Matt is a national treasure in the UK, incredible channel.
love how everyone just spells it Matt cause any other way is just silly... pretty sure for some dumb reason his parents got lazy and dropped a T
@@RumblesBettr it's quite common for both TBF. Either way the content is top tier.
Totally agree.
He is such a positive guy 👏
Agreed his energy is next level, super inspiring, top lad!🇬🇧💯👌🦾🦾🦾
@@RumblesBettr he damn sure ain't lazy brother!👁💀👁🤔🤔😫😫😫
Matt and Hanna have such a great combined energy. They are probably the only two people able to survive a Lamborghini experience like this with their senses of humor intact. LoL
That is simply untrue. Plz try grow up.
I installed an aftermarket remote starter on a manual transmission truck when they first came out. I had to disable the neutral safety switch to make it work. A friend drove the car and parked it in gear. The next morning I hit the remote start button and the car started and drove right through my garage.
It was actually the switch that says the clutch pedal was pressed on.
Yooo thats messed up lmaooo hope everything’s alright 💀
Matt is a legend. Much love!
*Mat*
Good man that Mat!
@@Jwhipification yes, and thank you for spelling his name correctly. I however am a dumbass and did not.
I had written that it maybe was a crank sensor but maybe Mat had not seen it. I had had similar symptoms in my Alfa. Cold was perfect but when it got up to temp it would cut off.
As soon as he said it the tach was bouncing up and down, I instantly thought crank signal.
Matt is blowing up lately!! ❤ Props to VinWiki & Tavarish for helping put him on the map. He’s such a great dude
*Mat*
yes blowing up since he is full of dogsh-t ... moving on
Really? I think he done that on his own. He shot up to 1m Subscribers in less than a year so naturally news of him spread pretty quick far and wide.
@@Kiwi_Bayer The only reason I heard of him is through this channel.
It's YT so nobody gets a million followers a casual way or legit one too. Even well known celebs struggled to gain up to 1 mil followers years ago when YT was more popular then today. Let alone some hipster clown like this guy. Be real.
As for his channel, soon as it pops up on my feed (if that even happens at all) he will be blocked one way or another. I will find the way to do so.
Since speaking of blocking for some idiotic reason YT (Google) thinks it's smart idea to remove block / ignore function from us, that we had for years up until now ....
Seriously this place gets worse of the worst each year / month and seems like YT never ends to disappoint, the toxic levels are beyond words for a long time.
@@minmogrovingstrongandhealthy Wow you sound really salty there. 90% of your comment wasn't necessary.
Matt takes a breakdown as a challenge, dude actually does so much for the car community 🤙 such a legend
*Mat*
"good story" "bad luck but good outcome" a good story or anything remotely good as a general rule doesn't involve your car breaking down, you wasting time and money for stupid things and complicating things collectively wasting time of your life and life is short. Something I guess these tryhard hipsters is typical of them to not realize and will never learn from anything ...
Yes he does so much, does a clear example of not repeating his mistakes and his lifestyle that any normal person would ever even consider let alone even try to recreate. So I guess thanks for wasting 15 minutes of my life listening to this clown and realizing the obvious outcome ...
I genuinely felt nervous and sick to my stomach listening to this story. Your a legend man!
I feel it too. It would have been incredibly stressful.
Cannot even Imagine how frustrating that must have been. Good thing is you are both good sports and got things done.
Lol. I was with my family on vacation on the road to Greece. We lived the same experience in Macedonia, our crankshaft sensor failed, and the motor stopped (VW Passat- maybe the same sensor). We managed to restart the engine with starting spray, and reach the destination in Halkidiki. When we returned home after driving 1000 km, the sensor 'died' in front of our home. Nice sensations... All the best, nice content.
This young lad has done amazing he's worked non stop and gave some great content over the years he becomes one of the family very quickly
Know the feels. I remember a long drive to help bro swap an alternator out late at night when it died right when he left on a long trip with reservations.
I feel your pain. On my Audi TT I was only a few blocks from home with my oldest daughter and the crank position sensor caused it to shut down completely. Then I had to tow it twice and it cost me hundreds of dollars over a $30 part.
Matt is the friend I’ve craved for. Never had a friend like Matt. But always wanted one. And his content makes me feel special. He’s such a lovable guy
Good Story teller! What a pain in the ass road trip haha!
My Dad had that problem with a 4.0l I-6 Jeep Cherokee, it was in a difficult spot, but didn’t have to dig into the truck to replace it. He also had a bad Neutral Safety Switch, which he eventually bypassed with a toggle wired under the dash since it wasn’t worth the $250 US it would have cost to replace at the time. It started the truck until we scrapped it due to Midwestern rust.
