I went to a convention in 2015 and they were redirecting traffic for some reason. Kind of made it a pain in the ass to get to our hotel... and not to mention my car ran out of coolant halfway through so it would overheat if it idled for too long. Ah, fun times...
As an environmentalist, I hate seeing the sprawl of North America(Canada is just the same, sadly). Where I live, the largest city is 170km, but the edge of the city metro area is just 40km, and growing, as grey concrete takes over more green nature.
