Then Luke comes in and just ploughs through dozens of them, demonstrating how strong he is. This kind of writing is non existent in films 7-9.

Luke deserved a real Jedi moment, I’m sure most fans would agree. 🙂
Luke went from an optimistic farm boy, to a stubborn trainee, to a powerful Jedi who brought his father back from the Dark Side. Oh right then he turned into an old, cowardly hermit who tries to murder his own nephew because of a dream. The Luke we saw in the Mandalorian is the real Luke. Glad we got to see him again.
@Bartosz L The time when Luke predicted that dream was before the First Order and before Kylo Ren, so how could he have become so depressed or have forgotten what he did before that the old Jedi masters did not?
@Lisa Solier he wasn't a cowardly hermit and WASN'T going to kill his nephew. You idiots who still think that didn't pay attention to The Last Jedi at all. That movie reminded us of why he's a great character; he fails and makes mistakes! That's what makes him relatable. im one of the few who likes TLJ. Luke was such a great jedi that he was able to realize that their code was flawed. I love that he felt despair and fear after Ben even though thats against the jedi code TLJ also ties in well with EU in that one of lukes students gets possessed at one point by Exar Kun (strongest sith of all time), and gets trapped in an alternate dimension so it makes sense that he would seclude himself. I like to imagine luke was never even alive in TLJ but an apparition from that alternate dimension come to guide the future jedi. Even without that retcon, based on TLJ Luke is the only jedi to ghost while still alive. It might even be considered a shatterpoint ability which is the strongest in the SW universe.
I kind of agree but with this appearance in Mandalorian the Luke in The Last Jedi is kind of like "old man Luke" so he was more focused on using the force instead of saber dueling. Overall though I agree I did not like that trilogy at all even at the end of it I don't care about the characters like Rey, Fin or Po. I also didn't feel like Kylo was related to the skywalker family in anyway in how they portrayed him.
I disagree. It would have been boring if he hadn't changed at all and was just a typical master to train Rey and then the end. I like Luke being the main focus of someone who lost faith in everything but becomes the man he used to be to save the Galaxy WITHOUT violence, like a true Jedi.
Mark Hamill talking about responsibility to the fans and to Star Wars, being thankful for the fans. Complete opposite reaction to those who produced the new movies and acted entitled. Mark Hamill is a national treasure.
His return had me in silent tears. I was born after the original trilogy. The prequels were my era. To me, Luke was this legendary character that everyone knew about but whose story had happened long ago. There was always a level of detatchedness there I suppose. But seeing him return in the Mandalorian and knowing I was witnessing it for the first time like everyone else, it gave me a connection to the original trilogy I'd never had before despite having seen them so many times. There's a whole new story waiting to be told with him and I can't wait to witness it.
This scene was truly something special. After all the sadness, after all the heartache, this scene made it all worth it. It was great to see someone I saw as a hero as a child, come back to life.
When I saw the season 2 finale of Mandolorian, I was in awe of the prowess that Luke had, being a Jedi at that time. I did not cry though. Other people did, like Mark said, but I didn't. I was watching the spectacle unfold with awe and wonder.
I did not cry then, but I cry now, watching others cry in that moment. I have said that going to the movies is not the same as Streaming. In the theater, it is a shared experience and there is this kind of Mob Mentality that takes over. Your emotions are fed by those around you. Can you imagine if that had been a Cinematic moment and 200-600 people all experienced that moment for the first time, together? All over the country in the same week? It would have been 1977 all over again! The crowds, the lines, the hype! Seeing it with a small group. Even a small group of like-minded individuals is not the same. Go watch the reaction videos again. At least 3 or four, coming from all walks of life and from all over the world that RUclips is allowed. The reactions are nearly universal. I wasn't quite as emotional because I figured out where they were going as soon as Ahsoka refused to teach him. It all came from Season 4 of Rebels. Ahsoka was saved from death by Ezra Bridger in the World Between Worlds. She LIVES! But if her being saved was not to be alive to teach Grogu, then it was to be alive to send Grogu to where he COULD find a teacher. And there was only one Jedi we knew was alive at this time. AND if he took him, it changed the Sequel Timeline. Ben Solo was no longer his First Apprentice and Moff Gideon no longer continues his cloning experiments for a subject with a high "M-count".. And that changes EVERYTHING else.

