    13. Double Intercept Form of Equation of Line -- This is another type of equation of line we are learning in which the equation carries both intercept - x intercept and y intercept. The equation of double intercept form is given by -- x.a + y/b = 1. Here a & be are the x intercept as well as y intercept respectively. So whenever we have x as well as y intercept made by an straight line we can very easily write the equation of line as given above.
    This straight line video lesson deals with the derivation of this equation. To derive this double slope intercept form watch the video lesson very nicely. I believe this Double intercept form of equation will definitely help you in increasing the concept of Straight line -- Coordinate Geometry.
    Double Intercept Form of Equation of Line is very important concept in straight line mathematics. The term Double intercept means the our given line is making intercepts on x axis as well as y axis.
    If we know the x intercept of line and y intercept of the line then we can easily write the double intercept form of equation of line.
    The general equation for double intercept form of line is given by ;
    x/a + y/b = 1
    Here, a & b are the intercept on x and y axis respectively. The value of a & b may be positive of negative depending upon the situation, whether the line is cutting positive or negative x or y axis.
    I hope this Double Intercept Form of Equation of Straight Line video lesson was helpful in gaining some concepts to write equation of a given line having intercepts on x & y axis.
