Alexander Rossi or Conor Daly would be a great addition to a start-up team. Both have tones of IndyCar experience.

Ordering 5 chassis to support 2 entries is in line with the smaller teams.
Suggesting this team is going to dominate in year one makes it seem like you are ignorant of how competitive Indycar is and what separates the top teams from the rest.
Remember, people in the F1 circles had the same expectations of Carlin a few years ago when they jumped to Indycar.

Everybody thinks indycar is so easy just because they come from formula one or some European series and at the same token at indycar we’re not a perfect race series but we’re humble enough to admit that 🇺🇸🏁😎

Ask McLaren, they thought they’d come in and beat up Penske, Ganassi, Andretti. You think they have more in depth than McLaren. Grosean thought he’d come in and win, how’d that work out 😆

Considering their struggles with the new F2 car, I doubt they’ll be that great with a car with 2 different aero setups that are interchanged throughout the year.

I hope that Prema comes out competitive. I hope they take wins from Penske and Ganassi. Honestly, I'm sick and tired of Penske winning and Ganassi. I hope that Penske cars crash every race. I don't care. Fuck them. But yes Prema please take wins away from Penske and Ganassi. I just hope that they don't grow too fast that they lose money.

My guess is for their first year theyll struggle a bit....I imagine them with a Rahal type season....few great finishes but
mostly sitting around 7th-12th...depending on drivers.
I cant imagine them competing with Ganassi's top 2(cuz Lundqvist and Simpson are kind of just there) and Armstrong is super inconsistent...or all 3 Penske or Andretti...or McLaren's top 2(cuz we dont know if Siegel will be any good)
That was Carlin's downfall...they never had good drivers in the cars

To expect any team to be "competitive" right off the bat is unreasonable and especially one with no experience running on American tracks. Tracks here are MUCH different than European tracks ( the tracks are much bumpier and of course there are no ovals overseas). Each track the first year is going to be a totally new experience. They will be starting from scratch on day one of practice each weekend trying to find a set up, going against teams with YEARS of set up data and the ability to have a set up to go fast right out of the box on the first lap of practice. There are also pit stops. NOBODY in Europe outside of Formula 1 ( with unlimited numbers of crew that can do a pit stop) has experience doing an 8 second full tire and fuel pit stop with only six men over the wall. Lastly, unless they hire a large number of already experienced INDY CAR engineers, managers, data people and shop personnel, they will again face a steep learning curve before they can hope to be competitive with the Big 4 and even Rahal and others with years of experience.

@williamford9564 No ovals overseas? There have been ovals in both Brazil and Japan. And I seem to recall CART racing on an oval in Germany. I might be wrong about the last one , I'd have to look through the old schedules.

@smokeybandit9760 McLaren got their on track win before Andretti and may get their second ahead of them. They may have two on track by the end of the year whole Andretti still only has one. But I agree the teams are about equal, meaning that Andretti is not better.