This was the Luke we should have seen in the crapshow called The Last Jedi.
im one of the few who likes TLJ.
Luke was such a great jedi that he was able to realize that their code was flawed.
I love that he felt despair and fear after Ben even though thats against the jedi code
TLJ also ties in well with EU in that one of lukes students gets possessed at one point by Exar Kun (strongest sith of all time), and gets trapped in an alternate dimension so it makes sense that he would seclude himself.
What is this "the last jedi" you talk about? Last time I checked the last Star Wars movie was Revenge of The Sith.
It was A crap show. You know who also agrees? Gorge Lucas' Ex wife.

This scene shows Disney destroyed Dark Troopers, thats it. One more great thing from old canon made a piece of garbage by disney.

Mark Hamill. Genuinely one of the nicest guys in Hollywood. Great that he has as much fun as the fans do.
Awesome to hear Mark passionate about Star Wars again and able to really share that joy with the fans again. So heartbreaking what the sequel trilogy especially The Last Jedi did to the franchise but more so the fandom.
What a class act, thank you Mark Hamill for your loyalty to us fans!
You probably will never see this Mark but Thank so much for this. You brought back so much emotion to me from when I was a child that I never new was there. You made more people happy then you ever thought.
Has Mark ever directed anything? Let this man do an episode.
He's directed a mockumentary, Comic Book: The Movie.
So happy for you Mark! This will be legendary forever for SW fans.
Mark Hamill is such a class act. I really appreciate the HE appreciates his relevince in how many lives he has effected in the most positive way possible, and is himself, humbled.
Who’s here after Boba Ep.6?
Love Mark Hamill! Glad he respects the character and the fans!
Please can we all just agree that the Sequels were a collective bad dream and nothing more than that. At least the Mandalorian is getting it right.
Shame that everything will lead to the sequel trilogy
@@dr.robotnick1888 I really hope not. There is rumor they will remove them and make them an alternate timeline.
@@scottmcmaster4927 not gonna happen, that just sounds silly and made up by somebody really desperate (I heard that rumour months ago btw). I think it would be best to just let the OT story and those characters go and start with something new. SW fans are too obsessed with bringing back old characters (which is insanely hypocritical because one of their main gripes with ROS was that Palpatine returned). Time to move forward so long as Filoni and co are at the helm of course...
@inefekt69
How is that hypocritical to want to see more Luke but hating Palpy’s return? Those are totally different things. That’s like saying you don’t like black coffee, so you must hate hot beverages.
Yeah.....see ya in 10 years when everybody loves the sequels...Mark My words
THIS was the last Jedi that I wanted, him wandering the galaxy in danger and yet at peace within himself and still pursuing the secrets of the Force. if they do this right, they can truly explain how he failed and gave up, and I'd accept Johnson's Skywalker with far fewer question.
There is no explanation, other than RJ projected his personal cowardice and villainy onto an innocently heroic character, and this will never be accepted.
Luke Skywalker is my hero and we will always love Mark Hamill , this was the real Luke we all waited for, much gratitude :)))) for the record I cried too : )
Mark, that beard looks great. You look great. You sound great. I'd love to see Luke's adventures as he struggles to be a peaceful teacher in a violent galaxy. Bet that could get greenlit any time. Love 'ya, man!
The Mandalorian achieved in one sequence, an amount of positive fan reactions that 3 movies failed to even come close to achieving.
The Force Awakens was universally praised when initially released. There was a huge positive reception
@@sebwarriner I think the term you were searching for was "universally shilled."
@@autisticlegionnaire3624 nah, she got it right.
@@sebwarriner - true enough, but to be fair, that was the peak of positive praise for the trilogy.
His performance as L.S. in the last episode of season two was absolutely AMAZING! I almost cried, ok maybe I did a little, but it was moving to me as a lifelong Star Wars fan of 58 years old! BRAVO!!!
So happy to see Mark Hamill return as Luke one last time, an absolute legend.
I love the fact that he was actually there in those scenes
I'm so glad Mark got his closure for Star Wars that he was robbed of in the sequels :')
binge watched it in 2 days with my girl and man it started with goosebumps and shivers and when we saw luke i just broke and cried like a baby. seeing luke this way again after all these years and in the way we imagine him was beautiful!
Mark is number 1. He's iconic.
while I have some problems with the writing behind Luke's depiction in _The Last Jedi,_ Mark Hamill does a fantastic job acting in that movie and I thoroughly enjoyed watching him as an artist
