      They are a bit on the pricey side but the build goes together like Legos, everything just falls into place! It drives just as well and I highly recommend getting one! I think you have another 4 or 5 months before they show back up in stock so start that savings! LOL!

    The car looks great and has a lot of power. Once I heard a pro driver speaking to a group of kids. He told them that one the keys to driving is throttle control. Since you were shooting video of both cars, it's my impression that the Pegasus was slower. When you went to the Turbo Optima it had more power and you pulled the trigger on certain spots it got tail happy. You had some great laps with more throttle control. When you get that car dialed in you will really have even more fun. It looked great coming off the jump.

    • @AddamsPlayground

      100% it was me having too much fun seeing it sliding around and sending up the big rooster tails of dust and I completely stopped focusing on driving it well! It was a ton faster than the Pegasus! I ran like it was on velcro out in the grass! Some more focus on my part and watering down the track and it would turn in some much faster laps!

      I had not unplugged the Pegasus until I got back inside. I think just having the two cars on at the same time confused my poor radio and caused the glitching. It ran perfectly before I turned on the Pegasus and the next day when it was by itself. So just need to make sure things are turned off on one before running another!

      Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it, I had a ton of fun out there with it. I went a little harder than I planned on but I kind of got lost in sliding it around and with how punchy and fast it was to care too much about wrecking it! I came away with only a few minor scuffs so all is good! It didn't take too long to clean it up, thankfully most blew off with the compressor and the rest was pretty easy to wipe down, much easier than cleaning up a muddy one for sure! I love the looks of it and by all means , paint yours this way! I recommend it, it looks great!! Take care my friend and have a great rest of your week!

      One of these days you will get one! They are so much different to build than the Tamiya kit are. This one went together like a Swiss clock and drives great. All the others go together well too (the ones I have built at least) but this is the best driving of the ones I have. Probably because it is the first 4wd from Kyosho I have gotten. I tend to keep myself up at night thinking about builds, troubleshooting problems, planning out custom builds that I may or may not ever do and trying to solve complex problems like where I put something! LOL!!! I hope and yours are doing well and have a great rest of you week my friend!

      Yeah, I am sure some tuning would help. My driving style is more for my amusement than actually driving fast, I tend to really sling it around the corners as I like seeing it kick up the dirt and dust! I can sometimes tame myself for a few laps but it usually turns into coming in too fast, slam on the brakes and then hammer the throttle around the corner... not graceful but fun! LOL!!

      @AddamsPlayground  Год назад

      Yeah they really do!!! I was really surprised it did not flip the few times I slide in and stopped so fast in front of the camera! It suffered on the track and it is not the tires, it is the soft and sandy topsoil out there. Being so dry it gets super slippery, all the 9 million little pollen puffballs out there did not help either but with my allergies I was not about to get the leaf blower out and kick up all that!!! LOL!

    that thing rips mate, has that classic old school look too ) I think that with all the modern tech we sometimes forget about simple things like leaving other bound cars switched on and look for more complex answers. Did you guys ever get the Marui Ninjas over there? They always looked awesome but are really pricey now.

    • @AddamsPlayground
      @AddamsPlayground  Год назад

      Yeah it runs as good as it looks! I was having such a great time out slinging the dirt and dust around I kind of forgot to take it easy and try to drive like I had some sense! LOL! Kyosho nailed it with this one, but I have heard from a few that the Optima mid is a better running one. I will have to find out eventually!
      Marui never did much here in the states expect in a few areas, southern California, Florida and North East states were probably the 3 main areas back in the day where I would see articles with them. Where I was they only lived in magazines! I do love the look of the Ninja and the Shogun! They are pretty pricey nowadays even for the haggard and beat ones!

    Cool video! Is it possible to upgrade these to a brushless 3s?

    • @AddamsPlayground
      @AddamsPlayground  Год назад +1

      Thanks! Brushless is fine, 3s brushless is probably going to be a bit too much. On a good 2s system it will be more than fast enough for any type of track driving, if not too much to keep traction. 3s is both going to be hard to fit a decent battery in as it have to go between the frame rails and the upper deck and the added torque is probably going to shred the belt or the pulley. They are quality but not ever designed to take that much. If you want 3s romping probably stick with Arrma or something designed to take that abuse with a stronger driveline between the motor and the diffs.

    Awesome run, Addam! Good catch on the radio issue. Is that a Dumborc transmitter you're using?

    • @AddamsPlayground
      @AddamsPlayground  Год назад +1

      Yeah, those laying in bed thoughts are usually the clearest ones I have! Mostly because I am not distracted by everything else going on and I am only focusing on the one thing at the time! I use the Spektrum transmitters and have for years. I got my first one probably 10 years ago once I had 8 or 10 cars all with a different radio and I got tired of playing 'swap the batteries' every time I wanted to drive one as I hate leaving them in the radios as they get forgotten about and can leak and ruin things! I have stuck with them mainly because I can get the knock off receivers for around $13-14 a piece and they will bind to any of the 3 radios I run. I have them all bound in the radios now but occasionally I will need to move one or some thing. I have heard decent things about the Dumbo radios and the Radio link ones too. It is hard to leave when I have so much invested into the Spektrum side now!

    Oh, man, that is such a cool buggy! I told myself I would never again build a Kyosho Legendary, but I am starting to fall for this one... I think you will crush the 10 second barrier with this one, once you get the right conditions on the track!
    Other topic, I hope you don't mind me asking, is there a drain pipe in the cellar where you sit? Reason I ask is I have same thing, I have one right over me and I have become completely paranoid about it, ha ha!

      It is a wonderful buggy, it was joy to build and even more so driving it! It will easily get into the 10s if I go out and water down the track! A little more grip in the in corners and would be much more predictable and quick!
      Yes the plumbing is all right above me and with 3 other people in the house there is probably going to be random running water noises. Is is kind of white noise to me but that afternoon I think my wife was in the shower and the dishwasher was running so it was a constant trickle of water and other stuff going down the drain! I bought one knock off futaba (4pm) receiver.. it worked fine when installed.. in the meantime I bought several more.. time ticks on and i go to use the car with the first one it became glitchy and stupid.. so it got binned... The other ones so far are okay. Were tested on arrival... One is in a car.. its glitchy. But then i used a cheap brushless combo.. so it could be the culprit to.. ive gone back to the futaba R203gf (cheapest ones ) going to use the knock offs in slow cars that dont need highest quality..

      @AddamsPlayground  Год назад +1

      So far I have good luck with these receivers and have them in at least 40-50 cars and I think this is the first glitch from it. It ran perfectly on the second out and think it was just confusing the radio with two cars linked to it at the same time. I have so many cars ready to run I need to go with the cheaper ones to save some money... kind of a dumb thing to say when I am talking about have 100+ kits in the collection all able to to go out and run anytime!
