Hola! Solo quiero aclarar que los mexicanos no ponemos tanto comino a la carne, es un verdadero error. El comino se usa en muy poca cantidad en algunas comidas y en su mayoría lo combinamos con carne de puerco. Saludos!!
Thanks for the seasoning blend recipes. Very helpful video. The jars are cute. I'm a subscriber. So glad I found your channel. You have such a calming presence. You're a natural in front of the camera.
Great video. I make my own mixes, too, but not the Greek mix. I sure will be making it from now on. I hope your allergies let up soon, Flo. It was clear that you made a super fantastic video while you felt terrible. My prayers tonight will include a special request for you. Blessings...jo
Thank you Mrs. Lum! I am always interested in what people use to season their food. It always amazes me how common they are across the US. I will try the taco and others for sure. Thanks Again!
Awesome, already did my own taco seasoning, but the other two will be a great addition to my kitchen. Thanks so much for sharing all these great healthy alternatives.
Thanks for the video. Going to make all three for my little brother and his girlfriend. Neither will cook with whole spices. Only “steak seasoning” and “taco mix”. Good stuff.
My favourite homemade spice mixes! So simple to make at home without all the additives. Hope you’ll give them a try! An affiliate link to the jars can be found in the description and in my Amazon shop. Thank you for your support!
That was super interesting! I recently learned how to make Cajun seasoning mix because my local stores did not have it. It is so yummy! I will definitely do the taco seasoning you just showed. Thanks!
Found your video yesterday and made the ranch seasoning blend last night. I rarely if ever buy prepacked seasonings but was curious about the HV ranch dry mix that gets so much hype. Well, I was completely underwhelmed to say the least. And the artificial ingredients were a turn off as well. I made dressing with your recipe using mayo and buttermilk, it was so creamy and delicious! Thank you for the recipes, I'll definitely be trying the rest as well! :)
Can you do these rubs: Lemon pepper, creole (like tony caheree or old bay ) Italian blend, jerk, garlic butter, bbq coffee rub with garlic. Can you also do a video on spices we should have in kitchen (for beginners or newbie meal cooking) thanks a million
Thanks I usually only buy organic spices with no fillers. Just bought some Shawarma spice mix today and just double checked it so all good. Will be trying all your spice blends soon especially the ranch. Your eyes look clear and bright in the video so maybe not allergies. BTW you have fantastic eyes.
Love it! I started making my own spice mixes maybe 20 years ago? I mostly wanted to get rid of the salt in my diet so I leave the salt out. Some of those ingredients sounds like you're doing a chemistry experiment instead of cooking . What kind of paprika do you use? I would like to see more videos like this.
No I don’t. That one I buy because I don’t usually have those spices on hand and I don’t use it often. But the one I have only has the 5 spices in it. No additives.
The link to the spice jars is in the description. I am not loyal to any particular brand of spices. I usually buy organic if the price is not over the top. But the colour might matter. For example, if there are different brands you can compare, buy the greener herbs (if they are meant to be greener.)
I love making my own spice blends. We had to start doing it years ago due to allergies, of course, but am so thankful that we did. Thanks for sharing. I've been wanting ranch and Greek seasoning blends. Being dairy free has made the ranch harder to come by. We have a similar blend that we make and we use it on potatoes. You could use your ranch on potatoes (fries, wedges) in the air fryer. Just mist them with your oil sprayer and sprinkle the ranch on them. We all love them and often will eat that as a small meal. If you topped them with cheese and bacon that would just take them to the next level. Am I making you hungry? I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. ;-)
Flo, The amount of spice mix you made were for how many servings? I'm single and don't want to make more than I can reasonably use. Any suggestions for smaller batches? What about jar sizes too? Your videos are a calm place in a crazy world. Thanks for the sanity. Dude is a hoot and a half. His dry sense of humour is very appealing. Do you have a spice mix for chilli (sp) 🌶? Looking for one for meat and beans with some heat and depth of flavour.
Thanks so much, Jerome! The taco mix can be used for approx 7lbs of meat if you use 4 tsp per lb, ranch mix can be used for approx 9 cups of dressing and the Greek seasoning can be used for approx 16.5lbs of chicken if you use 1 tbsp per 3lbs. You can always cut the recipes in half or more. The spice jars are 4.5 oz. Hope that helps!
Love your channel! My friend recommended your channel to me while I was home visiting. I've been living in Vancouver for over 10 years and it's wonderful I can totally relate to you and Dude in so many ways. May I ask where did you buy those little spice jars? TIA
Can you please do a spice garlic eggplant recipe. Love the P.F. Change version, but would rather make it at home. Just love your channel and Dudes taste. You guys crack me up.
Fantastic video! I would love to see more like this! Your parsley is very green, as is the dill, do you dry it yourself, or may I ask where you get it?
I think it was just Safeway brand parsley. Dill may been McCormick. But I always try to find the greenest dried herbs. I may try drying the herbs myself this summer.
For the Ranch Seasoning, if you're using it just to season some chicken breasts, do you just use the dry seasoning mix only without the mayo or sour cream? Thanks. Also, thank you Flo for doing this video. I do notice that the packaged Taco and Ranch seasonings that I buy are salty and was concerned about that. Now, I can make my own. Thank you :)
Yes, you can just sprinkle it on your chicken or you can marinate the chicken in 1/4 cup yogurt or buttermilk mixed with a teaspoon of the mixture. Otherwise you won’t get the tangy creamy flavour of the ranch dressing.
Thanks! This was really helpful! I would love to see a fajita seasoning mix recipe, but I suppose it would be very similar to the taco seasoning. Btw, you have very lovely hands. Mine look like catcher’s mitts. 😣
I was making something tonight that needed Italian Seasoning. I didn't realize I had run out. However, I found a recipe online that tells you how to make it. Then, I remembered this video, but couldn't remember what spice blends you actually prepared (I'm definitely in for the Ranch Blend! :-). Anyway, had this epiphany that maybe you could put your spice blend mixes in your next cook book! :-)
I love cooking, but I also love chemistry. I hate seeing the demonization of basic and completely safe chemicals in the comments by people who are afraid of things they can't pronounce. Makes me sad.
My reason for avoiding dried parsley is that it smells like dried grass clippings, along with the dried forms of chives and cilantro. Certain herbs don't survive the drying process.
Taco Seasoning- 4 tsps. chili powder, 3 tsps. cumin, 2 tsps. paprika, 2 tsps. onion powder, 2 tsps. garlic powder, 1 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes or less cayenne pepper, 1 tsp. oregano, 1 tsp. kosher salt, and 1 tsp. black pepper. Shake before using. Use 4 tsps. per pound of meat.

