    Thanks. Now that I have watched a couple more videos it looks like the Max may be just a higher quality than the eMax. But still a sub-compact? More powerful? Thanks for your review.

      Neal, the Max series does seem to be better in my opinion than the eMax. The Max 26 has a larger tires, more clearance, more power and more lift capacity. I really like mine and have had it now almost two years! -Jon

    does the mahinda emax 20 hst tractor have at least 2 extra/vacant hydraulic ports in its rear to allow a backhoe thumb with hydraulic option so the backhoe thumb can be operate hydraulically back and forth via oil and using a hand lever or pedal? thanks for any replies!

      @StartBuildingYourDreams  Год назад

      Justin, I don't know about the E-Max 20, but Mahindra offers backhoes with most of their tractors. They have mechanical thumbs as an upgrade option. You probably need to contact your Local Dealer. They may be able to do some upgrades for you. Recommend Checking out Tractor Time with Tim he has some older videos of a hydraulic thumb on his Compact Tractor, or shoot a question over to Harry Skinner in Texas. He has a pretty big following and could probably answer this question better from a Dealer's perspective. Thanks for Watching and leaving a Comment!

    I checked out a Yanmar YT235 I liked the way all the controls are at your finger tips and the seat with adjustable arm rests
    so the loader joystick fits in your hand and the separate controls for forward and reverse and the seat is very comfortable
    I liked it so much I ordered the Yanmar YT 235C with loader and backhoe, tiller and brush hog

      @The Tinker, Thanks for watching and sharing your story! Yanmar is a great brand; good enough that I think almost every John Deere compact tractor uses a Yanmar engine these days and you’ll see them used on everything from sawmills to construction equipment. I looked at the Yanmar too, before going with the Max 26XLT; but it really boils down to whatever tractor is best for you! I saw that Bad Boy mowers just stepped into the Subcompact Tractor Market and Bobcat just relaunched their compact tractor lineup last year! It’s definitely going to make things interesting over the next few years! ~Jon@SBYD!

      Yeah I’m in Australia. There is not much information out there about the Mahindra Max 36. On paper it is a strong little tractor.
      I’m looking for a compact, strong tractor. The height of the tractor is important to me, I want a short tractor. The Max 36 on paper is one of the shortest. A shorter could be get under the trees more easily in my orchard. That it is made in Japan is a plus too.

    What was the price difference for similar Deere or Kubota?

    • @StartBuildingYourDreams
      @StartBuildingYourDreams  3 года назад +4

      Marcel, Thanks for watching and if you're not subscribed already please feel free to subscribe and help build this channel!
      This is just my opinion, It's not so much the price difference as what you get for the price. I did a similar comparison online to my build this week for you to consider relevant numbers for 2020. This is all public information the manufacturers make available to the consumer. The Deere 2025R (TLBM) MSRP is about $37K, the Kubota 23S (with less HP @ 21.6 Engine and 17.7 PTO) MSRP is significantly cheaper at about $25K for a TLBM setup. and the Mahindra 26 XLT HST TLBM with Grill guard and mid PTO is about $35K. The base tractor with loader is cheaper. What I took into consideration is the loader lift capacity. The 2025R Deere is advertised at 882lbs (24in. behind the link arms) and Kubota is advertised at 613lbs. which is still a significant amount of weight. Mahindra advertises 1402lbs. lift capacity to full height at the pivot pins (lower pins where the quick attach system pins onto the loader).
      All of these are excellent tractors! The Deere definitely has a lot of options that are really nice, such as the quick attach mower deck option and new self leveling loaders. The Kubota is excellent for getting into tight spaces if you're into landscaping or looking to step up from a riding mower to a real tractor that can do some serious work (Same with the 1025R from JD). Each one has their positives and negatives. I'm biased, because I own a Mahindra. It simply was the best tractor with the most bang for the buck as they say in my eyes.
      If you're serious about a tractor, I would definitely do your own research and find a dealer that you trust. A tractor is a huge investment much like a car. There are several folks I follow such as @Tractor Time with Tim (John Deere) and @A Ritter Bit Will Do (Kubota), @Outdoors with the Morgans (Kubota) that are tractor owners and have great insight into their own tractor brands. There are also a lot of great used tractors as a lower cost alternative (check out Good Works Tractor). Deere and Kubota both seem to retain their re-sale value well, else @Good Works Tractor wouldn't be in business.
      Thanks for the comment, and hope you enjoy some of my other videos! ~SBYD!

