"Few" and "Plenty" refer to how many *kinds* of fish/crabs can be caught in a given area, not how abundant they are. "Few" means just one species, "Plenty" means two or occasionally three.

Look in the Encyclopedia under "Open Ocean" if you want to find out where the BIG kind of tuna are.

It's not technically possible to finish the game without at least some Day fishing, I'm afraid. There's at least one more plot-essential task after the Twisted Strand's quest that demands a diurnal fish.

Equipping the hook and trap you received from the shrines will boost your chance of catching an aberrant. Very useful if you're looking to complete your Encyclopedia or add new paint color options at the Painter's.

Abyssal = Zone of absolutely zero light, down to the sea floor. Hadal = Scary-deep trenches in sea floor.

2:02:58 - If you start befriending the dog by tossing it the bits of fish, rather than feeding it solely from your hand like you did, the famished pooch will scarf up the scraps directly from the beach along with a mouthful of sand. The fact that it barfs up a trinket later on makes more sense that way. ;-)

The red exploding jellyfish are hazards only, and can't be caught. The one you need for the Researcher, you just have to keep night-trawling for until it turns up randomly.

You can talk to the robed figures at any time of day or night, until their quests are done. After they've received their fish and handed over your reward, none of them will respond to you: they're no longer interested in anything except waiting for the end of the world.

Did you forget the Photographer's missing lenses? She's a late addition to the game, so her mission doesn't appear on the Pursuits board AFAIK.

You can save a lot of time by setting your crab traps within easy reach of the Traveling Merchant's pontoons, or within the harbor of Greater Marrow. No need for special trips to check on them; just stop off at the ones where the water is roiling on your way in and out of port. Don't worry about depleting the crabs in any given area; any space that registers as "Plenty" will provide similar catch rates for both crab types found there. Don't worry about traps breaking from being left out too long, either: when their duration bar turns fully red, they just quit adding to their catch.

1:45:06 - Despite the pictures of the engines being static, it's apparently the case that you can swivel their propellers to new angles so they still work right, even if the motor is installed sideways or back-to-front.

The hitbox of the buttons are probably VERY precise, which is why you died. I'd know since I've died on night 5 several times and went through the SAME issue as you.