Shake before use. 1 Tbsp. with a cup of yogurt to marinate chicken or meat, sprinkle on salad or use as a base for a greek salad dressing or you can use it as a dry rub.
You are a complete doll! Thank you so much!
How much water per lb of taco seasoning?
Hola!
Solo quiero aclarar que los mexicanos no ponemos tanto comino a la carne, es un verdadero error.
El comino se usa en muy poca cantidad en algunas comidas y en su mayoría lo combinamos con carne de puerco.
Saludos!!
👍👍Thank you so much for sharing your ingredients for this natural blend of spices and dressings!
Thank*you.
Thanks for the seasoning blend recipes. Very helpful video. The jars are cute. I'm a subscriber. So glad I found your channel. You have such a calming presence. You're a natural in front of the camera.
Wow, I couldn’t believe what they put in those spices! Thank you Flo, I’ll be making my own from now on!
If you did some research, you'd see that nothing in these seasonings are dangerous... besides sodium chloride.
That is a great idea and something we should consider when getting ready to make foods we eat on a regular basis.
That information will come in handy. Keep putting out all the quality content. Your delivery style makes it easy follow along. Thank you!
Great video....and great ideas. Hope you get some relief from the allergies...I go through the same thing Spring and Fall.
Eat dill pickles twice a day for a week. Allergy symptoms for me go away.
Thanks for this. I want to start making my own and you saved me a lot of time searching for the recipes!!
Need too get some jars like those , and really follow your recipes .
Love these containers and how you are using them! I am a spice nut too.
I just love you! Your videos are fun and soothing to watch. Simple, ordinary and joyful, I strive for that everyday! Thank you!
Thank you! This video was a great idea. Have a new heart patient on a low sodium diet here... this will help a lot.
Lovely, thanks. I mix my own too, for the same reasons as you.
Super tip here👍🏼! Thanks for sharing with us🙏🏼☘️
All these spice blends would be great on popcorn!
Awesome, already did my own taco seasoning, but the other two will be a great addition to my kitchen. Thanks so much for sharing all these great healthy alternatives.
Love those jars!!! ❤️ thanks for another great video!!
More please. Love these!!!!
Another great video, definitely will try all. Thanks!
Thank you Flo and Dude
These seasonings are great. Thanks for all your efforts
This was great! I'm allergic to some brands of taco mixes, so this will help with not having to worry about that at all.
Thanks for the recipes! Love those little jars.
Thanks for the video. Going to make all three for my little brother and his girlfriend. Neither will cook with whole spices. Only “steak seasoning” and “taco mix”. Good stuff.

