    Hi Helen, I just baked the cake and it comes out so spectacular, so super soft, and the fragrant of coconut and pandan is so good. thanks for sharing your good recipe, I will make it my go to chiffon cake.

    A great recipe. Thank you so much for it. I think it will be more convenient to bake it in a traditional chiffon cake pan with a removable bottom for example from Nordic Ware which I can highly recommend. I am going to make the cake right now andI am sure it will be super delicious. Once again thank you so much :)

      drendee That's right, traditional chiffon cake pan with a removable bottom is a better choice. Just that they don't sell it here where I live :)

    Hi chi Helen, I’ve tried few times using your recipe and temperature as in video but don’t know why the sponge cake still get flattened, quite dense, I’m using the cake tin like yours but when up side down the cake, it doesn’t stick on the pan like yours. Can you give me some suggestions thanks so much

    hi chị Helen. If i don't have panda extract and i use fresh pandan, should i grind the panda leaves with coconut milk and how many leaves should i use?

      mama stock 6-8 leaves should be alright. But the color might not be as green

    hihi, May i know if i can use castor sugar instead? Can i use 8" nonstick round cake tin to do this and not grease the tin but just use brown paper on bottom and sides of tin? can i replace coconut milk with something else as it's for elderly and they do not prefer coconut milk - full cream evaporated milk ok to replace? Thanks and hope to hear from you soon so i can try over next few days.

      Anh Ngọc Ngân Nguyễn cám ơn bạn. Bạn cho mình hỏi sao lúc mình đánh lòng trắng thì nó rất mau lên bọt trắng, bông, nhỏ mà k thấy lúc nào lên bọt giống trong clip để cho muối và chanh vô? Với lại mình đánh lòng trắng có quá cứng k mà nó rất khó để trộn với trứng-bột. Nó cứ bị cục cục rất lớn, khó tan làm mình phải fold rất lâu mới hết.

      mình nghĩ đó là do nhiệt độ lò của b, thứ 2 là do b đặt bánh quá gần thanh lửa trên. Các loại bánh chiffon rất khó chiều, b nên điều chỉnh khuôn ở ngay chính giữa lò vào lần thử sau :)

      Nguyen linh You can use other mold, too, but it may collapse a bit. If you don't mind the look, it's still ok ;)

      Helen's Recipes (Vietnamese Food) Hi Helen, You can find "bot la gai" (leaf ) in North of VN as in Hanoi.(My mom said that) or you can use the black powder that use to made a " suong sao".

    Ymmm...yummy, spongy and airy cake, only one thing pandan extract i don't think there's any over here, you think online with some Asian Grocer i can get it?     Hi Helen,
    I made this cake today. It is so delicious. But :)) . When I brought the cake out, it went down. I was missed step? I was mixed a bit ( one or 2 drop) of egg yolk in the egg white (i think, what is your idea?) When I mixed a flour into the mixed of egg yolk, i beat for few second because the flour was not dissolve all. (is it a reason?).

      Anne Le the cake collapses when the egg white is not beaten to stiff peak. Did you reach that stage?
