  • In this action packed vlog I head to Erlebnispark Tripsdrill in Germany for the first time! Join me as I share my first reactions to visiting this beautiful theme park along with sharing on ride POV's from many of the different rides on offer at this fantastic park. I also check out some of the other unique attractions at Tripsdrill that really make this park stand out from anywhere else in the world. Along with all of that I also visit the wildlife park that's located a short train ride away from the main entrance of the theme park itself.

    One of my favorite Parks. Karacho is one of the best Coasters in Germany I think :D
    The Log flume is called "Bathtube Ride to the fountain of youth
    " ;)

    Nice vlog. Seems you really enjoyed Tripsdrill. It's the oldest themepark in Germany and a really lovely place. By the way, the bobsled was the first Gerstlauer coaster ever built.
    The free glass with every visit is a nice thing.
    Greetings from Germany

    I take my (proverbial) hat off to you Shawn. Okay, I know you're doing this stuff predominantly as a vlogger and for your vlogs, however I wish I had it in me to visit these places solo. I'm not always in a position to go places with others (conflicting work commitments etc) and wish I was natured to think 'sod it, I'll go on my own!' Great vlogs recently and loving the pov's, keep up the great work!

  • @grymare5159
    @grymare5159 5 лет назад +8

    Fun fact:
    The log flume is called Badewannen-Fahrt zum Jungbrunnen which translates to Bathtub ride to the fountain of youth
    That's why there are naked old ladies at first and on the other side they come out young again.
    I love Tripsdrill with their unique themes 😂

  • @maximecretton383
    @maximecretton383 5 лет назад +1

    The junior coaster is a Zierer Tivoli large, like the Tom and Jerry coaster at Parque Warner Madrid or the Kikker-8-baan at Duinrell. Also I think that a Mack megacoaster similar to Alpina Blitz at Nigloland would suit this park very well!

  • @chrishodges8473
    @chrishodges8473 4 года назад +4

    Being from America, I envy this level of detail. Watching you ride that small Zierer coaster between those trees and fountains was cool. Themeing is underrated in my opinion and watching you stroll around this cool park is awesome. Karacho makes me want to see more Gerstlauer's in America, what a ride!

    What a magical place that was, kids would be soo enthralled trying to take in all the sights. Thank you for a exceptional insight into what a theme park should be for the young and young at heart. The camera work made it seem as if I was there, and the blue skies and lush landscaping brought it all to vivid life.

  • @mattman237
    @mattman237 5 лет назад +1

    Rasender Tausendfüßler is my favorite Zierer Tivoli. I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain it's a standard double figure eight layout like all the others. It's the setting that really makes it!

    In German Karacho is some kind of word to describe speed... in german we say for example "Ich fahre mit Karacho" which means "I drive really fast" - But its really hard to pronounce it correctly :-)

    • @tpm2056
      @tpm2056 5 лет назад

      I think Karaho comes quite close if you have trouble with the ch.

    • @matthewsouthwell9653

      Pronounced "ikh farer mit karaho"

    • @TrangleC
      @TrangleC 4 года назад

      It isn't just a word to describe speed though. It is also used to formulate something like "reckless abandon", not caring about the consequences, full throttle and so on and as such, it can mean different things at the same time.

    Funny story - we visited the park in 2004 with the ECC. We were allowed to operate G’sengte Sau ride (whilst the park was open to the public). We returned to the park in 2006 and the ride op recognised me! The guy was so proud to be working on the coaster.

    I grew up not far from the park and went there many times as a child. I have only been there once as an adult and the park has changed a lot in the last 30 years. It used to be kind of dingy, with half of the park being a small zoo, but it had a lot of regional flair and weird charm, coming not least from the use of crude humor. Some of the animatronics would curse at you and there was one attraction where you could climb up a ladder to the chamber of a farmer's daughter and it was kind of a lottery. One of 3 possible animatronics would come out of the window while you were on the ladder, either the buxom maid herself, giggling at you, or her father, waving a shotgun and cursing you out, or her crone mother emptying a chamber pot over you and they actually had plastic turds on strings falling out of the chamber pot.
    The part you walk down at roughly 3 minutes into the video, with the wine producing displays on the right and the slow barrel ride on the left, already existed like that back in my days. Nice to see that some of the old stuff still is up and running.
    The caterpillar themed kiddie-coaster you ride first in the video was the newest and one of the biggest attractions back then. I'm surprised to see it is still in action. It is at least 35 years old.

      Only now was able to finally finish it. Was busy lately and could only watch it 10 to 20 minutes at a time.
      Also gave me a lot of nostalgia and although the park has changed a lot, it is surprising and nice to see how much of the old stuff is still there.

    What a gem of a park. It doesn't even looks like a 'theme park'. more like you are going inside a small village that just happens to have some rides spread out around. Brilliant. Really nice rides to. The Gerstlauer looked amazing, and the theming of Mammuth (pre-drop etc) was really good. Bit strange turning wine-land into a theme park, but looks like they got enough land around. Also wine ranks like the hills.

    Tripdrill is a strange park to say the least. It's charming, very much German and half museum, half amusementpark. Been there a few times in a few trips with other parks, but it's not really a park where you stay a whole day, not enough rides for that. I love to see what you think of Nigloland next. When you have the time, Halloween @ Nigloland is amazing. I call Nigloland the 'Mini- Europa park'. They even have their own Blue fire, Matterhorn blitz and Eurosat. And when you find time and money, Plopsa Coo in Belgium is another strange park to visit.

    Tripsdrill is a very cute little park, and Karacho is a coaster I very much like. It's not a park that I'd specifically go to, but if you go past it, definitively give it a visit. The Wildpark that's attached to it is also a very nice addition to your day, as most of the park consists of kiddie-rides meaning that you are likely to not-spend an entire day in the themepark if you go there as an adolocent.

    Few things to note: we did actually use the second train on Mammut later on and took it off again, simply wasn’t enough of a wait to justify two trains. Also the guy that rode Gsengte Sau and Mammut on roller skates also had plans to do it on Karacho, but that was a bit too risky for the owners.
    Hope you enjoyed the park, soon with the addition of our new rides there will be a proper reason for a return visit!

    Around 25.50 and 27.00 minutes you have this same giggle from a female (Ghost)!!! I think yvette fielding needs to investigate this!!! LOL,
    SERIOUSLY THOUGH I can't wait for the USA content, you have the perfect balance of info, geeky stuff and beautiful off ride footage, I hope to find another channel as good for a good binge session but not one has the whole package perfected like yew

    So an Infinity coaster has longer trains than a Euro... but Karacho is a x2 by 4 train?. Surely this is a Euro with a very slightly longer train and LSM. These coaster classifications baffle me sometimes.
