- A lot of people have asked me to do a video while painting my nails, so that's what we're doing today. Hopefully you'll find my hands to be less creepy than the manicure practice hand from last night's video. :)

wish i had strong nails omg mine are so flimsy they bend all the way back for no reason OMG
Sally Hansen makes a nail strengthener polish. It's clear with a pink tint. It works very, very well. I'd also recommend prenatal vitamins; nails that bend like that might be a sign of vitamin deficiencies. 💕
Try painting them frequently or keeping a base coat on them. If I’m being honest with you, you’ll never be able to reach Mary’s length with your real nail. To get your nails that long you have to have naturally strong nails, I’m the same way as Mary and I don’t do anything to my nails. But you can get them to grow out :) nail polish will help them be strong
do u put acrylic over ur nails bc acrylic nails can make them weak
I've never had acrylics before. My natural nails are thin. One time i accidentally switch on the plug and it broke all the way to the middle

i think the exact same thing when i see dislikes within the first hour or so of the video. its crazy.. but it helps the yt algorithm though!
Sometimes I dislike videos by accident cause I was walking around with my phone in my hand or in my pocket without locking my phone so I could totes see a dislike being a mistake too

You should check out the brand Holo Taco by the youtuber simplynaillogical. I think it might be kinda expensive but it's cool stuff. Check out her peel off base coats. It would be perfect for you with how often you paint your nails.

I use to work as a phone rep in a call center for this catalog company....these ladies use to call in and give their phone orders. some of them use to be literally shopping while theyre on the phone...turning a 10 minute phone call into a 40 min phone call 🙄 other ppl complained...me? I was soothed by their lovely relaxing voices. you sound a bit like some of them. so soothing. happy I found this channel!! love this !!! 😍

A “tip” is to use an old angled makeup brush instead of q tips to remove any mistakes. Whenever I use q tips I always get fuzz on my nail and it drives me nuts. Plus there’s less waste!

YES omg I’ve always wanted an asmr video where you can actually SEE the nails being painted and I haven’t found any!! I mean yes there are some with applying acrylics but this is much nicer. Thank you Mary! ❤️❤️❤️

I’m going to try the base & top coats that you used here. I’ve only had a few manicures myself and a bad habit of peeling the polish off when I paint them myself. My fantasy self wants nice nails all the time.

What you need is a shot glass or other small cup to put the q tip in so you don't have to keep picking it up from the flat table surface.

If you roll the nail polish bottle in your hands instead of tapping/ shaking it it helps to prevent bubbles and it will last longer in the bottle!

If you haven’t already, idk if you have because I watch all of your videos🙃❤️ but Could you maybe make a video of you using the nail polish remover contraption thing please? I fall asleep every night to your whisper/inaudible whisper videos because I don’t have a good sleeping schedule and i usually can’t sleep. I try and other amar channels, but for some reason whenever I find other channels, I can’t stand listening to them. It’s not because they are doing anything wrong, I just find most of them annoying because they aren’t as interactive as you. You are the only asmrist that I can listen to and watch all the time! As a scientist I can't use base coat, for some reason if I do and put gloves on (which I do a million times a day), it pulls the nail polish of entirely 😂 like perfectly inside each finger you see a perfect nail left behind. So I stopped using it and now I'm fine lol 🤷

Hahaha, I didn’t think the manikin hand was creepy but I did go to cosmetology so I had to do work on not just fake hands but fake heads!

Mary was blessed with by God with amazing nails😂😭❤️. I wish my nails could be stronger. My nails grow fast, but once they get to a certain length.. they always break😭. Even when I had acrylics, once they got to that certain length, they would break🤦🏻♀️(not as easily though, and not all of them). I honestly don’t know what it is.. I guess my nails hate that length🤷🏻♀️😂.
Edit: I’m gonna be doing my own nails now, but Polygel nails, so hopefully that works out🤞🏼. But I mean since I’ll be doing them myself, whenever I need to fill them, I can!😊 So no worries lol.

I can’t believe some people don’t put base coat on. Like Mary said it helps from staining and it makes your polish last longer but it also helps get the polish off so much easier. Always put a base coat on :)
Try the Sveché quick dry top coat! It’s so shiny, keeps polish from chipping, it dries fast & smooths out any imperfections. It has almost a gel like finish. I’m a nail tech and this is the only top coat I use! ❤️ you can get it at Sally’s or target I believe!

So calming. Thank you for making this. Have you used the Seche Vite top coat? It's the one that you apply to still-wet polish and it cures it super fast. It's fumey but no more waiting for my polish to dry all the way. I use it with the Seche Base coat. Nails dry in seconds. 💗

For your rough surfaced thumbnail I recommend that you try a smoothing base. I don’t have a specific brand to recommend though. 😊❤️

I have a recommendation for your broken nail! Try out a ridge filler base coat to make your nail smooth again before you put polish on. My favorite is the smoothing base from Holo Taco :)
I’m always impressed that people can operate with long nails. Mine get the slightest bit long and it drives me NUTS so I cut them off lol. But I get that way with my hair too!

Also you are absolutely right, there's no right way to put nail polish on and people should do it how ever they feel comfortable. I say this as a formerly trained cosmetologist. We were taught (among other things) nail care which included putting on polish. The technique we were taught helped minimize the amount of polish that gets on the sides of your finger or down at the base of your nail, it helps avoid streakiness, and to make sure the nail is fully covered but goes on the assumption one is doing two coats. The thing is with the improvement of nail polish it gets easier to apply (in general).
I personally have to always use quick dry products because my nails will never dry if I use normal polish 😂.
Your nails always look so beautiful. Consider starting with polishing your pinky finger after your thumb, so you're not reaching over wet nails. Anyways, it works for me. Love from Ohio!

Did Mary say anything on here about doing two coats of colour? I dont think she did but I may have missed it, I always use 2 coats and then a top coat but no base coat 🤔
My mom always had nails of steel, like you! In her mid-50s (after menopause) all of a sudden they became incredibly weak. She's on that acrylic life now!