Had a faulty crank sensor on my mk 4 golf too. used to drive totally fine until it got up to temperature, engine light came up once it stopped working. but as long as I never let the car drop below 2k rmp it just kept driving fine. once below 2k rpm it would just shut off and only start up again once it cooled down ^^
Matt and Family are by far my favourite content provider on RUclips. Absolute Leicester Legend
Wow! That stressed me out to hear that story. That would be completely demoralizing. So far away from home, visions of your amazing trip being crushed before your eyes, and your wife/girlfriend looking at you with complete frustration.
You seem like a really cool guy. I just found you, and your vehicle evaluations of your rebuilds at dealerships is genuinely intriguing. Always rooting for a good rating on your cars
Called it! I knew it was the crank shaft position sensor as soon as he mentioned the symptoms. Happened on my B6 A4.
It happens on vw parts. Had it on a golf. Glad you made it back.
He’s turned into quite the story-teller, hasn’t he?! Even the dire tale of a crook Lamborghini in Spain, whilst enough to make one’s nuts contract, is a good story, well told - kudos, Mat!
Unfortunately, I think the title of this video needs to be changed. Mat's had a far worse day of Lambo ownership.
Hannah is a keeper!!
I am a lecturer in Nigeria. But, wanted to take a moment to express my deepest admiration and respect for your relentless pursuit of your goals. Your unwavering commitment to never giving up has been a true inspiration to me.
Matt I love this story, it shows me your just a normal guy like my having car trouble like I have done I still do form time to time. What my dad always says, the joys off motoring.
Crank position sensor drove me freaking crazy the same exact symptoms!
Now we want to see a Fiat Panda rebuild
Joys of driving old and/or modified stuff!
We had the reverse, getting stuck in the UK. Brits living in Switzerland - Swiss car. Drove home in Feb to see friends/family. Crank sensor went as we arrived at hotel in Norwich on the first night. Car would run until warm, then shut off. 1998 Merc c43 estate, nothing that turns heads like a lambo :) Bought a new crank sensor. Pig of a job down the back of the engine. Old one out, new one didn't fit. Seems Swiss or maybe EU cars are slightly different. The next day whilst trying to cross reference, then source the part (turned out it was the same part as a bloody '98 Smart car!), my wife fell over in the hotel shower and dislocated her knee. Proper nasty with leg pointing the wrong way. Eugh!
Hardly saw anyone that week, incapacitated wife and broken car. We were also relieved to be back on that ferry!
That's terrible. It sucks when it happens in your own country, let alone somewhere where you don't even speak the language.
Those cars are for looking at, and occasionally driving, but most importantly for showing off in…..NOT for relying on for driving from point A to point B.
Mat just deals with problems so well. Amazing attitude for sure, poor Hannah, love his channel though.
So happy to see Matt on this 🙌🏽 finally the credit he deserves ! Puts a smile on my face every video
Matt, I hope you see this comment. But TOP GEAR is officially about to end. We need you to be the next top gear. Your adventures are amazing. With fixing cars and travelling places. Yih are the new/next top gear. We need you on a mainstream channel
Matt has the best channel and best personality I've ever encountered on RUclips... He's a legend
I remember the video in question. Mega emotional roller coaster! 😂
Glad to hear that toll booths are the same everywhere
Crank position sensors are so annoying when they fail
Has to be a record for the world's shortest tow: up the ferry ramp.
I should have guessed the crank sensor! That's what it always is, doesn't matter if it's a Jeep or Mercedes or a Ferrari or apparently a Lamborghini that intermittent no start, generally tends to act up when it's warm those are typical symptoms of a crank position sensor. And usually it's best to replace the cam sensor when you replace a crank sensor if it has a cam sensor.
Why is it always a crank sensor?
Classic VW issue. Had crank sensor issue twice on my Jetta and sounds exactly the same as the Lambo issue.
We drive abroad a lot, literally every time in multiple different cars / vans / motorhomes / motorbikes something happens in some way making us breakdown on long journeys 😂
I have learnt to get used to it and expect it now as I am cursed
Generally some car park somewhere becomes a temporary garage and a game to fix something roadside
No waaaay! My crank sensor went out on my car and died at the same intersection everyday for a week once it got to operating temp.. I had to let it cool down then could make it to work before it got hot again, haha what a nightmare for that happening in this scenario though!!
Matt is potentially one of the most genuine RUclipsrs working out of the UK. Really nice guy
Hannah's a real one for going through all that with you
Going through all that? A rd trip?? Jesus fk travis. If you like her fine. But talking absolute crap is inexcusable.
@@keastymatthew2407 calm your tits, no one's talking crap about her
Hannah is a trooper for putting up with all that
So true. Some women would abandon a relationship over such chaos and stress.
Hello Again. Matt you tell a very good story, great to hear but what a shame for your trip. Regards, RichardA.
Well that's a "vacation" he won't soon forget!
