read, are all 217 pages long, which makes it seem like all of Greg's diaries were bought at the same place.
whoa whoa whoa, as Greg stated very emphatically at the start of the first book, it's a JOURNAL, not a diary
DOAWK: Rodrick rules has 220 pages.
So no
@@jovankabroz6858 it has 217, I literally have all the books bro

Oh wait i have the first 3 books and i understand.
My books are translated meaning the USA ver has 217 pages and mine 224 pages
All have 217 pages
Rodrick Rules is regarded as the best one because Rodrick was the one character who was genuinely relatable and likeable throughout the entire series.
That's actually true, I personally really liked that one because of rodrick
Not really
I really think it was a missed opportunity to not call DOAWK THIRD WHEEL, Diary of a Simpy kid.
He was annoying at some points but sure
I mean, there’s actually a recent (1-year-old) Wimpy Kid book, which I like, because it’s specifically focused on Rodrick and his band, instead of Greg and his family and friends. Even if Greg is telling the story to us. It’s called Diper Överlöde. Great book. Go read it.
I love everything about old school, the running away, the backstory, the Girl Scouts, hard scrabble farms, etc
Yea its a great book
Fr a great book
I need to re read that cause i forgot the plot. It's been like 7 years since then

the big shot book was another one of the one plot books, it was alright, kept me in the action a little, but it didn't go off topic at all which is how I like the books. The meltdown however, was pure gold. If you say otherwise your opinion ID is false. It developed the rivalry between the 2 sides of Surrey Street extremely well.
Yeah I totally agree
(Big shot) uhh why did you tipe that in
I agree, But I don’t think the deep end was that bad
I liked the exploration of surrey street in the meltdown although I personally found that the meltdown was just so rushed, like in the first book it was at a slow pace and an entire conversation would span two pages. I’m not saying that the meltdown is bad I just feel like the books are drifting from the original material
@@mreclipse7957 true, in the first 5 pages it went from global warming to robot takeovers
The girl named Trista is mentionedin dog days as "Then we made a mistake of inviting this girl named Trista who'd just moved into our neighbourhood. I thought it would be really nice of us to share our country-cub lifestyle with her. But five seconds after we got to the pool she met some lifeguard and forgot all about the guys who'd invited her there." As mentioned on page 3. What I like about this tier list:
1. You actually served justice to hard luck and meltdown, I swear people HATE meltdown because they just don't like it
2: You actually put Double Down in the correct spot. Its great in my opinion.
What I don't like about it:
1. Dog Days was way too boring. It should be a C but close enough.
2. I have NO idea how you could put getaway so low. Tbh its great
Not trying to be mean, just stating my thoughts on the books.
Ya I really like the getaway actually, idk why some people dont
Your right with dog days being boring i swear i almost fell asleep reading 💀
The getaway is a okay book, and I used to not like dog days but I like it now

lmao
My favourite was Hard Luck. Greg was actually not much of a jerk as he usually is, and honestly wasn't wrong for being upset that Rowley ditched their friendship for a girl. Susan wasn't as annoying and did seem fair to Greg. His failed friendship with Fregley, and his crazy family, and his selfless desicion to not use the ring and break up the family and rekindling his friendship with Rowley was great. Also, screw Abagail, she used Rowley to get back with her cheating ex-boyfriend.

Good points.
Actually I think hardluck sucks cuz it's very boring

Im reading it right now and It’s my first wimpy kid read, I really love itt
Perfect editing, perfect commentary /comedy, perfect ranking, perfect video, perfect haircut, and perfect video.
lmao thx for the nice words
5:15 the Ugly Truth does have a consistent theme. Its about Greg having all these expectations about growing up then finally having those experiences and his expectations not being met. Thats why its called the ugly truth. The ugly truth is that growing up isn’t what he thought it would be.
Did yall notice how in Hard Luck, literally in the entire book, there are hidden plastic eggs in most of the drawings?
I’ve never noticed that, but that’s actually such a cool detail

i gotta read hard luck again
Yep, weren’t they the plastic eggs from meemaw (or how his great-grandmother is called)? 😂🥚
I always kept counting and losing track of them when I was younger lol
The thing I like about hard luck is the attention to detail, at one early point before you even know about the egg ring is that you can see the egg in the log pile on an earlier page 116 the egg is on the log pile. The same one he eventually finds on 214 that has the ring.
there are eggs everywhere in that book
@@davisvoelzke8011 yea, and you know how greg finds the ring in the egg thats in the log pile? Earlier on page 116 is that same log pile, with the egg in it, it’s consistent too since she put her ring in the egg the last year, which already happened by page 116.

I loved the deep end because I was so disappointed from the wrecking ball having a somewhat predictable ending for me. I love how Jeff Kinney was able to really come up with the most unpredictable plot twist and actually provide the Heffleys’ a happy ending for once

Some people think that the wimpy kid series gets worse after cabin fever.
The Meltdown is by far my favorite book in the series. I loved the giant snowball fight at the end of the book. I also liked how there were able to bring back the mingo kids and make them an important part of the story.

The dad in the movies (Specifcally Rodrick rules) is the funniest thing from any of the movies. He's literally the best and steals the show anytime he's on screen
Amen to that, Steve Zahn is the best

I think the meltdown is my favorite one, but mainly because of the epic battle. I prefer meltdown over cabin fever. I dont think the deep end was bad, I mean, the idea of a trip has been repeated but its still a good book. Most of this is correct, but the new book (Big Shot) is a solid A. Im not a huge basketball fan but I enjoy the plot and the storyline with some of the people from the other books returning. Also, the girl in the 1st movie that you dont know of is Holly Hills.

