Sort of reminds me of going through one of my Dad's 450' by 180' sheds after he passed. Being an Arctic Cat, Yamaha, Kawasaki and John Deere Snowmobile Dealer from 1968 to 2000. All the Trade Ins he took in. And several Snowmobiles still in the Factory Crates from as far back as 1975. About 60% were easy to get running. The rest were parts or Scrap bound. Took 6 months to Inventory everything to Sell. Took 3 weeks to sell them off once the Sale was announced.

Wow. What a treasure trove of motorcycle and snowmobile history under your fingers. Did you contact Mike & Frank from American Pickers to buy some of the motorcycle stuff you had? Wish I would have known about the massive barn sale of those items. Betcha, you had tears in your eyes 👀 watching your dad's big transportation collection & history empty out the huge shed/barn full of stuff your dad accumulated over the decades. But think of all the people who are to this day really enjoying all the items he held onto, so one day, the heritage of your dad's dream came full circle. Great story of how your father preserved transportation history to be re-enjoyed by new and not so new generations of like-minded aficionados of Artic Cat, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and John Deere.

I was working on the road for many years as a railroader. I worked in KS, OK, TX, AR, and LA a lot. Old US Route Highways have always grabbed my attention. Once, traveling in between El Dorado, KS and Augusta, KS, I saw a whole of cars being drug out of the trees that stood 300 yards off Hwy 54. I stopped and asked, and looked as much as I was allowed. The old Hwy alignment had changed in the 70s and left some businesses behind. This gas station/wrecker service place was one of them. They pulled some old classics out and put them in an open field adjacent to the Hwy 54. There is a lot of old history on HWY54 and predates Hwy 66 in some spots. It goes from Chicago to El Paso, TX. South of Hutchinson, KS, Hwy 54 follows the railroad to El Paso, TX. This used to be part of the Cotton Belt that the Southern Pacific owned, then later the Southern Pacific merged into the Union Pacific RR. I was working on the line. Many years ago in the 80s, I worked on many of the old RR branch lines in KS, that are now abandoned. We entered the state in the NW corner near Colby, if my memory serves me. We worked the entire state for six months testing the old railroad tracks (rail) with ultrasound. What an interesting trip that was. I really can say, I have seen ALL of Kansas! Fun time. In your video there is a shot of an old Hwy alignment. That reminded me of all of those memories.
