Excellent video - you are my go to channel to hone apple skills. Seperately I finally got an apple support person that thought out of the box yesterday, and verified the bug I found with Monterey reminders.
Thanks for your tutorial… I have always use (because my job) a windows operative system (office with it) Mac in numbers has a kind of iPad numbers … Do you have tutorials for numbers in iPad? I think young people will change Mac’s to iPad in a short time Best regards
Great videos. I’m trying to do an expense tracker. How do I have the one cell continue to update the current balance as I deduct and deposit funds?? Would love some help on that. Thanks
Thank you so much, the lookup one seems very useful. Here’s an idea for a video that will go viral: I want to make a Midjourney prompt generator that has several columns (artist, technique, subject, background) that each go into a drop down menu for each one, then once you have chosen each result it can output it as a string of text that can be copied and then pasted into the Midjourney prompt field. Can numbers do that?
Excellent video! Is there a way to make the secondary window (like the one used for the Average section) to remain in place when scrolling the data chart (with a locked header)?
Not sure what you are asking. If you want things that are important to you to be near each other, just design your spreadsheet document with that in mind.
I have a spreadsheet with a header, and has 500 rows, how can I split the view so I can see rows where I am working, and I can see the totals row at the bottom at the same time. Excel does it but not sure if IOS iPad numbers does this. Haven’t been able to find this.
Hi Gary, I spend a lot of time to view your great video's!! Thanks a lot!!! Now, is there something like "macro" in Excel for Numbers? So far, I didn't find something on your video's. The meaning is to arrange the imported data of a whole spreadsheet with a shortkey. Have a nice day! Jack
No, there are no Macros. But you can use AppleScript or JavaScript to do similar things. It helps if you know how to code. See ruclips.net/video/Wjf1QHKHPpI/видео.html
@@macmost Thank you Gary! I will watch this video. I already use Automator but with the standart menu's and not with AppleScript or Javascript. Anyway, thank yo very much for your replay!!! Greetings from Belgium ;-) Jack
hope you can help; I watched this video but you didn't cover this point. When I'm in Numbers and I select a cell, the outline (lines themselves used as a border) are so thin and faint I can't see them. I know how to change borders of a cell but this is in the 'select' mode. Is there a way to thicken these lines so I can see what is selected?it is not like this in iPad OS. Hope you can help; thanks
Hi Gary :) Maybe you can help me. I've created a budgeting spreadsheet in Numbers. One of the tabs is a 'no spend day calendar'. What I'd like to do is have a specific date cell (eg. 1.01.23) automatically highlight (go red) when the same date is input in the 'spending log' tab (where I input all my spendings). I know how to colour the cells, all cells are formatted to date in both tables. Is there a way to do that?
I have two sheets: One for many cars movements, one for traffic. Fines on many cars. I need to be able to compare both sheets and see if any of the fines has no registered movements. I’m struggling on creating formulas for this. Any advise.
how to get Month Name (like January, February etc) from a Date which is formatted like ( 1 Januar 2022 or 1/1/2022) ... I want to extract Month from a date and want to sum month matches...
You give me so much motivation and inspiration with all your videos, because I self also make Mac videos.
As usual, jam packed with great information and inspiration to use it and learn more! You are my go-to, Gary!
When my friends and family say im so knowledgeable about Apple stuff i tell them i learnt everything from you👍
Thank you, Gary, this helped a lot. Now I'm playing around with stats and amazing myself with what I can do.

Excellent, thank you so much!
I love your videos. It's fun when I mutter to myself "I knew that one!". Many I learned from you.
This video is going to be so useful, awesome information 👏
I love these videos...very well done and so informative
Excellent information shared. Thank you.
Brilliant. Thanks!
Thanks Gary!!

A lot of what I teach will work on both Mac Numbers and iPad Numbers. But I focus on Mac mostly do I do these tutorials on a Mac.
Thank you very much for your sharing
Nice video Gary!
thank you for the tutorial! it is very informative.
Thanks for sharing this information

Thanks Gary❤️

Depends how you have it set up. But SUM is probably the key function you want.
@@macmost ok thx
Wow. What a long way and improvement from using VisiCalc on my Apple IIe.

No idea what Midjourney is, but you can do this with Numbers and pop up menu cells and then just simple text concatenation like =A1&B1&C1 and so on.

Not really, no.
@@macmost Bummer! Thanks for the reply!
How did you create the "Calculations" cells to the right of the "Sales" ones? Great videos
Do you mean the second table there? Click the Table button in the toolbar to add a new table.
@@macmost Thanks I actually figured it out a little later. Great videos keep up the good work
Thank you for everything. How did you get sales and calculations in the same window?
Not sure what you are asking. If you want things that are important to you to be near each other, just design your spreadsheet document with that in mind.
@@macmost I believe he wants to know how you got two tables in the same sheet.
@@reimers2liberia You can add as many tables to the same sheet as you like. Just use the Tables button at the top to add a new one.

on Home Budget, when I add a category, it will not sync it with the transactions I add

Sounds like a screen resolution or brightness issue? The selection border shouldn't be hard to see.

Yes. Use Conditional Highlighting. ruclips.net/video/-4wn6-f4gRg/видео.html

That sounds like a complicated task. Perhaps team up with someone with some spreadsheet experience?
Let's say there Column A zeroes and ones and there are weekdays in the Column B. How to make it count how many ones occurred on Fridays?
COUNTIFS
Hello Gary .. I am getting error on starting my Mac “ Expecting value : line 1 column 1( Char0)
Hard for me to guess what is wrong without seeing the formula that is generating that error.

Answered your question in the MacMost Q&A forum.
how to multiply numbers in Apple Numbers?
Just multiply them. Like if you want to multiple A1 by B1 then the formula would be =A1*B1
Would love to learn more but these videos are so fast. Very difficult for a beginner Mac user.
