Never thought of you as a fan boy, actually I think your reviews rank right up there with TFL. The biggest thing is that your format makes it feel like I’m talking with a buddy not just watching a BS review.
I’m a diesel guy. Have owned 5 in my lifetime and numerous tractors. I just purchased a 2500 6.4 gas with 410 gears. I am terrified of the emissions on the new trucks. My last diesel was a 2015 Cummins with 320000 miles. Deleted the truck at 20k miles and it ran flawlessly until I dropped a valve last week. They are making it impossible to delete them now.
I bought a 2021 Tradesman and it has HO Cummins and Aisin, rear air suspension, 8.4 inch screen, dual 440 amp alternator, snow prep package, 4.10 rear end,50 Gal fuel tank, brake controller, camera in tailgate, but I added running boards, auto start, fifth wheel prep, spray in liner. I paid 60k Feb 2021.
@akkowll I am looking at an out of state 2022 tradesman same as your description but 3:73 and no air suspension. How is the road noise in the cabin?? I will use it to haul my travel trailer and I am curious if the lowest trim level is all that noisier than say a Laramie ???????
Ram laid an egg when they failed to adopt the same cab as the 1500s and then increased the price to a point where they were no longer the value brand. They have become prohibitively expensive for an “old” truck.
Another great review as always. The price on that truck is absolutely ridiculous, and to see the side by side comparison of the window stickers truly makes it worse! Ram used to be the way to go for value, options, and pricing. Certainly not anymore. You couldn't even lease this truck for a decent price if that's all you could do cause lease prices are not even reasonable anymore.
Why did they quit putting in a manual stick shift. I prefer the HO Cummins with 410 rear-end. I used to pull heavy loads several times a week and it sure makes it nice. If you have to open up gates all the time the manual seat is the easiest for a person who is by themselves opening gates in heavy winds. Also, do they put in a gooseneck hitch for a person or at that outrageous price you still have to pay someone to put the gooseneck in the bed of your truck? I think you might see trucks not selling due to the outrageous prices.
I am a long time Ram fan, have owned about 9 of them over the years, and I am not even 40 yet. I will say the price hike for what seems like the same product makes zero sense. I am in between trucks and may not go back. GMC/Chevy is on my scope now when it never was in the past.
My uncle had push button start in his 1946 peterbuilt.. you turn on the power with a key and then pull compression release and push the button. Let the compression release go and the iron lung Cummins will start.
I have been seeing a lot of 2022 Cummins engines needing rebuilt at 100000 miles on a channel where a guy owns a fleet of hotshot trucks. 2022 seems to be the only problem year for him!
Hey looks GORGEOUS The dealership ordered a Tradesman In options I like but I’m going to wait because prices and incentives should be around the corner. The price increases are out of control. They increase prices $10,000 more so they make you think your getting a deal
Priced out a gas big Horn the other day on their website. And with the options that I wanted “Which wasn’t much“. Was $65,000….. yeah hell no. And a tradesmen wasn’t that much less Hell I priced a Ford XL WITH the 7.3. And the price was almost identical to the tradesman with the hemi. I’m honestly tempted
At this point in today’s world we better start / continue with the side hustle. For me if it’s a need or even just a want I figure out what I need to do to get whatever it may be though working more does takeaway from home time. I have a 2020 2500 Cummins, and I’d like to upgrade to a 3500 in the future. I would like to see some changes for the truck overall, but the driveline itself I’m very impressed. On a side note we all know that deep down you miss your Ram!
They have to get the 1500's cab on the HD's and source a 8spd-10spd HD transmission. You can't beat the pulling and stopping from Ram, but everything else is outdated and behind the other two.
I was looking at getting a Ram, but I feel the same way. I will not get another RAM. Unless they change everything AND come down at least $15 Grand. This is Greed plain and simple and now Ford if following into the same pit. Right now my plan is a GMC but we will see how they respond.
Do you live in Utah? If so, what city? I live in Coalville. Your videos have been really helpful. I'm going to be buying a truck to haul a 5th wheel soon so I'm doing some research. You've made it easier on me so thanks.
I bought a 2019 ram 3500 cummins HO aisin srw 4x4 level 2 Tradesman with crome for 54k out the door from Larry H Miller from Avondale. Has cargo capacity of 4315 pounds.
Do you see Ram Dually crew cab with 6.4 hemi that's hard to find truck, I have 2014 with 6.4 hemi with 3.73 gear my personal truck i use to pull my 24ft toy hauler
I bought a Ram Lone Star 3500 HO, navigation and had Midnight edition for $76,000. Now for that price, you can barely get a tradesman w/o navigation and midnight edition. Ram prices are outrageous, esp when they have not changed anything.
