Having worked within and the at cusp of food and physical and health sciences, I absolutely defy the point made here about career opportunities and travel and pay. opportunities are scant and despite there being diverse options available, recruiters would usually ask for 10-15 years of experience in a sub-sector of the field as well. That's unnatural and demotivating. It may be big in the US and the UK, but India definitely has leaps to move in terms of understanding and offering for the aspirants!

See i am also doing food science and technology currently in 1st year.
It's particularly a good course only if you are interested in the subjects and also in this field overall. You can definitely go for it but you will have to work extra hard to make a career out of it since core jobs that pay well are quite less here. Other important thing is choosing bsc or btech now that is your call to take. I can not state which one is better than the other you will have to see that for yourself. Next is pls pls pls go for a government college rather than a private one because of lack of opportunities and overall waste of time that happens in private universities is a big big drawback.

4 lakh for a year is a lie I m not getting any job as. A food science person i have done my MSc and i am a fresher and getting offer's of 2 lakh per year not even 3 lakh

Yes it's a lie, I'm a BTech food technology degree holder and I have 4ys of exp for my 1st job I get 1.3lkh and now it's 3.5lakh and don't expect more than 2lakh for freshers.
