  • I have a collection of so many lock picks but this is the coolest one I have gotten my hands on in awhile. This plastic case is shaped and designed to look like a credit card. It even fits right into your wallet.
    Watch as I demonstrate the lock picks that are hiding in this awesome secret case.
    I will for sure be carrying this in my wallet on a daily basis.
    Thanks for watching!!!

    This was the very first set of lock picks I had. After two weeks of solid practice I opened the cheapest padlock you could imagine. I was soooo happy !! Since then I've built up a huge collection of lock picking & bypassing tools but I still carry these simple credit card picks with me every day. They taught me a lot about tensioning and feedback in those early days. Superb video as always and so refreshingly honest. Now if that is James Bond's credit card, you've just revealed his 16 digit card number! If only we could guess what his 3 digit CVS/CVV number is...

      By itself, no.
      You really want a wider selection of tools to try things out, find your preferences and maybe work on real locks down the road.
      There's nothing wrong with getting a cheap Chinese set to get started with. In order to work a bit better you should sand them for a few minutes to smooth out the edges. Ideally you also want a top of the keyway tension tool, which very often isn't included in those sets.

    Do the individual cylinders inside the lock stay put once you push up on them or do they come back down to their original resting position, from this video it looks like you just raked them upwards a couple of times(in their unlocked position) and they all remained in place after you took out the rake and then turned the lock free. Are all locks like that?
    Edit: I think I noticed what you did, let me know if I’m right, does the tension pick help keep the cylinders up in place as you put pressure turning the lock?

    • @henrys3138
      @henrys3138 2 года назад +1

      So what you call cylinders are actually pins. A lot of locks have little pins inside that need to be set at the right height that they're set for. Normally, a key's teeth sets the pins at the correct height, but a lockpick can do this by mimicking a key. The wrench is used to apply pressure on the plug, forcing the pins to seize up. The pick or the rake sets the pins into the position they're cut for. Once set, the plug moves more in the direction of unlocking. They don't quite stick per se, but rather there are two layers of pins. The layer you see when looking into the plug, and the layer you don't see. The layer you don't see sticks, the layer you see doesn't. Whether or not you use a rake or hook, the top layer of pins will stay set if you're picking correctly. How do you know if you're picking correctly? Practice!

    • @Maddi1224

      But you can actually push the "inside pins" too far also.

    It’s a class 3 felony in some states
    5-10 years in prison and like $10,000 fine
    But in some states it’s perfectly legal
    But in the states that it’s perfectly legal you can get in trouble if there is reasonable suspicion
