- Probably the world's first and only anti-abortion stand-up routine! Created by conservative comedian Nicholas De Santo (that's me!) - After I tested this routine in Reading, England, and saw an encouraging reception, I took the slightly polished version to my favourite venue in London: the famous Backyard Comedy Club which hosts the monthly Free Thinking Comedy gig: Comedy Unleashed.

wow, you must be american. Don t you have foreign languages, "Fremdsprachen", as a mandatory part of you school? Every german high-schooler leaves with at least 2 foreign languages (mostly english 9 years and french7 years) on top of his native language. Some of them (i was one of them) decide to go into language and decide at 7th grade to learn a 3r language at 9th grade. Don t you speak other languages in High-School? All your school happens in english? All german highschoolers could perform a stand up or theatre act. We read Shakespeare, you know? Mandatory. All of us.

I was born early. 1lb 8oz, lungs collapsed, still have the scar where they put the tube. Had to stay in an incubator for a while. I was more than wanted, I was cherished. Today I'm in my late 20s. No matter the pushback I might get I'll say this: a child is innocent and they deserve that first breath, no matter how difficult and no matter the circumstances. Vīvere deus vult.
My son was 3lbs 14oz. At birth . At 25 weeks I had a small hole in my amniotic sac. They put me in the hospital on bed rest. I layed there for 5 weeks trying to keep him in longer. I made it to week 30 before I got an infection and had to deliver. He’s 15 now and I’m thankful he’s here.

It's not about whether child deserves to live or not, it's about whether woman is willing to make that sacrifice in order to give it birth. For example, if there is a choice between you loosing a leg or another random person dying, you are completely in right to not make the sacrifice because it's not forbidden to be selfish. Of course, more often than not loosing a leg is a severe exaggeration over giving birth, but it doesn't change the point

People have different beliefs about what is right and what is wrong, and while there are some things that most of the people agree on and build society and law upon, your opinion on abortion is definitely not one of those (which is not to say that you are objectively wrong, it just might be that there is no objectively right answer). My wife was initially an unwanted pregnancy. Thank God that she was eventually adopted. My wife is the most caring, considerate, loving woman I certainly don’t deserve, but thank the Lord that she married me. I can’t imagine a world empty of her loving character and compassion.

@@AngloItalianComedyI think with the right crowd-control this set would be awesome to see with a more center-leaning crowd. It would probably be incredibly tricky to get back on track if the heckler derailed you during the middle of a long build up. On the positive, it could lengthen the set a lot if you deal with them thoroughly. Anyway, I can’t imagine taking these kind of risks in today’s world. Great job Sir!

He's very good at staying right on the line between humor and discomfort. Didn't think this was a subject fit for comedy, but he did it artfully.
There are a few comedians who very carefully approach this topic from a pro life perspective. But none come anywhere near this level of courage, this extreme contrasting and comparing. No one has ever come this close to making me ALMOST respect the Nazis. ALMOST. Haha! @@P71ScrewHead Yes, a dangerously premature baby. He was born at 25 weeks + 4 days. He weighed 1 pound, 12 ounces. He had no fat on his body at all. His skin was translucent, like rice paper. Doctors referred to him as a "miscarriage". No one expected him to survive. But he did. He was a fighter. Today he's 27 years old. Truth through comedy! About 25 years ago, my brother (18) got his girlfriend (16) pregnant. Her family cut her off and it's not like we had a lot of money to help out, so they went to Planned Parenthood to help them plan for parenthood. The first thing out of the lady's mouth was "I was in a similar situation and the best thing I ever did for my life was abort the baby. Would you like to consider that?" They looked at each other and walked out. They're still married and had another kid several years later. That Planned Parenthood hasn't been there for years and what's there now is a church.
I guess the prayers of the people who prayed outside that plan parenthood facility, worked lol.

I'm Sicilian. Old man was a 3 month premature baby. When I see people support 3rd trimester abortions it really makes me wonder if they have any brains at all. Dad spent 3 months in an incubator. Wild to think there are babies being aborted that spent more time in the womb than him but they aren't considered babies until they leave the womb. Insane.
I was born prematurely to full blooded Italian parents in the U.S.. I was blessed to be raised with a lot Italian traditions.

Right wing people tend to not become creative types. There’s a lot of research on the topic, but to summarize, right wing people are more logic oriented while left wing people are more emotion oriented. The same divide is seen between men and women, which is the reason why men as a demographic lean right while women lean left.
People who are logic oriented like to solve problems and so they go into career fields which require engineering, legal arguments, medical diagnostics, things like that, which require the application of logic. People who are emotions oriented like to express their emotions and tend to connect better with others’ emotions, so they tend to go into more creative careers (creation in large part being the expression of emotions) and careers which involve communication with people like art, music, acting, and comedy.
As a very logic oriented person (I’m an engineer), I can break down an art piece or a comedy monologue and categorize its various elements and then propose a theory about why it does or doesn’t work. I could probably even mimic it very successfully. However, I can’t create new art or comedy as successfully as many of the people who can apply their emotions rather than just logic to whatever they are working on. Call it inspiration, the muse, or something else, but it just doesn’t come naturally to logic oriented people and by extension right wing people.
But hey, at the end of the day we right wing people can logically deduce which bathroom to use, so on balance I think we’re winning. 😂
