"I have nothin to say ta YIZ." One of the first boys I dated back in 1967 here in Boston USA said the word YIZ and my mother decided from then on Joey was trash and I could no longer see him. Mind you this snob of a woman was 7/8 IRISH herself but had been in the states for a few generations. Then it became popular to be of Irish ancestry in the 80's and she suddenly was proud to be Irish and even went with my father to visit his extended family in County Cork Ireland. When Mom came home from her trip sick as a dog she complained about being sick the entire time they were in Ireland after having left Belgium perfectly well. How ironic. That woman got exactly what she deserved after dissing her ancestors for so many years. I silently enjoyed this immensely!

I'm from Dublin and it was interesting to see those areas as I remember them. I remember the jewellery robbery shown at the start. That was what sealed Martin Cahill's fate. At that time, the robbery gangs in the State knew that the IRA would come looking for a percentage of the proceeds from any robbery they carried out. As they were a heavily armed paramilitary group at the time, gangs paid up and cooperated with them - it was like a licence from the IRA for the gangs to continue to commit crime as long as they paid their dues to the IRA. When Martin Cahill refused to pay them, the IRA decided they could not be seen to back off or other gangs would refuse to pay them also. After that, it was only a matter of time before they killed him and they did it in a very public place - a very busy road in the afternoon with lots of people about - so as to generate maximum publicity as a warning to others. The violence in Northern Ireland has stopped since then but they still make sure that they get their cut - only now its from drug dealers.

🇬🇧 Just started watching & the part where they are stealing the gold bars makes me howl!
    Each bar is extraordinarily heavy
They couldnt sweep the shelf full
With an arm, into a swag bag!
Years ago i worked for Matthey Garrett, a precious metals foundry in Australia..
One day the boss came in, he was a lovely chap & was asking me how i was getting on, as this was my first job after leaving school.
I was working in the Assay office
Then he asked me if id like to see the Gold Bullion.
I surely did & we went into this big vault!
    It was like Aladins Cave!
Then he gestured to me to pick up one of the gold bars, as he said
He thought id never have another chance ( hopefully, lol)
I could NOT believe how heavy just ONE bar of gold could be.
Using both hands, incase i dropped it, i could hardly lift it
And i had pretty strong arms as i
    Played Javelin sports.
I did lift it though & it truely was stunning to behold.
    Marvellous!
However, to think of anyone stealing these bars, they needed to do some heavy arm training.
So to see these films & actors swiping a shelf of gold bars into a bag is ludicrous!
They would never be able to lift the bag of gold bars & run with it!
Ive only ever once seen a film where they acted out lifting each heavy bar as it actually WOULD weigh & laying it in a special layered Dolly trolley on wheels &
Then 2 men having to push it!
Whatever! I love Ken Stott esp when he played Scots Detective Sargeant Rebus in REBUS
    ( Rebus means puzzle!)
    Thank you for the video
    Peace
    🇬🇧👧

If art robbers do it in real life as they do it in this film than I never understoot why they treat those precious paintings SO roughly and brutally by cútting them out of their franes, just roll them up and toss them in the back of their cars !!
One would think that their way of handling those art pieces would devalue them drastically. Strange.
And shocking to watch them treat a Vermeer like thát !

It is if you want to think about it, going back to the neoliberal system in which we live. A system that encourages crime. If you belong to the group of the Have's you get pats on the back in this system and people admire you, but if you don't belong you are an inferior person straight away. And they think you're a failure.
The mentally weak are very receptive to this idea and get caught up in it. Together with a monocausal view of life, such as the idea that you can only be or become 'happy', if you make sure to belong to the group of the Haves, it also has the consequence that you use all your energy and thinking tuned to that. The notion of social norms and values then increasingly fades into the background.
One associates one's identity with whether or not they succeed in complying with neoliberal values and norms. A system that is fully focused on continuous growth in the pure materialistic sense of the word. Now with this crisis we can conclude that this neoliberal ideology is in its final phase and is now doing everything it can not to plunge into the abyss. A requirement, which has been made up, is to first drastically reduce the number of the world's population and that is now being done by means of mass vaccination.

If you left them in frames things can scrape paint off easily or stab through them. Frames are only good for when they’re hanging safely on walls. Even artists store them this way sometimes. But art thieves are not considered good custodians of great art for reasons too.

15:15 🤣 I luv it! In America they'd have to stop questioning. But even in Canada for example, many places the cops *can keep asking you forever but you don't have to answer.* This is one thing about American law that IS BETTER than other places. *You say "idw talk to you"...and they MUST stop questioning* (they can ask you other things but NOT about your charge.) Miranda v. Arizona

    • @scotttexasbornandbred1063
      @scotttexasbornandbred1063 3 года назад +2

This is from uscourts.gov.. Miranda v. Arizona: Miranda was arrested at his home and taken in custody to a police station where he was identified by the complaining witness. He was then interrogated by two police officers for two hours, which resulted in a signed, written confession. At trial, the oral and written confessions were presented to the jury. Miranda was found guilty of kidnapping and rape and was sentenced to 20-30 years imprisonment on each count. On appeal, the Supreme Court of Arizona held that Miranda’s constitutional rights were not violated in obtaining the confession.
Yes you can take your the fifth, however they can keep asking you anything until you ask for a lawyer. Not just because you say "idw talk to you" .. The Miranda rights are just to inform you that you have the right to remain silent.

Very well observed for a US citizen. Dutch and Afrikaans are almost as closely related as if they were dialects. Pretty sure a South African could understand it.
