I was surprised how cheap the interior materials are on BMW's. This video was very helpful!

Hey bro. Thank you for the video and the disassembly and repair instructions. I drive a BMW X4 and have exactly the same problem as shown in your video. I asked the BMW workshop if they could re-glue it. They rejected that and instead tried to sell me a completely new glove compartment for a whopping 435 Swiss francs. So now I'm repairing it myself thanks to your instructions. Thank you!!

      U're welcome, bro!
      Happy to hear that.
      Good luck with the work.
      P.s. mine still holding.

How did using the contact cement work for you. It would seem as though you would have to be very precise with the initial contact of both surfaces. I look for ward to your reply.

@@tommyedwards6956 contact cement work always has to be precise or it will be a mess. Just some patient and finesse. Applied in long beads. Brush came with helped. But adhesion was super.

J’ai eu le même problème avec la boîte à gants de mon X3 mais je n’ai pas tout démonter.
J’ai recollé le revêtement en badigeonnant avec un pinceau et et rejointer le tout avec des pinces à ressort !

And thats a job well done!
Mine peels from the other side.
Already ordered some epoxy and clamps to do this on the weekend.
Next week the car gets traded in for a Model Y

Best video on this issue .
Can you use contact cement ?!

I don't know why you have to remove it. I simply glued the cover without removing the box and then use a stick to keep it closed.

Would contact cement work just as well as epoxy ?

It will happen again. Its a BMW. Peel it off completely and line it with a similar color leather or pleather.
