Never heard of this podcast but I’m here for Danny! Great podcast gentlemen it’s nice to see his real life personality. He’s pretty humble for being so talented. Greetings from West Hollywood Ca
I’ve been following Danny’s channel for awhile now, which started with his shorts. I also saw him doing Thunderbird demos for Gibson and I think Epiphone as well. He wasn’t wearing his glasses or a hat, so I had to check in the comments to be sure 😂
It took me a while to warm up to Danny, but after a while his talent came shining through. Now I’m straight up jealous of his ability. His comedy, tones, and ability is top notch. Definitely made me realize how limited I am as a behs player….
What a nice podcast you've got lads. I don't usually sub to anything but I make an exception when it deserves way more attention than it's getting, so I'm going to be your 926th subscriber. Keep it up. And Danny is the most entertaining YT bassist I've seen.
If anyone cares (why would ya though?) here is my ranking of YT bassists based on entertainment value (not chops): 1. Danny Sapko. 2. Dipstick504. 3. Charles PoshGinger. 4. Josh from Bass Buzz 5. Everyone else except for... Last. Scott punchable face buy my course annoying tosser Devine.
@@eckie4679 I know they think I'm somewhat of a prick but I'm OK with it. They usually respond 'for playing guitar for as long as you have, you should be better.' Which is quite true.
This is great!! the two hosts resulted to be so nice, so did Danny himself! greetings from Chile. PS: The Fender VI thing was an absolute sin! What on Earth was he thinking?
I'm not a musician but I do luv me music and I subscribe to Danny's channel not only for his accent, which is amusing, but also the entertainment and learning experience as well. I will say this: Back in the 80's I taught master bassist Sting tennis lessons for a week in California while he was staying at the resort where I worked and I'll never forget it.
A great interview from my top youtube-er, well done Danny. And you have Stranglers headling Saturday night, Thin Lizzy on Sunday and your band to play behs in, The Stranglers. Absolutely top man.
I keep waiting for him to mention Jack Bruce. I know through the years there have been some bassists who have been flamboyant and cool- Tina Weymouth in the 80s and of course LesClaypool in the 90s- but while Jack didn't really try to be cool but he had so much goofy fun playing bass (and sang while playing). It know nothing about the technical aspects of the bass but I know what I love listening to. Jack Bruce and Dusty Hill are my favorites.
Somebody probably pointed this out in the 8 months since this video came out but Flea's first role was actually in Suburbia all the way back in 1983. It's not a cameo either. He was 20. The movie is a bit cult nowadays. It was directed by Penelope Spheeris who on top of doing the two Decline of western civilization docs (one about punk and the other about hair metal) also ended up directing Wayne's World. Being that suburbia is about punk kids i'D have figured Danny knew the film.
31:53 Roy used to be great on the Dick Emery show. His recurring role was a biker and long-suffering father of Dick Emery's Bovver Boy character. His son Rory Kinnear is also an actor. Sadly Roy was fatally injured in a fall from a horse during the making of The Return Of The Musketeers, he was only 54.

The sad thing was when George Formby came into the conversation and... George Foreman?😂 Even sadder is that he associates Foreman with the grills you buy at B&M and NOT his boxing career. What a sad Gen Z case
Danny Sapko is at the top of my list "RUclipsrs you'd like to have a pint or five with."
Danny taught me how to play guitar back before covid hit. Great guy.

The BEHS MAN!

A lovely fellow, Danny.
Danny is brilliant! Highly entertained by the RUclips shorts and when he plays full tunes. His humor is impeccable.
Hope his slingshot holds out!😁

I tell every 5 string bassist I meet, "Jaco Pastorius only needed 4 strings."
I always say that John Entwhistle only needed four strings😂
I always say that Sid Vicious only needed 4 strings.
As a five string bassist I usually respond by just flat out admitting Jaco and John were better than me. They only needed 4
Every 5 string bassist you meet thinks you’re so smart to tell them a joke that no one has heard before 🙄

Filling in for JJ Burnel is a big pair of boots to fill Danny. But I've seen your best JJ bass line video, and you'd smash it 💪
Only just discovered this Danny Spacko he’s GREAT 😅
I enjoyed that, Danny's a cool fella.
This guy is brilliant.
Great hosts, great guest, hell yeaaaaaah
Saw Thin Lizzy at Reading 1983, amazing 👍
Glory Glory Man United!!! All about da Behs!!!!!
I saw both The Stranglers and Thin Lizzy at Reading 1983. Great choices Danny 👍
Just found Sapko a few months ago. Glad i found this video. Gret job guys.

Danny has a proper personality, something that a lot of RUclipsrs lack.

You didn't pay these guys to interview you did you????????
I saw his demo of the Dean ML bass back a couple years ago, then i revisited that video and was shocked to see him there
Great interview and conversation with three interesting Guys………

Big Danny fan - great interview guys!
Outstanding episode gentlemen! Greetings from New York!
been watching his yt shorts for months now.
I could watch that classic city shirt all day long😂❤
i really enjoyed this. cheers🍻
Great bass player but his ability to laugh at himself is an equally great quality 😎
Agreed.

@@lauracook8203 I’d add in Andy Fraser to that too. An amazing musician 😎

Have been enjoying your shorts. Saw your interview on Man Overboard. Are the hosts minitures or a you a giant? Best wishes. Namaste 😎🦋
I love the program is filmed in their mums dining room.
I was sure he was joking when he siaud he is 6'6"... I thought he was a petite guy...
For some Banjolele action, check out Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer...
with the banjolele Danny could do a feature length movie - perhaps a quasi- remake of George Formby's "No Limit"
THIN LIZZY!
Suburbia was fleas First film in early 80s fleas bttf was 89 and 90
Ah yes.. Keith Moon in Tommy. Fiddle about fiddle about @dannysapko
Big boy
17:06 my instant response was didgery don't! 😅
I'm surprised Danny didn't think people would understand his accent. I'm from the US and have no problem in the least understanding him.
Danny made me realise I'm actually a shit behs player. Cheers Danny 🤣
BEHS!
BEHS!!
Not my man on the banjolehleh!!
I just learned Flea was Iranian!
Gods own COUNTY.
Which is Yorkshire.
I didn’t realise he’s a Pearly King
???
@@Itsthatoneguy371The brits know.....😂
Actually the accent is pretty much part of the appeal, isn't it? :D
Is Danny massive or are the other 2 just really small? Looks like Lord of the Rings.
Danny is sitting closest to the camera, makes him look bigger

Alright, guys. Let's not act like some goddamn snobs. Bass players hating on "technical" bassists is some corny, gatekeeping garbage in 2024.
BEHS !!!!!!
