The album is called After Hours because it represents those thoughts you have when you wake from a dream and realize the person you loved is gone. The last notes of Until I bleed Out echo the first notes of After Hours causing an endless loop in a toxic relationship. The three bonus tracks bring the relationship to its resolution. Take My Breath is the first single from Abel’s new album. It will give you an idea of where he is taking his music. Bravo for your reaction. Understanding the production allows me to better understand why I love the sound.
The three bonus tracks bring the relationship to its resolution. can u explain that? ive been listening to this album since day 1, but these comment called my attention because i have my version of whats he trys to explain but the (resolution of the relationship) caugth me off guard, ima be waiting for u r response! (sorry for my bad english im hispanic xd)
Definitely album of the year for 2020! So glad you were able to experience it because it is definitely a sonic experience. One of the things I loved lyrically about this album is since being a fan since House of Balloons till now, hearing that "I don't even wanna get high no more" was really big because drugs have always been a big part of his life and referenced in his music, so it's cool to see his growth after 10 years and how his perspective has changed. Very special album 👌🏾
I gotta say, before these videos on this album, I had largely ignored the weekend. Blinding Lights was a great song but I had heard songs in the past that turned me off the guy. But you pointing out the Vangelis similarity really helped me to see this album, and now broadly this guys work in a new light. What a great album, thanks for changing my mind!
I would recommend listening to the bonus tracks of this album which almost acts as an epilogue creating the perfect end for this era of The Weeknd's music.
those rewindy arpeggiated synths on the back half of "Until I Bleed Out" always sound like something you'd hear out of a slot machine in Las Vegas to me, but with a swirling and hazy vibe, absolutely perfect considering the Vegas theme on this album
genuinely one of my favorite reactions to this album! seeing you touch on musical elements and adding your own was really refreshing. if you're interested, I think the 3 deluxe songs keep the same quality and offer a different interpretation to the story, almost like a second ending. thanks for the great content!
I love this. The album hit me in the same exact way. It must be redundant at this point but Kiss Land is a must listen. It was so different from anything in the popular music scene during the early 2010s. And because of that it flew over a lot of peoples heads. I think you’d enjoy it
the album uses metaphors to talk about fame, love and drugs. in the cover, he's the victim of his own decisions, who made him bleed out at the end of the album. he takes off his disguise at the beggining of the album, let his ego die, and go ahead with full honesty.
I’ve mentioned it a lot of times, but I really think you’ll love Mac Miller’s two companion albums Swimming & Circles. Your love of production will be truly satisfied.
you gotta listen to the bonus tracks even though their not included on the first album release - missed you, nothing compares and final lullaby. i think nothing compares couldve been included on the actual album and final lullaby couldve been replaced instead of until i bleed out but thats just my opinion
This album is based around Los Angeles, Kiss Land around Tokyo which is interesting This ones based around around Martin Scorsese/Terry Gilliam, etc, and that one around John Carpenter/Roman Polanski They’re very similar albums so it’s kinda weird how ones considered his magnum opus and the other a misstep
I love for you to react to Injury Reserves- By the Time I Get to Phoenix. It’s one of the most beautiful albums I’ve ever heard, the vinyl is very rare not because they only sold about 3 thousand copies. I would love too see your first reaction to the best album of this year.
Love the videos! I know you’ve listened to a bit of Frank Ocean already, but I (and it seems like others based on some comments I’ve seen) would love to see your reaction to either Blonde or Channel Orange!
Amazing Videos i love your reactions on this album. maybe if u enjoyed this project you can react to kiss land. Its very underapreciated i feel like but the music is unbelievably good.
NPW Sound Effect Machine Toy - Red So good I've bought two over my time here on RUclips. The switch from machine 1 to machine 2 was captured on a reaction video but I can't remember which one!
Can you please react to Kiss Land? Abel has said his new album The Dawn is him understanding how to use Kiss Land in his craft and that Kiss Land is his most honest and vulnerable work.
@@mercurialno6 awesome. Love hearing ur perspectives and deeper thoughts on things which we don’t get enough in the reaction videos. My dad enjoyed the last one as well
Please do react to his other albums, including Starboy. Don’t let people saying it’s too mainstream stop you from listening to it, it’s my second favorite album of his, after After Hours

I very strongly believe the "person" of the toxic relationship is a drug. If not, it's obvious the many parallels he draws between them in the lyrics.
Thought the title was a reference to the Scorsese film
@@AB-ud3xh it has a lot of references tho
i remember when after hours dropped as a single, i was obsessed with it for a good few months and it's still one of my favorite tracks in his discog
The title track is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever heard, and I can’t even give an explanation why. It just hits every part of my musical likings
After Hours (the track) is probably the best The Weeknd song ever holy shit. Shout out to Daniel Lopatin, one of the best producers ever imo.

Just curious, what songs turned you off of him initially?

His discography is easily one of my favorite of the 21st century

You are very funny and smart. Your knowledge of production is even more intriguing, and your takes are always spot on. You are a miracle number six
This album makes me feel so many different things it’s amazing to my ears. It hurts yet it is so beautiful
Until bleed out hit harder watching this, what an amazing song

Glad you got to hear this and was able break it down for us. You would love his live performances and music videos, they are amazing
The title tracks actually samples French producer Gesaffelstein's Opr. Great artist
Until I Bleed Out is easily his best ever song. Stunning track

Rly love your reactions, this one already is one of my favs
also just in case nobody caught it the chorus of After Hours is from the Foundations “baby, now that i’ve found you”
I’ve mentioned it a lot of times, but I really think you’ll love Mac Miller’s two companion albums Swimming & Circles. Your love of production will be truly satisfied.
I’ve been going through some real rough times lately, yet your videos never fail to make me smile. 🙏🏽
