Ur noon opening music 🎶 🎵 malungkot ..
Down memory lane in my younger days thank you po more power and videos
From 1999 to 2004, when I was studying at the Technological Institute of the Philippines I always passed by that street because before I had lived in Cainta so I had to ride the G-Liner bus. There are so many memories within that 5 years going from Cainta to Quiapo and vice versa.
At least may sense of history talaga.
☺️🙏🙏
Forgot what grade I was in elementary but I remember going to a Magnolia ice cream factory in the New Manila area on a field trip. And then many years after that, when we returned to the Philippines, it was already a big shopping mall called Robinsons Magnolia.
Could be anywhere from 70s to early 90s. I started grade school in the mid 70s, high school in 80s and finish college by 1990. I remember it still standing, though different owner by that time, not San Miguel company anymore.
@@glenndavidtorres it was in 1989 or 1990 when the Soriano bros. sold Magnolia to Nestĺe after selling San Mig brewery to an Australian firm and when Danding Cojuangco returned to power in 1993,he bought them back to what was before then.
@@kyletorres202 so my timetable was correct, it was during that time that I thought ownership change hands.
Oh, and what about a feature about the pre-war apartment buildings along Mabini and MH Del Pilar streets like the Syquia and Ramona apartments? Sadly the Michel apartments have been lost already. Thanks.
P.S. Love your channel. It's nice to know that there are people who still appreciate these heritage structures.
Hello I haven’t feature Syquia Apartment yet because i hardly see the apartment from outside. I featured the Silahis Hotel next to it btw☺️🙏
I hope you feature it. I had a friend (passed away a year ago) who lived there for many years. It's a really beautiful apartment. it was the South Syquia apartments. 🙂
NakakaMiss..
Thank you for taking us along these streets, Fern.
We love going back in the past. KaRUclipsro ☝️☝️☝️
Yes totoo po yan
Diyan tambayan ng Samahang Ilocano noon in between.Iglesia ni Kristo School at Magnolia building
I miss the Magnolia Plant on Aurora Blvd. Had great memories having ice cream at the ice cream parlor on site. Missed my favorites, too.
i remember the Magnolia in aurora blvd. we use to go there with my family and i always order their strawberry cobbler.
Magnolia ice cream house.. quite near St. Paul college/university .. along Aurora Blvd.. missed the wide variety of ice cream delicacies.. like banana boat.. banana split.. coke float.. chocolate sundae.. twirls.. etc.. all at affordable prices.. today one can only have those ice cream delights at pricey restaurants.. gone are those days..
Nadaanan mo rin yung old Feati U extension (along echage) para sa mga naval and maritime students, at grounds for ROTC drills. Nice blog.
Nag umpisa lang pala sa isang foreigner ang first ownership magnolia then san miguel wow thanks for the info mr fern and mabuhay

Old buildings and warehouses here in San Francisco, Ca were being renovated and converted into condo units and lofts. Those buildings were built before and after the turn of the 20 century. That’s too bad seeing old buildings there in Manila were being demolished and replaced by new.If by any chance you attempt to visit the Bay Area, I’ll tour and guide you to visit those historical buildings.
Thank you sir, sana ituloy tuloy mo lang Ang pag alala sa mga old story Ng ating bansa, ala ala Ng nakaraan, sarap panoorin
I wish they retain the whole building or restore this Architectural gem.
Thank you for sharing this brief history of one of the oldest Filipino dairy companies here in our country. You never siezed to amaze us. My mother had been patronizing all of their products for so long. She often told me that every morning, a Magnolia truck would come on every household that had their bottles to be refilled. Their milk has became part of every Filipino's breakfast and evenings. My mother's favorite was the Chocolait milk drink. It is during the 90s when the Melon flavored milk was first displayed onto the grocery shelves, and was an instant hit.

Your are right Sir that building beside the bridge is the original Head office of SM Manila, Inc. I worked there as a Recruitment Officer. During lunchtime, we used to see Tatang Henry Sy walking everywhere the compound in a very simple white shirt, pants and slipper. Beside the is the San Diego Building where some staff are working too. And on the other building is the warehouse where we sent our qualified applicants for Stock Clerk position. That is the place where most stocks are being arranged before it reaches other department stores for display.
magnolia fav ko yan

This is a great Vlog series. I wish the vlogger had an ASSISTANT -- who can speak ENGLISH -- and can add English SUBTITLES. Then a lot more viewers can enjoy this series. Not only the foreigner expats, but also the Filipinos who speak other dialects (Cebuano, Ilocano, Waray, Maranaw, etc.) instead of Tagalog.

thanks so much po for vlogging such an amusing history of Manila...As a Manilenia,it's such a nice feeling reminishing those good old days...
🙏🙏☺️☺️🥰
When I was in high school I take the bus from City hall that passes along Echague street, there's a revolving restaurant in one of the buildings where I had dinner with my ex. I also remember they call "sa ilalim ng Quiapo" where you can buy native products. It's so weird to see it now the big difference back then, thanks.
Salamat Sir!! Mabuhay Ka!!
Wow! Talaga?

Kasi 1985-1986 I was 1st Year Highschool that time.

Reminisce Magnolia Dairy Products Plant, an SMC subsidiary….you can eat all the ice cream you want while touring the plant pero hnd mo pwd ilabas after the tour😋😊😋
We always go to that Magnolia in Aurora Blvd….we would walk from our house in 5 St Gilmore……we also walk to school in St Paul College at the corner of Aurora Blvd and Pacific Ave..
Growing up, the only ice cream I knew was Magnolia Ice Cream. I know the Magnolia Echague store well. It is small kiosk with few tables but looks upscale. This is where you go to have a different vibe compared to regular cafes. Back then it was pure class to order your date a Banana Sundae or a Strawberry or Chocolate Parfait. Aurora Blvd branch came later.
FEATI U my alma mater, angsaya noong araw dyan nagpaprent ng comics sa gilid at madami kainan sa lrt carriedo at bukas na sinehan sa avenida, there is an old FEATI U at Echague at 16:12, an old Distilleria Limtuaco used to ba at 19:33
😊😊😊👍👍
Before pandemic I’m so scare to walk probably now it’s better , actually I’ll be coming to visit Manila again.
Namimiss ko yung Magnolia factory sa New Manila.
Na-amazed ako dahil Ang laki Ng ipinagbago Ng echague malinis at lumuwag. It's been decades that I have not been there
Un cousin ko dyan nagtrabaho evry christmas may quezo de bola kami pati IceCream.kaya sawa kmi s quezo de bola at ice cream.sayang nagsara na sya.
Done watching Sir Fern, i did not know na dati palang nasa Echague st ang Magnolia, alam ko lang nasa Aurora Blvd sa Cubao but now tinayuan na nila ng Robinsons mall
☺️🙏