Flo Lum Thank you so much for these recipes! Where do you buy the base spices you used for the blends? 💓
Just from the local supermarket.
Cute spice jars!🤗👍
That was super interesting! I recently learned how to make Cajun seasoning mix because my local stores did not have it. It is so yummy! I will definitely do the taco seasoning you just showed. Thanks!
Thank you for posting! Love the jars!

Great help! Thanks!
Thank you for the great recipes
It was a few years ago that I started reading labels on those spice packets and I could never pronounce them either. ha ha. Nice job with this video.
I just found your video ! I would like to know how long will the spice blends keep for in my cabinet in a glass jar. Thank you so much!

Cooking is a chemistry

Thanks Flo! Do you make an Asian powder with 5 spice? The taco powder is good for popcorn too.
No I don’t. That one I buy because I don’t usually have those spices on hand and I don’t use it often. But the one I have only has the 5 spices in it. No additives.
Thanks for making this video!
Thank You! I love Taco seasoning....gonna make this for sure!!! I always make my own ranch, so much better!!

What a very nice thing to say! My hands are awful! Lots of eczema... dry and itchy. Must have been a “good” day.
Flo Lum No evidence of any of that! Just the elegant, beautiful hands I’ve always envied!
Great Video! How about Garam Masala next time? Feel better soon!
Thank you Flo this is great! Can you also advise for mix Provencale and Italian mix? Great video ❤
Where did you find the measurements for all the spices?
These are recipes I’ve been using and tweaking for years.
P.S. I love those little Jars!!!
What kind of chilli is used for taco mix
It just says chili powder on the spice bottle but you can look for Mexican chili. It's definitely not Indian chili.
I was making something tonight that needed Italian Seasoning. I didn't realize I had run out. However, I found a recipe online that tells you how to make it. Then, I remembered this video, but couldn't remember what spice blends you actually prepared (I'm definitely in for the Ranch Blend! :-). Good idea, Colleen!
Thank u
Yummy!!!
How can they not know if they put mustard in it?
Right?! 🤦🏻♀️
I have a seizure condition so I avoid traditional ranch dressing. It has MSG in it. Congratulations for your recipe which leaves out MSG.
I wish these recipes were written down!
It must have been hard to say "Stay healthy" when you are having a sinus attack. Maple pollen gets me here in Ohio. Thanks for the recipes!!!

My reason for avoiding dried parsley is that it smells like dried grass clippings, along with the dried forms of chives and cilantro. Certain herbs don't survive the drying process.
Really? I don’t find that with parsley. I hardly ever use chives and I have never seen cilantro.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️❤️❤️😇
I would be playing with fire if I were to put the labels on the jar tops.
👍⭐💖
The Dude approves
Mam I am from india you are so beautiful superb face cut thanks for seasoning .....
The ad i saw before this video was for Clubhouse seasonings.
Hm... they know everything! 🤔
What are your families favorite 4 meals?