This made me so nostalgic. I can’t be the only person wondering when all these books released, when I was a kid there was only like 5-6 of them
There is like 1 book coming out every year or so
When I was a kid they didn’t exist until I was like 10, I read the first 3 and then I got too old for them and stopped reading.
When I was like, eight, my older sister was super excited that the ninth book was being released. I remember when I used to be excited about these books being released. Now, whenever I see there's a new one, it's like, "Oh yeah, that's still going on."
I stopped reading after number 8. I knew about the 9th coming out but after that it went completely off my radar. Next time I heard about the series I see it has 6 new books that I'd never heard of.

4:16 Actually, Sweetie is referenced and shown a couple times in later books after being given to Greg's grandma by Frank and we see he's gotten really fat to the point of being immobile because Greg's grandma overfeeds him. The Getaway has to be my favorite book in the series *in my opinion.* The Long Haul had a completely different structure, they were on a road trip with random things happening the whole time, like Double Down. The Getaway took place in a paradise-island place, where they explored places which made absolute sense to be there, it felt like an actual exploration of the island, and the entire book was incredibly relatable and spot on, the airplane section is relatable even if you have never gotten on an airplane. *JEFF MANAGED TO DO THAT,* and the island part was relatable, the things that happened there are still relatable when you go to hotels, motels, or rent rooms in a place you don't know.

Yeah same my favourite was the getaway too and the last straw
Getaway is my favourite too!! Followed by old school
I really liked Getaway too honestly.
My friend quagga made me a skatepark, I never knew cause I was on the toilet currently pooping green poop, he texted me even though I dropped my iPhone 90 and started crying blood, next he broke in to my house at 3:00 AM, I then told him I think he should stop, then he proposed to me.. I said ayo pauseee, he thought I was joking, he told me he loved me,
Then I shot myself in the head with my AK under my bedroom pillow. Sadly, quandale dingle saved me and took the bullet, now I have to find a way to convince the police that I didn't do it, AND I have to hide the body. Tuff life.
A wimpy kid's diary would tear him to pieces
I remember when this series first came out and my whole friend group hopped on it. Having only the first book and then having to either wait on the book fair or when mom takes you to Walmart so you can pester her to buy you the new one was a challenge though. I stopped reading before hard luck since I aged out of it and all the new books just don’t hit the same as the first 4.

Getaway is my favorite DOAWK book. It might be similar to long haul, but honestly when the heffleys get in trouble, it is on a way larger scale. It just has that one specific feeling that makes the book better. Honestly, I respect your opinion tho
getaway is my favourite to #bestwimpykidbook
Same. It doesn’t feel like a Long Haul ripoff because the kind of vacation is completely different, so they do way different things, while still being slightly realistic/relatable
yeah, the "when heffleys get in trouble, heffleys run" thing was so funny to me haha
Chaze did you know the magic 8 ball in hard luck is a reference to it being the eighth book out of the whole wimpy kid series
They really r one of the best series I have ever read. So easy and actually enjoyable
"manny is a gremlin from hell" and "Greg's mom is hypocrite" killed me. Love your sense of humor man, keep up the good work.
The first Wimpy Kid book I read was "Double Down" and "The Getaway" from my friend. And continued the rest of the series thanks to one of my cousins. I currently have Book 4, "Dog Days," and I can never stop rereading it.
I was a bit mad about your opinion about The Deep End. I was actually hissing at my tablet. I have an opinion too. I think Dog Days and The Deep End were good. My favorite part in Dog Days is when Greg writes an SOS email to his mom on Rowley's dads laptop. He wrote "Help help, get me out of here. These people are driving me crazy." That was the funniest thing ever.
I agree with that the second movie is the best! I love when Greg said “U let Rodrick play in the talent show, I’ll do the magic thing with Rowley” 🤣 I love all the books though.
I think the main problem with the long haul film is that it takes to much stuff that wasnt in the book and completely ruined it, the movie had potential but they just completely ruined it.
I stopped after the long haul so I’m interested to see how the later books are. I first got into the series with a box set when there were only six books.
Keep doing vids!❤ Your editing skills are crazy!😮
Bro I read and reread all the books made when I was in second grade. It’s pretty hard to keep me entertained for days but this series is enough to help me a lot.
16:39 the sleepover with Fregley does happen in the books
I’ve read every book in this series and no matter how bad I think the book is I still think even the worst one is still a good book in general, that doesn’t mean it’s a good wimpy kid book, it just means that it’s a good regular book but in wimpy kid terms it’s not
Here Are My Opinion Of Those Rank:
S (Perfect)
A (Nice/Good)
B (Ok)
C (Bad)
D (Crap)
&
Not Count
18:35 that would be concerning if some people took it that way because they are literay blood related brothers
You’re wrong the dog (Sweetie) was mentioned in Diary of a wimpy kid: The Long Haul 4:12
And hard luck i think
And The deep end
And I think cabin fever
And cabin fever when Greg mentions that the dog is getting more food than him
And meltdown
12:00 w cuphead
Your editing is stellar! Especially that intro, amazing job!
I really like most of your opinions. Personally really like the first 8 books with a passion
