Cats are typically faster than squirrels but squirrels are much better climbers than house cats so the squirrels are typically safe if a climbable object is close. This Bobcat was faster AND at parity as a climber with the squirrel. Game over.

Nature can be cruel, but this is how the balance is kept. Bobcats are hard to film, and you did a good job. I've only seen one in the wild and only got a couple seconds of footage.

My friends dad said that it was a fox squirrel and that years ago they had a black one before this white one showed up. It could have been someone's pet that got loose the more I'm thinking about it. We just don't have squirrels that big here.

I live in the mountains of North Carolina and I've seen many bobcats over the years. That squirrel-snacking example looks pretty small to me. Maybe a female or juvenile?
