you all probably dont give a damn but does anyone know a trick to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid forgot the password. I love any tricks you can offer me!
Half Polish person here! So the “cz” in Polish is the equivalent of “ch” in English. It’s the same way you would pronounce it in Czech Republic. Hope that helps 😊
omfg the first book sounds so freaking good. i haven't finished the video yet but i know i'm gonna be reading that one for sure! the setup is really good alsoooo
Finally find a calming and so interessting voice. Love your relaxed talking and asmr book hauls too. If you like please keep them up. Would love to also know about your current favorites 2020🖤
I highly recommend Jane Harper's "Lost Man" for anyone who likes a murder mystery told in an entirely unconventional way, through the eyes of an unconventional protagonist. It doesn't have any astrology tho!
I recommend “Society of the Spectacle” by Guy Debord. It’s a great read and is very deep if you think critically about it. It’s a great philosophical book.
Great picks! I really liked Outline (which I picked up in part on your recommendation in a previous vid), and I've been meaning to read Olga. One of my favorite novels from 2019 was Helen Phillips's The Need, which I think you'd like a lot. It's more insightful and reflective than you might expect from the blurbs that focus on the thriller element. And it's about an archaeobotanist; what's not to love? From other books I've read this year, I'd also highly recommend Hernán Diáz's In the Distance, Jordy Rosenberg's Confessions of the Fox, and Ottessa Moshfegh's My Year of Rest and Relaxation. Since you liked Trick Mirror (in the middle of it as we speak!), you should check out Emily Nussbaum's I Like to Watch. There are some phenomenal essays included where she argues for the importance of TV criticism, especially of shows that get dismissed as 'for women' by the boys' club of prestige TV. So good!
I Like to Watch sounds SO GOOD. Adding it to my shortlist. And I will counter that rec with Too Fat Too Slutty Too Loud. I also read R&R this year and thoroughly enjoyed it
I watch for new releases from imprints and presses I really like, or I browse independent bookstores, especially the section with employee recommendations. And also from friends!
just saw the video! love it. i actually asked for christmas for a gift card to one of my favourite libraries so that i can buy a few books to return to my loved hobby lol!!!
Do you have a Goodreads account? Sorry if that's a random question but if you don't have one you should definitely get one! Super helpful, great for tracking and finding more books! 😄
Reading is absolutely my favorite pass time! Totally going to have to check your recommendations out! A few really good books I've discovered this year...were Slugs, and Breeding Ground by Shaun Hutson, two books I cannot recommend except if you absolutely love horror like I do. Other than that? Its been a lot of books about various topics. The Hot Zone, and Crisis in the Red Zone, Richard Preston. The Doomsday Machine...which was a book about a US government worker and his quest to prevent a Nuclear War in the climaxes of the Cold War. A book about Nuclear Accidents, a story of "every" recorded case of nuclear power going wrong. From a woman in the 1800s walking around with a neckless that glows a pretty blue. To Chernobyl. I haven't gotten to check it out, but for my birthday on the 10th. I've gotten a HIGHLY recommended and reviewed book called Midnight in Chernobyl. Goes over the complete construction, explosion, and far reaching to this day effects of the disaster. I've dove into science of the universe, things like Astrophysics For People in a Hurry, The Hidden Reality, Something Deeply Hidden, The Number of the Heavens. All dealing with the concepts such as the Multiverse. A lot of these books aside from Slugs + Breeding Ground have been nothing but educational scholarly novels. Broken down to a simplistic understanding. So just about anyone can walk away informed. There have definitely been others. But are more so horror reference books. Or not currently read. You can see where my fears, interests, and more collide. 2019 was just a kick ass time for learning. Thanks, again Mauve.
Also, I just read a bird hunting book by some dude named Harper Lee. Dont waste your time. Snooze city. Trust me, I'm a connoisseur of literature myself,
Thanks for the recs!! ☺️ ❤️ I will definitely check out a few of these books! Just out of curiosity, do you ever re-read books that you’ve already read? Since you read so many books I was wondering if you ever go back to old favorites.
This video is just so perfect, and had me asleep pretty much instantly last night! I read 'Flights' by Olga Tokarczuk, and loved it, so will put your recommendation in my wish list for Santa to take note! Have you read any of Rachel Cusk 's earlier work? I don't think there's been a book she's written that I didn't like, she forms such beautiful sentences. 'Arlington Park' and 'Country Life' are I think, my favourites of hers. 'And Then There Were None' is a really great Agatha Christie, if you fancy another one. I really enjoyed 'Rebecca's Tale' by Sally Beauman, in which we get to hear Rebecca's version of events... Thanks again for this stupendously enjoyable and relaxing video in the midst of all the pre-Christmas craziness :D
Ooo so many good recs! I have Flights and plan to read it next (you can actually see it on my nightstand in this video). And I planned to buy Coventry, but now I'll look for Arlington Park and Country Life too! Thank you Debs ♥
I read Catch the Rabbit and Trick on your recommendation and loved them so much! So now I'm watching your other book recs. Have you read Stay and Fight by Madeline ffitch? That was my favorite book I read last year.
There is a Polish movie made based on "Drive Your Plow..."! In Poland it's called "Pokot" (it means the display of trophies of the hunt) and it's on Netflix (I don't know if its available in other countries).
I read Drive Your Plow a few months ago thanks to your recommendation. I instantly fell in love with her writing style. Have you read Flights? I’m curious to know how it’s similar and/or different.
I mentioned Flights in one of my other book hauls / recommendation videos! So I'd check the book playlist for that. The short of it is: it's very good, for me I found it better to read just a few pages at a time, I didn't love the curio cabinet throughline, I loved the travel throughline, I liked Plow more
"Drive your plow over the bones of the dead" sounds like the sickest metal album ever
Edit: also digging the new setup 🙌🏼
It's a line from William Blake, poetry is full of good band names 😜