That's insane. They've been doing that to the towing capacities retroactively as well. A 2021/22 may now be rated lower than the actual sticker on the door. My 2017 6.7 3500 is 12,300 gvwr and an insane 4300 payload. It feels like all these numbers are meaningless or controlled by regulations or bean counters worried about warranty work.
@@wtbman I test drove a 2022 with 45XX pounds of payload and pretty much the same specification as the one I ordered and mine is 3951. Not even 4k pounds. 😞
They are all too much money. But if you need one, you're stuck. I was planning on ordering a 2023 Ford since I missed out on the 2022's last year. We spent most of the winter traveling down south, starting in Texas. Well, guess which state got a crap-ton of 2022 duallys that needed to be sold off first. Very minimal on any kind of deals, but I was finally able to get my upgraded tow vehicle. But here's something interesting. My truck is a Lariat, and it also has close to a 5400 lb payload. It has many power options, a 48 gal tank, the factory puck system, and the sunroof as well. That H.O. motor and Aisin must weigh more than you think.
No damn way for a lowly tradesman. Even though I can afford most of the trucks there is no way I am paying these stupid prices. I will stick with my lowly GMC 2500 SLE gasser. Lack of reliability in these diesel trucks now take away all the value in paying so much more for them.
Why he not saying about hydraulic lifters which can start knocking at 20000 miles and aisin trans which fails in first week after purchase specially on 2023
I think this is actually the Quad Cab and not the Crew, which would make it even smaller. My first 2012 RAM SLT was a Quad Cab and I originally thought it was the crew. They are small, because they are basically an extended cab that has the front hinged doors. The Crew Cab I have now is much larger, still not the Mega but it works for me. The prices are outrageous. $74,000 for a base model truck??? There is a 2019 RAM 3500 Limited at a dealer near me, that is the crew cab with the 8' box and they are asking$43k for it. It's been for sale for more than 2 months. It is the 6.4L hemi, rather than the diesel, but I would think it is still a good truck. If both of these trucks were siting next to each other, I would pick the 2019 for features and cost alone.
I got tired of waiting for RAM to do a real update to the same truck they have been selling for like the last 13/14yrs I gave up and went to a GMC DENALI
You nailed it JB, 'why are they doing it, because they can'. I hope Ram sinks like the Titanic, after the way they are screwing folks who need a truck.
You're forgetting the major overhaul of the 6.7 Cummins motor in 2019 (CGI block and hydraulic lifters) and all the associated issues (bad EGR valves) with the new motor. Also the frame is different (stronger, thinner steel). Some people keep calling this a 4.5 gen truck but really it qualifies as a 5th gen since so much has changed. I wouldn't buy a 2023 until I'm sure they worked out the issues with the emissions systems the '22s had (check out PD Diesel Power's channel on YT). Also don't forget the Aisin transmissions issues with snap rings (I forget which years affected). I'm not sure how this all compares to Ford or GM for reliability but you need to well informed before you drop an insane amount of $$$ on a new Ram. I just got a low mile 2017 4th gen with reliability these new trucks can't touch.
It's funny how everyone complains about price for any product but companies don't care because ppl but. So if your buying a truck because of price and affordability that's on you. If your paying a high price because you want the brand you want, that's on you. You can't ever talk price if someone else is willing to pay.
You are not very smart they want you to finance and not pay cash. This Is every dealership goal now. So stop buying from those dealerships. Easy to solve.
Ram has definitely went from first to last on bang for your buck! They also have a big advantage in labor cost with these trucks being built in Mexico. Got tired of waiting on a real update and ordered a 23 Superduty, actually was cheaper than Ram on comparable truck, more payload bigger cab!🤷🏻♂️
If you don’t have the money to buy it then don’t buy it 🤷♂️ Or choose to keep crying about the prices and yes it does suck that these prices are so high, but its gonna only get higher since people keep buyin em.

@@thomastrujillo2917 noise is normal. I carry on conversation no problem. I have cloth seats which might help.

And made in mexico. Ford is made in Kentucky, USA!
But reliable too and easy to source parts since they aren’t constantly changing

Inflation.
I 100% agree the prices are disgusting and it’s pushing me to their competition
If you don't work your truck to its limit, go cheby and gmc. People who makes their trucks work to there limits go for ford and ram fiat.
I bought my 2021 3500 Limited DRW with HO Cummins for $78500 after dealer discounts back in February 2021. The HD truck market is ridiculous today.
My 2019 had the cp3 pump installed thru the recall.

Biden economics. there is no confusion or wondering why.
