    The paddle shifters actually do work with the shifter in drive. It will shift to the next gear but it doesn't hold it like in "S". After a few seconds it reverts to fully automatic. It can be useful for a quick downshift to pass when you're not in Sport + mode.

    I feel you man! I got an auto for the same reason. Don’t want to shift. I’m 42. Been there done that. My 2018 GT that I got like a month ago is everything I have ever dreamed of. I had an 88 GT with the T5 as a kid around 2000 till about 2010 when I sold it. Biggest regret ever. This new one I got rips with the automatic in any mode. I’m a straight line guy and there’s no reason to try to manually shift this automatic trans. Unless maybe you are on a road course or want to sound cool downshifting your automatic transmission. It does sound cool if you do it right. But usually you just look like an idiot. 😂 Thanks for the tips. The only thing I miss so far is putting in the clutch and revving the engine when I don’t want to go forward any faster. I guess I could put it in neutral but seems weird and I haven’t even tried that while rolling.

    Before I continue the rest of the video, I understand to each their own. I found it comical when mentioned the paddle shifters are ricey but they actually have a positive function. Also, when you mention to shift while turning bc of the twisting... technically you're not supposed to do that. So far I'm just seeing a review how you feel about the mustang paddle shifting vs how to properly use the paddle shifters.
    Personally I agree about the paddle shifters bc they seem different (especially for you coming from a gt500). I like the autos that let you shift with the boot. I'm sure you and like many other car enthusiasts will prefer a manual. You can't beat that control going on a nice windy road, unless that's just me. 👍

      I appreciate your comment. When u need to shift, taking a turn out of a stop light, ya sometimes u have too. Also, I did a review/opinion and how too. A little of everything. Not a big fan of them. Fun every once and awhile

    my 21 Mach 1 will paddle shift in either D or S and once you paddle shift, you must paddle shift unless you do not paddle shift for 10 seconds at which time the paddle shift times out and the auto shift returns

    Ok - the paddles DO work in Drive - they just remain in effect for a few seconds after shifting, but they do work in D. In S, the car stays in manual once you use the paddles………..

    Here’s my question.. I just bought a 2015 s550 GT auto. Can I just put it in sport and drive or do I need to use the paddles?

    • @triggersociety12
      @triggersociety12  6 месяцев назад

      In Sport if u down shift with the paddles, it won't upshift unless u do it on the paddle or if u click it into D after u take off in the gear u want

      You don't need to use paddles if you're driving an automatic car... those are just optional for manual driving

    But paddle shifting is what them pros are using with their NASCAR n formula cars. Finger shifting that is. Faster shifting like playing a video game.

    Cant belive youve bought a car meant for speed and you dont like the thing that makes it faster than other only automatic cars. You can drop a gear whenever you want which is the main reason fornthe paddles. Without the paddles this car is slow when roll racing and 5 years behind other cars.

    • @triggersociety12
      @triggersociety12  9 месяцев назад

      For getting in the correct gear, yes it's good... for roll racing, drive and sport + is faster and more responsive with my experience

      Personally, with my S550 I’ve had some amazing pulls using the paddle shifters. It does takes some time since some of the shifts feel a second late, but that’s to be considered with 400+ hp 5000lbs. They are good for both if you know what you’re doing. Or maybe I am just optimistic since I have only used paddle shifters in other cars, still getting used to my s550 2020 15k miles barley 💪
