Fuel Cakes by @RobLipsett available from fuelcakes.com/
Everybody looks like a snail when compared to an olympic sprinter, but Mike's actually quite fast compared to your average gym bro.
I actually respect him for not pulling a muscle. Even top sprinters pull hamstrings in an all out sprint. It is even more dangerous for a bodybuilder with a huge hamstring that isn´t used to moving this quickly.
He false started in the 200m. Probably nerves but yeah he was pretty decent.
agreed,
@@prestonmatthews725 MIke wasn't the one that false started in the final 200
He was slow in the 5k he would get destroyed
The bodybuilder was surprisingly athletic. I expected him to be tight, slow, and clumsy.
still looks unfunctional and silly
@Krazy Guy or he was just being honest
You took a simple statement from a stranger you can't even see or hear as jealousy ... Assumptions eh
@Krazy Guy good assumption because a lot of people admire bodybuilding looks. As a teen I liked the looks too. But when u have played any sports u know that it is hugely unathletic, prone to injury and just unhealthy. I am really not jealous. I actually feel bad for people who still as an adult want to Look like some bodybuilder because the toxic body image has grown into them. When I see any bodybuolder doing Athletic stuff I just cant enjoy it. I fear a biceps or quad tear, a heart attack or just see how unfunctional that shit is.
If someone performs athleticly or musically I would feel some jealousy... but actually it is more like inspiration because everybody has his own life. I dont get payed to be an athlete, so why bother. If we would get payed to eat perform, sleep and train... we would Look and be like them too.
Also the assumption of jealousy is a typical narcissistic behaviour.
Its all about fast twitch fibers
Mikes latissimus dorsi’s act in a similar way to a parachute when running
Hahaha, underrated comment. This is spot on, they literally do flutter like a parachute in the wind.
Lmfao!!! Best comment 😂😂😂
Like in dragonball z where the more buff they got, the slower.

Love Leon's story from being in care one minute to then becoming a bronze commonwealth medalist. Complete respect and a great inspiration, he seems like a sound lad 👌
And then competing at Tokyo for Ireland
How is that inspirational. There's not hard work or drive he just won the genetic lottery
@@wmitchke i don’t think that’s how it works.

Mike: "what's your calorie intake?"
Leon "At home home 4000, out here around 6000"
Coach Greg : WHAAAAAAT??!!
Thats not true
@@speedspeed315 it is. They burn through so many calories with their high intensity interval training
That's crazy he said that. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that consume that many calories and is an athlete. And look how skinny he is too.
@Andy you chose the right parents
Coach greg is around 200lbs most of which is muscle, trains HARD every day accompanied with a 2hr bike ride as cardio which he goes hard on too but eats around 3000 calories a day. not saying the sprinter can't get away with 4 to 6 thousand calories a day, it's just surprising that someone much smaller and with a lot less metabolically active tissue(i.e. muscle) would require so much more than someone who probably trains harder than him 24/7 365
Fair play Mike. Having been involved in elite track and field back in the days, I was expecting you to get blown away but fair play, you were alright for a big fella. Well done.

Hey Mike, i ordered some Thrst shorts. I was sitting at the dinner table with my family and when i opened the package in front of them the shorts fell out with a condom. The whole family and myself were cracking up haha. Thanks for that
Good form
That's despicable
Man, really 😂
As a 100/200 sprinter,I was really surprised by the body builder. Expected him to be much more stiff and clumsy, but his running is pretty decent, a lot better than most beginners especially for his size.
I think it‘s because weight training in the gym targets type 2 muscle string which you need for sprinting
Omg. I love seeing non-track athletes doing drills. It’s hilarious. I coach hockey players in the summer and they’re by far the most comical. Their mechanics don’t get me started. Not bad at your first go bud.
It made me laugh

I mean that really comes down to the individual.
That kid is obsessed with dirhams lol
Bc athletes barely paid hahahah
@Dorian Beavan Top TOP class athletes probably do (Usain bolt, etc), but I doubt any others make "bank" even within the olympics, I mean I know many athletes (online, etc) who make absolutely nothing from their professional career (only just training, etc paid for) but earn money through other social media endeavours which keeps them alive.
@@Niko-pt9li some people have currently signed 1million dollar per year contracts. Syndey mclaughlin, the 800m champ, and that one kid. Of course this guy makes nothing lmao. ONly the champions can make a sustainable income

Mike only need to run 20 metres of a 100 metres cause his chest finished the rest
😂😂
Great story - this is how raw talent is discovered. His determination to insist he was ready to race when most wouldve listened to that early advice is what set him up. Huge respect
How is that what set him up. He was just a genetic freak, that's what set him up. If he listened to them all the same shit would have happened just a week later.

8:41 The kid sounds like The current Spiderman😂
@4:00 "you're event kind of finds you" 100% agree with that. Ran track for 4 years, started as sprinter, was too lanky for it. Went to distance, I was always well in the front the first half of 12 mile road run and sucking wind the last half. Found the sweet spot in the 400m & 800m. 800m really sucks though. My body mechanics were best suited for it, but it was still always a test of mind to finish every race.
that guy should do a stand-up tour with that dirham joke. that's hilarious!
What a sick video

And the main man - coming from social care to training for the Olympics!! What a guy! Nuff respect

if your doing a head start on a 200m both runners should run 200m, start the 2nd runner after the first runner passes the 150m mark.
Forget the speed. I didn't expect Mike to have so much stamina to go on for so long.
200m is a sprint, not about stamina
@@samo6083 Lool it involves stamina what are you on about . In the last 70m you need good speed endurance
@@therealg4197 I wouldn't use stamina as the word. Its basically you building velocity from the first part of the race, middle part is a transition, last part you're at top speed and youre trying to maintain it. I wouldn't use the word stamina for a 10 second race 😂😂
@@samo6083 Lool the definition of stamina is the ability to maintain physical effort Dude . So yes using stamina is correct or you can also say speed endurance
@@therealg4197 the 200m really isn't about stamina though. Stamina is more like the 800m and up where you pace yourself. It's basically going all out. 400m is more speed endurance

He’s actually got more quickness and power then most bodybuilders, obviously the raw strength is there. If he could work on his mobility and fluidity he could actually be a pretty good athlete

GREAT content! It was very entertaining to watch you push all your muscles through their paces whilst running against a true champ! I hope you didn't pull anything or get blisters on your feet.
Like legit this is a great idea for future videos.
To see you you train with athletes in different sports is good content.
That intro quality was absolutely amazing
All bodybuilders can benefit from sprinting. It sheds fat better than any other exercise, it develops shoulders, core, and the posterior chain as good as anything else, and it can loosen up otherwise tight muscles. And the best part is the testosterone and hgh response is so good that there’s virtually no muscle loss during the process unlike other forms of cardio
Holy shit if I keep watching him talk at 6:28, I won't be able to sleep all night HAHAHAHAHAH so inspiring!!!!
Cheers bud. Great video and respect to another sport. Much respect for doing this!
