I was fascinated by the airplane game. The world felt so big and getting to explore all the little secrets was so much fun, I played for hours and hours trying to find all of the “i” coins. It felt like you were really there on the island playing the games. The concept of being able to explore the world outside the games was so mind blowing to me. This video brought back so many memories. I have so many hours on wii sports resort, and it’s so nice to hear other people talk about their love for the game just as I remember it :,)
I did that too! God I loved it so much, I still haven't found them all. I'm gonna have to do them all again tho because my friend scratched up my disk reader with his crappy mario kart disk :( It's okay tho because pilotwings Resort is the exact same, I highly recommend if you have a 3ds
I'm surprised you didnt mention that candle game in wii fit where someone creeps in your house. And when you move, the candle goes out leaving you alone in the dark. That game was horrifying to me when i was little. Also i want to say that i absolutely loved this whole video, from the editing to the narration.

That actually makes a lot of sense seeing as tomodachi was full of incredibly weird and vague lines like that. I didn’t know that but definitely adds more clarity and logic to my theory lmfao
I freaking loved flying around the solo plane mingame, just collecting icons and exploring the map. Dogfight was fun but I enjoyed the solo game a lot more. It was the first game I played where I felt like it brought me into a different world.
Most entertaining iceberg vid in a while! A lot of people just sit in front of a mic and do the bare minimum. You actually put in the work and your editing and script shows! Nice job!!
The 'YOU WIN' is definetly from another game, if not various others (Tekken, DoA, other fighting games/lightgun shooters) and the voice sounds very similar. But that's simply due to the vocal effect that's used, many male voice actors would sound a bit similar to each other through that effect.
My theory is definitely similar to yours. I think that Mandela is just a mixup. There was so many games featuring such similar VA styles at the time. It’s just so funny that so many other people swear they remember the lines 😵💫😵💫
there was definitely no VA for the "you win" in the spanish version (the spanish version uses the english VA), so i can assure u it has never been there because i dont remember it saying anything at all, just the music when u win
In my very humble opinion of someone who grew up with the GameCube, I believe it comes from Super Money Ball 2. (Maybe Super Monkey Ball (one) has the same, but I only played the second.) Chances are you don’t read this but judging by your channel your a rather new RUclipsr and your editing and style already reminds me of those from bigger channels! A few touch ups here and there but it’s practically perfect and keep’s attention! I truly think you have a bright future with how good these first few vids are doing and building a channel up on icebergs is an amazing idea since there relevant and popular
I was gonna say almost the same thing! the amount of times I went back because I saw some wild shit I needed to make sure I saw was amazing and I couldn't help myself. As a fairly casual youtube viewer, I straight up had no idea this guy was wet behind the ears for like, even a second. I was unreasonably entertained by every little detail 😹
I have the opposite view. The editing is good and fun but I'm halfway through and want to leave the video. This is because there is so much constantly going on that my view is being blocked by the edits and I am missing the content I came to see. Kinda like watching a TV but people are always walking front of it. It makes me almost forget what I saw instantly. Again, the edits are cool but are just so many so fast obscures the video. It feels like 25% information and 75% jokes at breakneck speed. I think slowing down some and showing more footage of the topics being talked about would improve the video a lot. Trust me I KNOW that is anti-RUclips algorithm / Tiktok attention span advice lol. Just one man's opinion.

Things like the abandoned castle and ruins have an ominous feeling about them cuz of the questions that raised: how old is the island? Were these the ruins of buildings and temples that were bombed in order to create unique areas of the island? Why is specifically the castle intact? Could it be that the island was previously inhabited by tribes but they all died in a volcano eruption which made it open to becoming a resort? Maybe Swordplay showdown is actually the staff members trying to keep you away from a horrifying truth about the island since the closer to the ruins and castle you get, the tougher the cpus get… These are questions that may or may not ever be answered…

i didn't grow up with a wii & wii sports so i only got to play it recently. i do not remeber the announcer saying "you win" or anything similar, but it makes sense why some people would misremember it because the victory screen would be a pretty normal place to put an announcer voiceline

