    Happy to see this one! I did my research and wanted an Impact. They were out, found something else that would have worked, but then it was out of stock when I was ready to order 🤣
    Went back and Impact told me they would have a few drop the next day. Got my order in and I have been very happy with my build. They are less than 2 hours away from me also, so practically buying local!
    Hope to meet Tate when I get a chance to go try a match at Ninnekah this year.
    My next PRS match is next Sunday. Hope to do well with my Impact action and Stuteville chambered Bartlein barrel!!
    Have a great week, Eric!

    Great conversation. As a machinist for 42 years I've seen a lot. I've built a few rifles and have always said most gunsmiths are not machinists. GD&T is pretty simple. Make things round, square and straight. People who care about what they are doing make good products. It is hard to find people like that these days. Thank you both for what you do.

    It’s been about 7 years proudly running Impact Precision actions without a single issue whatsoever. From one action back them to half a dozen these days. I can think of that as long Tate keeps putting out the best products, I will keep proudly running his stuff.
    He’s a true gentleman!

    My first pick for a PRS action was a disaster. Luckily a few guys I trust said don’t mess around and get an Impact. That was about 6 years ago and the prize table cert was a big help. Thanks Tate!

    I had two different actions go down roughly the same time
    One company wouldn't help me one bit.
    Thankfully the other action was an Impact cause Tate talked to me personally and bent over backwards to help me out.
    He had no reason to, no reason to think I'd ever buy another action. But I've bought a few more for sure.
    The other story is. I was using a different action at a pre match that couldn't handle the dust that was getting blown into my action. I was having to take the bolt out and wipe it down before each stage.
    I passed Tate and asked him how to the impacts were doing. This was when his was number 1, the next gun to it was number 3, the next to it was like.. 4. Every one of them looked like mars took a dump in the action but they all ran butter smooth. I was sold..

    I was thinking about the previous interview with John Meyers where brass life for the 284 was discussed and remembered the relatively new 6.5 Weatherby RPM (Rebated Precision Magnum). It uses a longer and beefed up version of 284 Win brass and, like the PRC is a 65,000psi magnum. The case is 2.57" long, so it would need to be trimmed and likely neck turned or reamed, but since it is a higher pressure cartridge than the 284, it probably has a beefier base.

    Erik I was surprised that you interviewed Tate. I doubt if you remember but when I wanted to build a custom rife I reached out to you and asked who would you recommend and not have to wait for over a year to get an action and you recommended Impact Precision! I’m the proud owner of a 737R Impact Precision action, Bartlein barrel chamber in 6BR by Wade, Tate’s partner. In a Foundation stock that you said you had in on your 6BR!
    Now I don’t know if Tate will appreciate what I am going to to say now but I sent my bolt to Speedy to blueprint and I am waiting to hear from Speedy.
    Tate, I really hope that you can get your production geared up as many of the replacement parts I want are just not available now.
    Thanks to both of you and “keep em small!”

      You are Blueprinting an Impact bolt? What are you hoping to gain? Just wondering cause I thought people buy an Impact cause its already done when they make it.

    • @soonersteve3733
      @soonersteve3733 6 месяцев назад

      @@mikebell611 I have not heard or seen any thing about Impact bolts being blueprinted. I know it’s a very popular action in the PRS community however I have seen

    • @soonersteve3733
      @soonersteve3733 6 месяцев назад

      Seen evidence in the method Speedy uses and his method is integrated in the Borden actions which are used by a long list of Championship shooters just pick a discipline. While I have not heard from Speedy as of this post I would be the happiest guy in the world if Speedy reports that there is nothing he can find! If that is the case I will be sending a message to the shooting community that Impact Bolts are great and no need to blueprint them. But if I hear back from one of the most respected shooter and gunsmith that the bolt is in need of blueprinting I also let the shooting community know that. I think knowing the answer to this is valid when you consider the cost difference between a Borden action and an Impact action.

    Organically growing is the only way to go. Don't pay for advertising, nothing. I built Tactical Keychains over many years, to finally sell it a few years ago. Now I'm doing R&D in my shop and not production. Which is the fun part anyways!
