I feel like part of it had to do with the mindset and setting. In the early 90s Real World, it was easy for every housemate to eventually get sick of Puck because they were trying to have this house where they all felt comfortable and could kick back and have fun, so Puck was kind of a problem in general for the atmosphere. But put similar people in a setting like this, where the atmosphere is aggressive and competitive, the producers are pushing for more conflict and drama, everyone’s encouraged and rewarded for being cunning and cynical. Even if they don’t realize it, their mindset can adjust to their circumstance and surroundings, and in this kinda scenario Puck isn’t as much of an outsider, he’s more representative of someone who is at home in this environment and everyone else doesn’t feel as put off by him as a result.

I agree, but you really just have to let these two handle it themselves. If they can't talk it out then hand them some boxing gloves or make Puck hand over an agreed amount of cash or something. Kicking him off the show for spit seems a little radical, but not punishing him in some way is intolerable. It's just such a childish thing that it's hard to deal with as a producer or director. Eye for an eye works, but who wants to sink that low. In the early days of the real world you'd get kicked off for dragging someone around on their comforter, nowadays they kick you off if you don't punch someone, it's sad.

@@Worker2Boss Puck should have gone home, but what you didn't see was David fighting with Ayanna to the point where she was ready to put hands on him, fighting with Piggy (who actually had to be removed), spitting on Beth, etc. He was getting into fights with a lot of the cast so that's why he was hated by them. Jisela talked about this recently in an interview. This drama is why they started filming everyone immediately before the Challenges started because they missed a lot.

If Puck did physically abuse his gf/wife, he should have never been invited to the show to begin with. It seems he's had multiple charges since this aired, so it's probably fair to say, he probably did.