Good story today, thanks Mat & VikWiki
Just love the way you laugh in the face of adversity, its a lesson for all of us!
Matt does everything right- should have kept the GT3 though
😂😂😂 a lot of stress 😅 but you can look back and laugh now 😆
Hanna is a real trooper!
That was painful to listen to, let alone experiencing it. 😢
I have a friend who has every driving holiday / event ruined in this way.
They limp it round then home and then do a cracking job of fixing it 🔧
Only for something else to go horribly wrong next time 🙄
Cerebra 👀
I love car-freak enthusiasm which Mat have. He is a true petrolhead!
Wonder if it was a Holley crank sensor 😄
My man acting like an ethernet cable is as scarce as hens teeth.
Ya crank sensors can do that for sure
thumbnail is an R8
National Treasure ?? Slightly over the top..
MAT ARMSTRONG is the English version of Tavarish...
So in that case Shmee150 must be a Sir or MBE by now
You’re like James may to me haha. So interesting how yih explain things. Need to se with more , and need to see you on a bigger scale. The things you di are amazing
Great video.
Nightmare, most expensive censor.
These vin wiki adds are very specific to the USA.
If you ever needed evidence that health and safety has gone crazy it's this video. Not being able to push a car 50ft up a ramp! Absolute madness. Great videos as always though.
Yeah, nanny state. Just because they might not be able to make it, somebody get‘s rolled by the car and the ferry is delayed. Totally unreasonable…
@Heidelaffe congratulations. You are part of the problem.
Dude, I feel your pain 😢
well fortunately it was just a crank sensor. Still a heck of an adventure and story. for me being able to find out what the issue is with a car is 90% the process. the fix then just has to be figured out
Oh come on Matt.! Going abroad with a lambo that needs an ethernet cable and a laptop to diagnose a "repaired car". That would be the first thing I packed. It's called planning 😂😂😂
Great 'horror' story. Disappointed the vlog was about the broken car instead of the Spanish countryside with the Lambo. Carry on!
Travelling without the insurance and the log book is so dumb. And road assistance is a thing for the wise also.
I watched this episode. 😄 Mat didn't give up. 👍
The problems that you get when you have money!
Matt is awesome , old soul🤘🏼🏁
Wow, Spain isnt coming off as very pleasant to visit to be honest, thanks for the headsup, ill avoid.
I can say that my GTI was a nightmare too...🤣 🤣 🤣 Maybe vw group things 😂😂
formula one needs the v12's back
Won’t ever happen you get the same power if not more from these new v6 twin turbo motors and there more fuel efficient
American here. What is a logbook?
A "logbook" or V5 is the registration document for the car
@@jd-lr7zu oh okay. In the US we just call it "registration"
was a vw fan ...now i love toyotas ...very reliable
This is why I won’t have anything made in Italy
Cracking story, but roadtripping a modified Syvecs lambo without a laptop and diag tools IS MENTAL!
Immobilzer is the OEM VW/Lamborghini key security system🙄
got about as far as hes green one did.lmao
You Can't Tow a Vehicle with another Vehicle in Spain, But Can You Push One?
More Matt!
The worst day of Gallardo ownership is still better than the best day of RAV4 ownership.
Honestly, it's nice to hear everyone else also has stuff go to absolutely shit at the worst time possible
It aint just me! 😂
so well explained
So he continued the trip to Barcelona and coulnd't be bother to buy an ethernet cable there? 😅
Just how many times can 1 man say lamborghini in five minutes, you win that contest.
Can't fathom why you wouldn't have a dedicated laptop/ethernet setup for a car this proprietary.
Bloody hell Matt what a ball ache but great memories 😂😂
Feck me matt , great story but who doesn't get European AA/RAC etc cover when driving abroad 😮
You know since RUclips I've watched a lot of car videos. I'm starting to think just about all supercars/hypercars/fighter jets or whatever they call them are junk. I don't care if it's hand built by one person that they keep locked in the factory. The Europeans make fun of every American car but at least I can drive it 100 miles without having it catch on fire and having to have a 250k service done anytime you drive it. I'm sorry but all they are is eye candy. I've seen old rednecks modify American cars and I bet you'll have more fun in that than owning any European muscle car I'll just call them. The only kinda supercar I'd ever own is the R34 Skyline. They're just junk. Going 240 mph does nothing for me. I've been over 200 in a few things put together in a shed. Have at it guys though I'll stick with my Evo 10. Never had any trouble out of it.
what a nightmare!!!
Worst day so far!
Simpson's reference, nice 😎
Matt is a leicester legend.
I wish we could go back to the original content
This is exactly how I imagine Europe is drone who have their while lives dictated by the rules and regulations 😂
Spot on. That's why you don't see people riding on the roof of trains, or having 10 people in a car. Or loading a boat so much that it sinks.
