    I originally watched your video to see why my plasma cutting torch was not firing up. I found out I was missing the swirl ring...somehow lost during a tip change...and I forgot about it. With the swirl ring now works.
    I have been enjoying your videos for years. I got a lot of welding tips and help for my welding hobby. Thanks

    did you throw the old part away? it would be interesting, since its already ruined, to try drilling on the old tip or cutting out a slot that would fit a small screwdriver. if that didnt work, maybe weld a bolt to the broken tip for removal?

    • @KevincaronSculpture
      @KevincaronSculpture  6 лет назад

      Sorry, I did toss it already. This is the second time I broke one off. The last time I managed to get it out and the threads were okay. But it was sticking up just a bit out of the hole. This time it was deep inside so no go on saving it again.

    hi man, i have the same torch, but im not sure what parts i can use with it, i mean the nuzzle and electrode - sometimes looks like non original parts are cheaper

    • @KevincaronSculpture
      @KevincaronSculpture  Год назад +1

      Aftermarket consumables are always cheaper. And there is a reason for that! I have been getting my consumables from George at www.georgesplasmacuttershop.com Italian made and real high-quality parts. Last much longer than the factory stuff.

    You can got to amazon and buy a pack of 80 pinch clams plus the tool, don't know how he was able to get clam off let alone slide it back on. Have watched Kevin many times in the past and this is the only time he did not explain how he got clamp off

    • @KevincaronSculpture
      @KevincaronSculpture  4 года назад

      Whoops,, forgot that part. I just use a small flat tip screwdriver and pry the clamp open. Then use a pair of wire snips very carefully to get a good crimp when I put it back on.

  • @seannot-telling9806
    @seannot-telling9806 6 лет назад +1

    Kevin if you don't have the correct tool for the odicker clamp a nipper works well too.
    The correct tool is just a blunted edge nipper anyway.

    • @KevincaronSculpture
      @KevincaronSculpture  6 лет назад +1

      That is what I have always used also.

    • @seannot-telling9806
      @seannot-telling9806 6 лет назад +1

      I used to do a lot of soda and beer line installs and if I could not get my hands on the correct tool
      then the next best was the nippers. The nice thing about nippers over the diagonal cutters is that you get a nice square pinch on the ring.
      You need to do a for the first time plasma cutting and have the Voice do the cutting. Just a set of hands is all you would need and with gloves on...
      EDIT : Sorry about the miss-speing above. I somehow fat-fingered the keyboard.

    Hey Kevin, what do you think is the cause for that metal part to break, over torque on original install or dropping the torch ? Is the part made of brass or copper ? Any way to extract the part or prevent it from binding ? Thanks, J K

    • @KevincaronSculpture
      @KevincaronSculpture  6 лет назад

      Operator error for sure. Over-tighten and no lube. My fault totally. The last time this happened I could get the broken end out and it was okay. This time, not so much..

    What would cause mine to just stop blowing air out of the nozzle when it's on or I pull the trigger? When I put it on test air starts blowing like it should but as soon as I turn it back to normal it stops blowing and doesn't do anything when press trigger. Air pressure is fine. Had it on 60psi

    • @KevincaronSculpture
      @KevincaronSculpture  6 лет назад

      Off hand I would say bad trigger. Take the gun apart and just jump across the two wires on the trigger. If it fires and air comes out then there ya go. If not then take the cover off the machine and find the solinoid right after the air hook up and see whats going on there. Or call George at www.georgesplasmacuttershop.com/Contact-Us-Page.html And talk with him. He is very up on all the different plasma cutters.

      What can cause your Arc to not work even though your consumables an air flow is fine? Everything on my machine is working fine except there is no Arc to start the cut? I found another SG - 55 torch head online to buy but I want a better understanding of if something can go bad inside that torch head itself I would assume it can..?

    Thanks, Kevin. Any ideas who might carry replacement parts for various plasma cutters?
    I seek a U.S.-based supplier of the switch-wire socket (and plug) that is on the front panel of my Primeweld Cut50D plasma cutter. The (male) plug on the front of the cabinet has two small posts inset in a cylindrical shape recess that has a dimple on the outer edge of recess to force polarity of the plug.
    Thank you much. -Lee
