    I can't stop thinking about how Vicki ran to Izzy's room to save her and actually managed to save Madison. Such beautiful women did not deserve this monster in their lives. How did he point a gun at his 15 year old daughter who tried to fight him and shoot her in the eye. I absolutely cannot fathom.

    The mental image of that poor little baby crying in her dead mothers arms is heart wrenching. She must have been so scared and confused as to why her mom wasn’t comforting her, taking care of her hunger and thirst, as she got progressively colder and lifeless. I feel literal pain thinking about this, especially having had my own baby. I felt terrible if he was crying for an extended amount of time because I didn’t hear him as soon as I would have like to. Thank god she was ok physically after.

    I told my husband ( before we even had any kids) that if our kid/kids ever say mom/dad is doing something to he/her to 1st believe them ( even if they say its mom) cuz they need someone to believe and support them you can always figure it out if it's true or not later. I was molested it takes so much for a child to finally open up and let a trusted person know what's been going on The worst is not being believed.

    • @RealElongatedMuskrat

      Good on you for having that very important yet difficult convo. If more people did, generations of trauma could be avoided. My grandmother wasn't believed and was told by her mother that she must've imagined it, so when my uncle was molested by my grandfather, my grandmother told him he was lying and must've imagined it (as she probably came to genuinely believe she did too as a child). That uncle died after many years of drug and alcohol abuse. My grandfather was later investigated for molesting children in his care (he was head of a children's ward in a psychiatric hospital). If my uncle was believed, he may not have died and my grandfather could've been charged before he had the chance to molest those other kids. But my grandmother didn't believe him because no one believed her and she learned to accept an adults narrative over a child's, even her own child's. So the cycle continued.

    To be honest, I think the main motive for killing his daughters might not have been for them not to testify against him In court, but because their accusations ended his marriage of 20 years to Jean. Even though he was very "calm" and seemed kinda detached after the fact, it seems to me that this was a crime of passion and in an emotion-filled moment of rage, I guess the marriage issue spoke louder than the possibility of conviction for molesting his kids - which seems like more of a logical approach to the matter. Extremely horrific though... I hope baby Madison got the emotional and psychological support she so clearly needed after this entire situation.

    • @noraa.616
      @noraa.616 3 года назад +25

      It would be great if people (including lawyers, investigators etc) stop calling it a ‘crime of passion’. It ought to be called a ‘crime of batshit obsession’ or ‘crime of rabidly emotional obsession’ or something along those lines. Because those that are likely to commit such crimes won’t be deterred if they heard the respectful term ‘crime of passion’, but they might think twice if they learned that they’re going to be termed as someone that committed a crime of rabidly emotional obsession.

      Yeah, I had a very intense discussion about this with some fellow law students. It was stared by me and another girls stating that we could not imagine to be defense attorneys. I could not defend someone who I know is guilty of murder. However defense attorneys are incredibly important for the justice system. Without them the justice system could not be fair, especially to those accused wrongly. They also protect criminals from to harsh sentences. But I could never take this job bc I would not be able to defend a pos like this one.

      @@internetpotato6734 yeah they’re need and yes they’re crucial for those who aren’t obviously guilty because then they may be wrongly convicted, but when someone is completely obviously guilty, e.g. their brother completely breaks down and admits the whole thing, knowing that he will be incriminating himself, then I just don’t understand what type of person would agree to take their case on and defend them, like I know someone’s gotta do it but like when they really try and defend these disgusting people, I just think they’re bad people who are blindsided by greed and their reputation imo 😕

      The Rocky Rock anecdote is exactly what I needed to lift my spirit after watching this video. Thanks for sharing haha that's pretty great. Reminds me of the fact that there was an old English landowner in my family's hometown called William McWilliam back in the day, idk 17 or 1800s, and in the only surviving painting of him in our museum he looks so miserable. I'll never forget my sister pointing that out and then saying "well he would be, wouldn't he? Willy McWilly. He's got dick in his name twice" 😂😂💀💀💀💀 We call him ol' Double Dick now when we talk about the local history.
