    Summary
    Durock V2s: still have rattle, doing mods will probably be necessary.
    Gateron Ink Stabs: much tighter tolerances, can get away with 205g0 and a straight spacebar.
    Staebies: Very tight tolerances, no rattle even with just dielectric grease.

    This is a very good quick video. Straight to the point. No unfair comparisons. Every stabilizer gets the same amount of treatment.
    Just gotta keep in mind that the video does not sound exactly like how it would in real life, but those staebies sound very good. I got durocks, and lubed the housing with krytox 205g0, and lubed the wires with g-lube from glorious since I got the gmmk pro and they gave a lot of lube for cheap. The stabs came out still with some rattle. Then cleaned up the lube, but couldn't completely clean it all, then holee modded it kinda wack and same lube job. Less rattle, but still a bit of rattle on my right spacebar stab, and my backspace. Probably cause I didn't properly wire balance it, because I had nothing to grip it properly without damaging the wire. All in all, stabs need to get better and staebies are going in the right direction for that.

      Agreed there mate. Wire balancing then holee modding, it's quite a lot of work. When I get the full review of these staebies out (in about 2 weeks), and compare them, you'll be surprised to find these stabs are seriously a whole league apart.

      your stabilizers have rattle because you didn't wire balance, didn't lube enough, and g lube sucks ass

    • @alexha8061
      @alexha8061 2 года назад +1

      @@Pandered true g-lube does suck ass. Probably if I was able to properly wire balance it would've been fine with g-lube tho. Didn't have anything to properly wire balance so yeah. Had dielectric, but that shit feels too thick and idk it doesn't properly stay on the wire in my experience.

    I find the trouble with tolerances too tight is with warped pbt modifiers, so unless I bend them back looser stabs have worked better for me.

      @EdNieThePianoGuy 2 года назад

      Yeah. TBH, I'm preferring Gateron because they seem to be smoother after being lubed. But, technically Staebies SHOULD be able to sound better. Maybe it just needed more lube? IDK.

    Staebies are pretty impressive. (All the stabs still have a pretty scuffed sounding spacebar imo. I would probably still holee mod the spacebar for the staebies)

    Careful with stabies v1 (hopefully they fix with V2) but the spacebar tolerence is so tight it gives some extra resistances depending on keyboard/keycap

    why are your durocks so rattly when lubed with 205g0 i lubed mine with 205g0 on the housing and wire with the 205g0 thin on the housing with very minimal whiteness and the wires with a thicker application where you could see white ness on the wire

    • @andiyao
      @andiyao  2 года назад

      My experience with Durocks isn’t too great, this particular 7U wire wasn’t straight either. Hence it rattles even after 205g0

    why are durock recommended the most when they sound so bad

    • @andiyao
      @andiyao  2 года назад +1

      I guess they are still the most accessible stabs to buy. There are also lots of mod tutorials out there

    • @LeReveurY
      @LeReveurY 2 года назад +3

      Because they sound better than stock or cherrys stabs on average, and come pre-clipped. All sound a lot better when tuned and modded properly, but Durocks have been the go-to for higher end builds. These new, better options like Staebies, Gateron Ink Stabs, Owlabs are still pretty recent and not as available, but hopefully they do and Durock will come out with a V3 or something to address the V2's issues.
