  • Heat pumps are a key technology to get to net zero and we need an estimated 400 million more of them by 2030.
Kensa Group is leading the way in the UK, decarbonizing heating in whole city blocks with networked heat pumps.
Tamsin Lishman, CEO of Kensa Group, is our guest in the latest episode of our podcast 'The Switch - to a green economy'. She says this is a huge opportunity not only to decarbonize, but also to fight fuel poverty, since the end solution is more affordable than traditional gas or electric heating systems.

This is a great example of a decarbonising technology that already works!

Ms. Lishman, all batteries have a maximum capacity; how many joules of energy can your ground sources harvest before they outstrip the available ground heat? Part of my question has to do with the very high (over 40%) of homes that are rented in multi family developments, vastly increasing the needed heating for any given property they are on vs. the acreage and the available ground resources. Some are high rises over ten stories tall, others are hundreds of apartments arranged in small areas; how will your system work for these heat challenged folks as well?
My last thoughts concern how much your system might be able to effect warm to hot climates that need home cooling much more than heat. Btw, it is always good to see a company such as yours share it's success with so many others. Fred