Like some other comments have said the "YOU WIN" has appeared so many times on screen it would make you believe it says that, as well as that letter type/look + sound is used elsewhere in the game WITH voicelines. Also many games during that period of games did have voicelines for losing and winning the game/match. Personally as a child I remember thinking "why doesn't it say anything here?" and imagining what it could have sound like and either saying it out loud or thinking it every time. Such a massive part of my childhood that also seems to have been so for many others So badly wish Nintendo would one day make an open world game based around the island with story and everything. LMFAO in the codebase for wii sports there was an abandoned models & animations of fingers for the mii’s. Upon finding that out I was talking about it to a few other creators and then spawned the theory of something similar but with feet. I edited the entire video and ended up cutting that entry due to some incomplete facts & overall sloppiness as it was one of the last things I had thrown into the iceberg. After cutting I restructured the video but I had completely forgot about the jokes added in. So originally it was to be a running joke among me and the viewer but now it’s just weird 💀💀💀
But besides that thank you I’m glad you enjoyed the video I spent more time on this edit like than I’d care to admit. An open world wuhu game has always been one of my main wish list games for Nintendo but I don’t think it’s anything we’ll see any time soon. Although I hope I’m wrong
Good to see I am not the only one who had wii injuries. I once threw a strike in wii resort bowling and I just thought it was a good idea to make a knee slide. Than I knocked my head to the table on which te tv stood. Did not hurt that much, but it did bleed a bit haha. Still have a small scar from it haha. Not my bad action ever😅
I have a photographic memory, and in some cases I can remember sounds related to things I've seen years back. I have not played Wii Sports in probably a decade, yet I explicitly remember both the You Win and You Lose signs, and their corresponding spinny and flattening animstions, and even remember the little 2-note jingle that plays when you win. I don't remember the announcer ever saying "You Win" though. Maybe that's just me, but honestly I wish I got that voice clip every time I won a game of tennis haha

Photographic memory gets misconstrued a lot, it isn't the ability to remember everything, just the ability to remember certain events in very fine detail. For this, yes I can remember the exact way it looks and sounds and even the room and TV and angle I'd often see it from, though that was likely over a decade ago.
I really need to get to the Wii again. It was one of my childhood consoles and still holds a special place in my heart. Everytime I play games like Wii Sports Resort or Go Vacation, I just feel like a kid again

I always liked flying around the dinosaur rocks on wedge island and I spent so many hours doing the dog fight mode against my grand father it was the simpler times :)

i didn't grow up with a wii & wii sports so i only got to play it recently. i do not remeber the announcer saying "you win" or anything similar, but it makes sense why some people would misremember it because the victory screen would be a pretty normal place to put an announcer voiceline

That YOU WIN sound reminds me a bit of the "monkey ball" game feedback when you lost or won, it's a nostalgic game maybe most people confused it with wii sports since it had mini games and sports as well
24:35 One time I was playing wii sports table tennis and I didn't have my safety strap on and I accidentally throw my wii remote across my room. Thank God that I didn't hit anything and that my wii remote still works!
Like some other comments have said the "YOU WIN" has appeared so many times on screen it would make you believe it says that, as well as that letter type/look + sound is used elsewhere in the game WITH voicelines. Also many games during that period of games did have voicelines for losing and winning the game/match.
Personally as a child I remember thinking "why doesn't it say anything here?" and imagining what it could have sound like and either saying it out loud or thinking it every time.

Anyways besides that, it's always nice seeing people still talking abt Wii Sports, especially Wuhu Island. Such a massive part of my childhood that also seems to have been so for many others
So badly wish Nintendo would one day make an open world game based around the island with story and everything. That would be perfect
LMFAO in the codebase for wii sports there was an abandoned models & animations of fingers for the mii’s. Upon finding that out I was talking about it to a few other creators and then spawned the theory of something similar but with feet. I edited the entire video and ended up cutting that entry due to some incomplete facts & overall sloppiness as it was one of the last things I had thrown into the iceberg. After cutting I restructured the video but I had completely forgot about the jokes added in. So originally it was to be a running joke among me and the viewer but now it’s just weird 💀💀💀
But besides that thank you I’m glad you enjoyed the video I spent more time on this edit like than I’d care to admit. An open world wuhu game has always been one of my main wish list games for Nintendo but I don’t think it’s anything we’ll see any time soon. Although I hope I’m wrong

Good to see I am not the only one who had wii injuries. I once threw a strike in wii resort bowling and I just thought it was a good idea to make a knee slide. Than I knocked my head to the table on which te tv stood. Did not hurt that much, but it did bleed a bit haha. Still have a small scar from it haha. Not my bad action ever😅

I have a photographic memory, and in some cases I can remember sounds related to things I've seen years back.
I have not played Wii Sports in probably a decade, yet I explicitly remember both the You Win and You Lose signs, and their corresponding spinny and flattening animstions, and even remember the little 2-note jingle that plays when you win. I don't remember the announcer ever saying "You Win" though.
Maybe that's just me, but honestly I wish I got that voice clip every time I won a game of tennis haha

The ability to remember specific events in excruciating detail is more common than you'd think. Photographic memory gets misconstrued a lot, it isn't the ability to remember everything, just the ability to remember certain events in very fine detail.
For this, yes I can remember the exact way it looks and sounds and even the room and TV and angle I'd often see it from, though that was likely over a decade ago.
I really need to get to the Wii again. It was one of my childhood consoles and still holds a special place in my heart. Everytime I play games like Wii Sports Resort or Go Vacation, I just feel like a kid again
