Lol I still have to watch that one, usually I just watch Sagan Hawkes retrospective supercut when I need a refresher on the franchise

fnaf lore is complicated but not at the same time imo i think it’s more convoluted. since they don’t confirm anything a lot of the important lore is speculation that youtubers makes theories about so it’s hard to know what is facts and not. Then there is the books which makes my brain hurt cause its hard to know if there trying to tell us things about the main games or not. sorry about the rant and btw wanted to say i love the videos i hope to see more in the future!

Thank you so much, I'm glad you're enjoying! The fact that so much of what we "know" is speculation certainly makes things more complicated lol. But like I said in the video, Steel Wool seems to have found their footing, so I'm excited for the future!

    Complicated? Absolutely.
15:40 via Silver Eyes and Into the Pit, it's considered to be 1985. So the general scope being Crying Child bitten in '83, five kids in '85, FNAF 2 in '87, and FNAF 1 around '93.
And maybe the first Fazbear's Pizza between the Diner and FNAF 2 was 1's building with the Unwithereds. Though I think 3's phone calls give springlock tutorials for Fazbear's...
If not for Scott's supposed confidence, all "there are no errors in the story, only your interpretation" (at least I'm pretty sure he said that), I like to imagine his response to the lore conflictions as a mesh of Phone Guy lines going "Oh, um um um um um... uh... uh... uh... ya know."
Lately I've been trying to make a chart on the major human characters (4 Afton's, 2 Emily's and 5 missing kids), and their animatronic counterparts across the games and books - solid or speculative.

I admit I'm not super familiar with the books, although they're something I'd love to look into in the future. That sounds like a super interesting chart, I hope you have luck in finding some answers and having some fun!

    Nice video!
I know people say the lore is convoluted, but, especially after the Mimic reveal...I dunno, I feel like it's a bit easier to solve and understand now, especially since there is evidence to say Glitchtrap might indeed be the Mimic1 branch.

Yeah, I feel like Steel Wool has definitely figured out where they want to go story-wise, and it's helped out a lot! I mentioned it in the video but they're clearly trying to be a bit more clear on what's happening and it shows in a really good way

this is a great breakdown! i might be insane about fnaf, but i think its very digestible for someone who is new to the franchise

@theinsightfulllama not sure if anyone picked up on this but the sequels of FNAF are inconsistent retcons that sometimes contradict each other. But I think it’s done intentionally. Keep in mind that the games center around animatronics popular in the 80’s in story canon. Like a lot of media in the 80’s & early 90’s a franchise “sequel” might be put out that has little to do with the original story beyond a couple key things. If the franchise made its way into the late 90’s or later, it might have a sequel that only shared the name with only one tie in at the end. Which, if popular, would lead to a reimagining of the ideas or a whole new restart in the series. I say this because I think an element of this is that the creators might initially creating inconsistent world elements, false narratives, & unreliable storytelling. I don’t think it’s a troll but rather part of the 80’s/90’s nostalgia for the kids entertainment industries that we remember but taking a dark twist. In this case, I think it’s a more meta feel towards media of 80’s/90’s.

That's a viewpoint I hadn't considered! Keeping things mysterious was definitely important for the series, especially early on.

@@theinsightfulllama if you think about it, not answering all the “why” especially with villains seems to allow more excitement & tension to build in a narrative. When you find out why a villain or monster is the way they are, you lose the mystery and otherworldliness they brought. Think of the Halloween franchise, when you don’t really know why Michael started killing, made him a huge threat to the town. But you add he’s after Lori, then it’s less menacing though anyone in his way still in danger. Then you add this cult angle the did, then it’s like well a secondary victim. The menace loses its imposing nature.
I also want to say how great your videos are & look forward to seeing more in the future. It’s a joy when a creator talks about something they love but can be critical than listening to fan boys all day or having the eternal critic constantly hating everything. Looking forward to the next one!

I have a theory about the fnaf timeline.5 nights at Freddy's 3 Takes place in 2015 (the year it was released)30 years after the most likely Date For the missing children's incident.30 years After Freddy fazbear's pizza closed. I think this Due to some evidence in the survival log book. There's a really good video explaining the theory on RUclips

I'd be interested in what sort of evidence you're talking about! I got the Survival Logbook for Christmas but I haven't looked into it fully yet.
