It is sad he lost his life especially when all he had to do was comply. I am 100% sure that there is way more to this story than this news report is deciding to cover. Anything they can do to make it look like it was about race the media will gladly do.
derrick was my cousin. there is more to it, they let a dog out on him after he had been still for hours laying in the field. they blocked the fire department from getting to the scene. they called him an animal, a ‘boy’ , they shot him in the back as he ran away.
If he was obeying the law, pulling over for officers and following lawful commands, how did this happen?
He was running away and had a gun , also a lifelong criminal . This easily could of been avoided if he listened to police . It’s sad when anyone dies but his parents or lack thereof is the real cause and who’s guilty here
This really about the "family". Having failed to properly raise him, failed to properly supervise him, now they smell a payday in the bloody water and that's really all this is. Greed.
Poor kid. If his parents had taught him to follow orders when a police officer commands you to do something, this could have all been avoided.
