Hey Coginito nice please tell how did you calculate -9 and +3 the values of change of x and y I am having a problem with symbols
There's an easier way to find the gradient. Just find two random points on the line, trace where they cut the x and y axis, for example (8,6) and (-7,5) or something idk. Label them as x² y² and x¹ y¹ and put them in the equation y²-y¹/x²-x¹
And solve it and you got your gradient. Either this is correct or I'm cooked.
I have my IGCSE today! And THIS channel helped me soo much that I can’t even-

Thanks Shanjida, glad they're helping 😊

@@sandyvioletchowdhury Very true :*(
how do you get a change in y to be -9?
I’m wondering that as well
The -9 is the difference between +5 and -4
He started of with 5 and counted down until he got to -4 the difference was 9 and because he was subtracting its -9
Hope it helps. I'm not good at explaining stuff sorry :)

can someone explain why the -1 and 2 makes 3 plz
Probably because to get from - 1 to 2 you add. Im bad at maths too tho

Question..would be helpful if anyone answered...how do u find the gradient for a straight horizontal line
The gradient of a horizontal or vertical line is always 0,0 as the gradient = change in y ÷ change in x ... and there is no change
Please be my math teacher. She is horrible. Teaches us 1 lesson of line equations in the most horrible wya possible. Then gives us 34 questions about them. If we don’t do them 2 hour detention. So thank you for helping
Am really greatful sir 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Does it depend on how you draw the triangle when you’re working out the gradient like it could be the same number but a negative because I may have drawn the rise downward? Does it depend on how you look at it or am I making a mistake ?
I know this video has been posted two years ago but I’ve been trying to follow your video and I was wondering if you could put the triangle wherever you wanted and it would still give you the same answer? I keep putting the triangle in different places and I came out with a different answer to what you came out with and it’s really confusing. May you be able to help me?
Are you sure, We can make points anywhere on the line? Because different 'Quadrant' of graph will give different answer
Can u explain to me how u got -9 at the first example
ay bro just label the Y and the X line and remember change in y over change in x and wherever that line is u will be fine lol and the c is jus tthe y-intercept for every graph label the X and Y line it alkwyas helps
how can you find the change in line y and x
I passed my exam because of this class thank you so much
Thank you sir for teaching me

Sir, Thank you! You've made life a lot more easier for a potential medical student!
Tq it took us a week to learn this but I learnt it in under 5 mins. I have an important final year exam next month
i do not understand how you got the change in y an x from 5 to -4 and -1 and 3

Tysm i have a scholarship test tmrw and realized this was on there! ❤❤❤
How the test went
help me a lot thanks!
thanks it did make sense
Well done for your explanation but I have a question!
So on the line if I pick any two points then for the value X and Y I won’t get the same value??
It just depends on the points that I pick??
Has to be on the grid but ye
You teach better than my teacher thank you i was falling behind
thank you so much
I have a question,
What happens when there is no y-intercept
What about straight line questions which ONLY give you this 3x -5y = 12
Because that is what’s on my exam
You make y the subject of the formula
Hey man, for my different equation, I ended up getting a fraction. Is this normal, or have I got it wrong?
Gradients can be fractions as well!
isnt there a mistake at 1:42 when you say 5 but your write -5, should the change in y be positive 9, not negative 9?
its just a dotted line so it looks like -5, but its actually positive 5
Such a skibidi video🎉
life saver
Thanks
waitabasa budhi
I have this for homework and I’m year 8
W man tysm
You are a genius
how we identify where is point 1 and 2?
Take any point on the line as Point 1 and the other as Point 2
when picking a point can it be anywhere?
When placing point, make sure the point u mark touches a grid square corner.
Look in the video and see where the points are at if u don’t get
Sorry I’m kinda bad at explaining
Do you have to go from left to right?
Yes if the slope is positive (/ or if it rises from left to right but if negative (\) then right to left)
amazing work I ahve been learning this and have not understood it but a short video made me understand thank u😊
Glad to hear that Zainab! 👍
I'm sorry could you explain how +5-4 is change of 9?. I mean it's stated as positive 5 but shows it as -5 in video. Am new to this.
ah yes it is not 5-4 its basically the distance from 5 to -4 so like 5-x=-4 so x would be -9 because it has a distance of 9 numbers from 5 it goes to 4,3,2,1,0,-1,-2,-3,-4 and thats a total of 9 numbers so -9