Thank you, Lin! I just added it to my goodreads list.
25 more books than I've read this year. You bookworm you.
can we take a moment to appreciate how beautiful all those covers are
I recommend “Society of the Spectacle” by Guy Debord. It’s a great read and is very deep if you think critically about it. It’s a great philosophical book.

25 books in a year is still 2 per month!
I like the way you think!
just wondering where you find the books you read/ how you get your recommendations? love this video!
I watch for new releases from imprints and presses I really like, or I browse independent bookstores, especially the section with employee recommendations. And also from friends!
If you want a good classic book Wuthering Heights is always my go to!
P.S. love the new set up!
Saving this to watch later, but just wanted to say that I have been waiting for something like this from you! Looking forward to hearing your picks.
hehe we had to read and watch 'Rebecca' for my English class this year and it was one of my favourite school reads yet
just saw the video! love it.

I don’t but I probably should! I do the whole everything-on-Evernote thing
@@MauveASMR ohhhh, I've never heard of Evernote, but if that works for you then I'd say keep using it 😊

Oh so many recs, thank you! I can get behind some horror but only in the daylight 😂
I can undestand you perfectly, so, you are helping me to improve mi listening💞💞💞
The first one sounds pretty good!
Hoping to get blessed with a Fav Books of 2020 video from you 💕
It's coming! Mid December I think
Hearing the disappointment Mauve has in 2 books a month has left me feeling book shamed
Some of them were very bad! If that's any consolation 😜
No no. It's too late. I've already decided to use the Barnes and Noble gift cards I was going to donate. I hope you are happy. 🤫😉
Also, I just read a bird hunting book by some dude named Harper Lee. Dont waste your time. Snooze city. Trust me, I'm a connoisseur of literature myself,
Best asmr ever

I do but not often enough! I always mean to reread more

This is an ASMR video but im stressed trying to figure out how I would ever read 65 books in one year.
An outlier, I promise! That year I surprised myself

No way!! Looks like it's called Spoor here but I don't see it on Netflix atm. I'll keep an eye out!
@@MauveASMR Hope you see it it's really good! It was directed by one of the most well know directors in Poland.
love your book videos!!
Set up is cool.
I read Drive Your Plow a few months ago thanks to your recommendation. I instantly fell in love with her writing style. Have you read Flights? I’m curious to know how it’s similar and/or different.

Do you like Helen Oyeyemi? She was on the Booker International committee when Flights won and it makes SO much sense to me. I love them both so much.
I do! She's super inventive
How do you find new books to read? Especially as you read so much. I feel like I always struggle to find new stuff! Loved the video btw 😊
Usually from friends or presses I like
Watch booktubers :) and get onto the app GoodReads (a social media for booklovers, de site also reccomends you books)
i LOVE this video!!
