As my adventure begins, I find myself at the Lanzarote Airport, ready to check-in for my flight to Birmingham. Unfortunately, luck seems to be against me as only one check-in desk is open, resulting in a long and frustrating wait. With countless fellow passengers also eager to begin their journeys, the queue slowly inches forward, testing my patience. The process takes over an hour, but I maintain a positive attitude, excited for what lies ahead.
Once through the check-in process, I make my way to the security checkpoint and into the departures area. Despite the time-consuming check-in, I'm left with limited time before my flight's departure. Adrenaline kicks in as I navigate through the bustling Arrecife Airport, ensuring I don't miss my gate.
Upon entering the departure lounge, I'm greeted by a spacious and modern area designed to cater to the needs of travelers. The lounge is well-lit and showcases Lanzarote's unique charm through its architectural elements, with local artwork and volcanic-inspired designs adorning the walls.
To satisfy hunger pangs, a wide variety of dining options awaits. Whether you crave a quick bite or a leisurely meal, the departure lounge offers a range of restaurants, cafes, and fast-food outlets. From traditional Canarian cuisine to international flavors, there's something to suit every palate. I take this opportunity to grab a delicious sandwich and a refreshing drink to keep me energized for the journey ahead.
As I explore the departure lounge further, I notice an array of duty-free shops. From cosmetics and fragrances to fashion and electronics, the shops offer an excellent opportunity to indulge in some last-minute shopping or pick up souvenirs to remember the trip.
Before I know it, the boarding announcement for my flight is made. I bid farewell to the departure lounge, filled with a mix of anticipation and a tinge of nostalgia for the memorable moments spent within its walls.

I love Lanzarote airport. If people didn't take so much luggage with them they wouldn't have to queue. I can't believe how much some people take just for a week!!

We travelled in and out of Lanzarote this month - no problems. Border force people checked our passports both times. The viewing area is good, except for the smoking. A great view of the runway.

As a smoker I loved the outdoor lounge in departures you could have a smoke and a coffee while waiting to board.

Just returned from Lanzarote, great little airport,went with Jet 2 absolutely no messing with check in or security.
Been watching your videos prior to travelling as we've never been to Lanzarote before, very informative, cheers.

Would highly recommend Jet 2 maybe a little more expensive but no wait at check in , always check in on line so much easier. Down side is at Manchester there is a long walk to the gate and there are stairs to get down to access the tunnel for aircraft. There is a lift for disabled.
J2 are getting big now they seem goid
Good for first time travelers to see checking at Lanzarote airport, that must have been frustrating to stand in a queue for that long in my experience I have never had to wait more than 30 minutes, looking forward to the return video

Another useful video! On my last return flight from Lanzarote earlier this month, there were two spanish customs officers manually checking passports at the boarding gate, which is not something I've ever seen before. I hope its not the start of a new trend!

Love watching all your Lanzarote Videos, having just played back your live stream from Las Americas, I can honestly say, Lanzarote or even Gran Canaria beats Tenerife hands down. The evening air did turn a bit blue with colorful language towards the end of your walk, keep on vlogging, regards, Kevin

Had a great time last week in Lanzarote and flew back to blighty on Saturday evening.
We were with Jet2 and have to say the service was amazing, even though there were strikes on we were informed all the way and delays were kept to a minimum.
Had a pretty good experience in Lanzarote airport too. Check in wasn't too long, about 30mins as Jet2 had over 10 lanes open, and once thru security we had plenty of time to browse and went to relay to get a meal deal (much better value than burger king etc and the in flight deals)
Also If your a smoker/vaper the bar is good as it has quite a big outside area with tables and chairs and views of Lanzarote. It's so much better than the poxy little smoking area at EMA.
PS thanks for all your tips and vids (we stayed in PB and went to the Irish Anvil and Popeyes for Breakfast, Arabellas, The Curry house & Asia Steakhouse for evening meals and had smoothies at yumyum and la bahia, delicious!
We also did a Travelon excursion - Volcano Short Tour which was fantastic and also got a ferry over to FV for the day and went to Acua Waterpark) ...we hope to return back to Lanzarote in the near future.

We are big fans of Lanzarote, however our Ryanair flight experienced a 9 hour delay in March.
That is too long to spend in any airport, and it has left us rather dubious about the whole idea of travelling by plane.
We will recover, of course, but will never use RyanAir again. It would be an absolute red line for us.
Lanzarote airport? It's fine, really, but like most airports not set up to cope with significant delays.

Arrecife, very clean, very expensive but has an al fresco facility. No WH Smiths unfortunately. Always a hold up at Ryan Air check in. So much profit for minimum customer benefit.

You need to move with the times, automated bourding pass machines are so much quicker, try using a phone i do all the time had no problems the past 4 time i've been to Lanzarote this year, carry on lougage is a lot easier that's what i do no long ques, interesting video.

What was the queue for passport exit stamps like, the one at Tenerife South last month was 45 minutes to an hour and looking at a vlog from a couple of days ago it's still the same there. Due of course to Brexit, the gift that keeps on taking.

Wierd. We flew back from their yesterday. Pick up from hotel in PDC was 10.10am. We flew through backage drop off and passport control and were looking round at duty free no later than 10.35am.
Was it Ryanair? Tui and J2 seems fast

90% of delays are caused by clueless passengers!! Arrecife airport is a breeze but we never have checked in baggage.

Price is worth it sometimes though
EasyJet always been good when onboard but disastrous when leaving Lanzarote no queuing system to longer queues probably the worst airport I’ve ever been to for departures ! But apart from that the island is amazing ! Maybe I moan about the airport because I never want to leave lol