    Best? That is hard to pick.
    Best for your purpose is easier...
    Best for the $$$$ is another question.
    Best standard level seat might be in the Branson. Its an adjustable spring mounted (not quite as good as an air ride)
    Most of Mahindra parts are made overseas. There are some systems assembled in USA. (similar to some other brands. Even Deere has major amounts of parts made overseas.)
    Don't be overly impressed with a cigarette lighter or power port. They are very easy to add for under $30. Similarly the tool box, cup holder and other conveniences can be added to anything cheaply.
    Backhoes are something that tends to end up getting used very rarely and costs a lot. Most homeowner and mini-farm compact tractor buyers are better off renting one when needed.

Where I am at, if they have to deliver a BH to you it is $500 for 8 hours. Being able to not rush a job and using it whenever you want is priceless and 0% financing makes these tractors affordable. Would have bought the SE Model if it had been available. I added the most important things to me, the extra rear remote, the upgraded three point hitch, and cutting edge for the bucket, a must add just to save the bucket over time. I didn’t add the third function valve kit at the time, but I will be, as I plan to get a grapple for the loader. I have an inverse snow blower for the winter.

      Dave, Thanks for sharing your story about your Kioti CK4010 and your setup! I think the front third function and a grapple is on every tractor owner's wish list!
      The Heavy Hitch Toothbar is awesome! It just doesn't do well for back blading based on the shape of my bucket, but loosen dirt, gravel, and rip through smaller roots. I think the Heavy hitch toothbar could easily break a tractor before breaking the toothbar. Mine's only the standard duty model, but it's a beast! I like the idea of rear remotes too. Especially if you ever want to run a hydro top link, stump grinder, or offset flail mower! (All implements on the wish list...lol)

      Bob, Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! As you’ve outlined having a dealer in town that can support you as a paying customer is always a good choice. Deere and Kubota have been in the tractor business non-stop for many years and their tractors seam to retain the best resale value. Bobcat makes good tractors, but they did take a couple year hiatus from the compact tractor market in the US....Whatever you go with, just make sure you do your research, get what you want, do business with a dealer that treats you right, and the tractor you get truly fits your needs! ~Jon@SBYD!

    • @StartBuildingYourDreams
      @StartBuildingYourDreams  4 года назад +1

      The cut quality in my mind is pretty sharp simply because I like thicker taller grass. A tractor is good at many things unlike a professional purpose built lawn mower. On a scale of 1-10, I'd rate it about an 8. That's just my opinion. I still use my lawn tractor, and see why some folks suggest saving the money on a mid mount mower, and just going with a pull behind or having a zero turn. It's hard to justify the added cost to be honest. Roots can bend the guide wheel pins if you're going too fast or not paying attention. My dad has a John Deere mower with similar issues, he's bent a few legs. If you have acres of grass that's smooth without a lot of roots, I'd definitely consider a midpoint mower if you're going to use a tractor for other purposes. You can get just a tractor with a mower, but those aren't very common. Stay tuned, and I'll let you do your own assessment. Thanks For Watching!

      Anthony, thanks for watching and sharing your story! The most important thing is you’re happy with your tractor. I’ll admit, there are times I wish I had a smaller tractor, and there are times I wish I had a bigger tractor. More often than that, I just love having a helping hand from my tractor; especially as a homeowner and DIYer! I think anyone living on as little as .25-.5 acres, could benefit from having a subcompact tractor. For me, the Mahindra Max 26 XLT was like having a 1626, in a smaller package...”most tractor in smallest package” that was my goal. You really do need about 1 acre+ to truly see all the benefits of the Max 26 XLT.
      If I was always going to live on 1/3rd of an acre the rest of my life, a smaller e-max 20S, e-max 22, or BX would be a better fit and would work well. I’d say a true mini/subcompact would work well from .25 acres to 3, maybe 5-10 acres if mostly woods...
      Any thoughts?
